I’m sure it will now be no problem at all to discuss serious policy matters with all those teapartiers and libertarian cranks now that the “fever” has broken. Why just look at yesterday as the Electoral College members gathered in their State’s respective capitols to vote:
… three Romney electors in Arizona tried one more time to convince everyone that Obama wasn’t born in the United States:
Elector Don Ascoli said the fact Obama got more popular votes is irrelevant to the truth.
“The majority of the people had no dream that Bill Clinton did what he did until a young lady had a blue dress and proved he did,” Ascoli said. “And he had to come out and apologize to the world because he lied to you and me.”
Thereby proving…uh…something, I guess.

Must be a vocational College.
The most salient fact about Bill Clinton and any young ladies you may wish to name is that it’s none of your damned business. Since it’s none of your business, Clinton is free to lie about it.

Clinton got a blowjob = Obama wasn’t born in America? I swear, I’ll never get teabagger “logic”.
Good morning, pups. Today we’ve got Cohen, Nocera and Bruni. In “Obama’s Gun Test” Mr. Cohen says Newtown has become a decisive test of whether second-term Obama is different. The signs are not good. His Newtown speech did not contain two essential words: guns and laws. In “Let’s Get M.A.D.D. About Guns” Mr. Nocera says other countries have tightened their gun laws to good effect. Why not us? In “The Bullet’s Legacy” Mr. Bruni says gunfire atop the Empire State Building changed everything about a vibrant young man’s life. It changed nothing about our armed, dangerous and ridiculously permissive ways. And nothing will change as long as we have an entire party (and about 2/3 to 3/4 of the other) in thrall to the lunatics that run the NRA.
Here they are.
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and I’ve got a variety of bagels with cream cheese today. Yesterday I managed to get the rosemary cut back before the line of storms marched through with lots of wind and torrential rains. If I don’t keep on top of the rosemary it gets completely out of hand, but I love the smell of it when I brush against it. Have a great day.
Good morning all,
I’m betting this Ascoli clown isn’t getting any and hasn’t for a while.
What is their hang-up with our sex equipment anyway ?
Will it take four more years for people to realize the Obama we’ve seen is the Obama we will live with.
There is no hidden progressive Obama breaking out anytime soon .
Just when I we can’t get any lower: Westboro Baptist to picket Sandy Hook memorial.
Boxturtle (I’m completely out of adjectives capable of insulting that “church”)
Because freedom. And American exceptionalism®. And stuff.
You’re doing it wrong. First, you come to a conclusion. THEN you figure out an argument to get there.
Boxturtle (You notice I didn’t use any form of the word “logic” above?)
Anonymous is already on top of it.
x2. Progressive Obama only wakes up when Real Obama needs votes from the left. He doesn’t need us anymore.
Boxturtle (Grand bargain, here we come. *sigh*)
Good, but I doubt that they’ll be able to do much to a group of people who LIKE to live in the dark ages.
Still, Westboro best hope they’ve been completely on the upandup, especially with the IRS. And that they haven’t kept anything incriminating in electronic form.
Boxturtle (Wonder if they’ll throw a teenaged hottie at Fred, ala HB Gary)
Pffft! What would the IRS do? They’ve already said they have no interest in going after churches. What surprises me is that no banks or traders have declared themselves churches….yet.
Gotta take me and my cold to work. :(
Thanks, attaturk. It’s cold now so there’s no climate change, too.
And thanks, Marion, already I’m tired of everyone now discovering there are assault rifles in the neighborhood.
Would you explain, realistically, just what can be done to curtail’our ridiculously permissive ways’? Could maybe you elaborate on what is so ridiculously permissive about our ways?
Lanza stole his mother’s firearms, after shooting her in the face. He broke the law to obtain the firearms as it is already against the law to steal, even weapons.
To Margaret @ 13: If you are unaware of the ” interfaith lending ” of churches, I am shocked. They are working as unchartered ” banks ” in many communities, urban and rural. These loans, for business start ups and real estate or farming enterprises are as American as ” Silent Night, Holy Night “. The evangelicals and fundamentalist communities keep it hushed, to some extent, but they are rather insular so why would you necessarily know. Mittens was the most out front example but you don’t have to dig very deep to find this stuff going on. And, if they were more politically diverse it would be ok, too. But money changes everything. Just sayin’.
Don’t responsible gun owners keep their weapons, and ammo, secure?
And aren’t we always hearing about how arming more people with more weapons will make us all more safe? How’d that work out for Nancy Lanza?
