North Mississippi Allstars – Keep The Devil Down
These boyz can jam…!
What’s on your mind tonite…?
Talking about pre and post Katrina… Soldier…
Was the book salon tonight not the bomb?
I love it when the big leagues show up. Makes me feel like a star struck undergrad.
Aloha, Tut. I found out the hard drive on my laptop died, so I think I have to finally bite the bullet and get a new computer of some kind. My desktop is at least 10 years old, and the laptop was a used one I bought to use at Little Momma’s. It lasted almost 3 years, so that is good enough.
I think I just have to figure out what is next. Thinking a laptop will be the most versatile, I don’t need 2 computers.
Yes! Extremely cool. BevW is the bomb, as the kids used to say.
Aloha, tuez…! It was the total bomb…! ;-)
How’s floridaze doing tonite…?
Totally amazing. She went through the whole of the comments, very thorough, like her reputation. Lotta rock stars on the thread for sure.
Hey CT, were you up on the mountain last night? How were the stars?
Aloha, bg, I’ve being doing great with my little Net Book for 3 yrs now…! ;-)
When the heavies show up for the book salons it’s almost orgasmic.
And up, Bev knows how to book ‘em.
Edit, that should be yup.
Aloha, Dearie…! We had a total blackout cloud wise, I didn’t see one Leonid meteorite whatsoever…! 8-(
I am a Mac type. I don’t really want to get a new one, but their used ones are almost the same price, looking low end since I am not using it for much except the occasional document and surfing, which takes a lot of memory any more.
Crap i missed the whole salon today as i was under the house with a broken water valve. Must check it out now.
All stars aint ringing stars!
I was in awe at all the Stars that showed up, bg…!
I use a laptop like a desktop, it’s connected to a regular monitor and keyboard. However, it’s still portable, if need be.
It kicked serious butt, homeroid…! ;-)
Did you fix it yourself? I called the plumber this week to fix a pipe at my sister’s b/c I could not get the thing apart by myself. It was worth it not to have to struggle with the darn thing.
Stompin’ My Foot…
I was wondering about that. My desktop is basically OK, but it is so s-l-o-w any more. It wears me out with waiting for shit.
I’m personally impressed by anyone smart enough to turn off the main water valve, before messing with pipes….
I do quite a bit of plumbing myself, turning the water off is usually a piece of cake compared to the grunt work it can take to fix things.
Do you run any registry cleaners like Auslogics, CCleaner, and/or Complete Care 6…? They’re all free and do a marvelous job…!
My setup works great. Just keep in mind, if you use a laptop, as a hard drive, take the battery out. I found out the hard way leaving a laptop battery in and charged, wears it out fast.
I’m not very good with the computer stuff. . .I think my machine is just old, but I could look into cleaning it’s insides for sure.
I agree, turning the water main off is a piece of cake, as long as one remembers to do it…
I’ve had floods in my not so distant past.
I second using CCleaner!!!
The battery in mine made the machine so freaking hot that I never even used the battery, took it out and used a plug. But it did do what I needed it to do, and I think I got enough use of it. I could fix the thing for about $200, but I think I invested enough in it, and it is old, so prolly not worth spending the money on it again. If my desktop were not so old, I think I would fix the old laptop, but I think I have got my money’s worth from all the old shit at this point.
Auslogics kicks arse too, tuez…! ;-)
Sweet, homeroid, I love the Neville Bros…! ;-)
Keeping the rock star theme going day and night here!
Yes, at some point, you just have to upgrade. I keep my ‘puters going as long as possible but after a while…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZztYiIqx8XI It ain’t south till you got the zz and Trucks.
I posted the Auslogics download @29, here’s the CCleaner link…! They really do a ‘puter good…! ;-)
I haven’t heard of that one. Book marked for further investigation.
I have used startup monitor for years. Find it to be quite helpful. When I had a virus a couple of months ago, I knew I was infected immediately. Not only did AVG warn me and then still let the fucker in, startup monitor asked if I wanted to allow it to run.
One Way Out…
That’s what I’m thinking. I am pretty much about never say die, but with computers there is a diminishing return with the technological upgrades that happen. I think 10 years is about enough, I know there are a lot of people who can’t last a year since the last upgrade. So, I’m in the dinosaur category with the desktop. It is one of the Apple eyeball models. . .I think that is what they call it.
I think I am out of here, nice to see you all. I have been scarce with the lln fonts since the computer died.
Have a great night and tomorrow, thanks for the postnhost, CT.
Ooh, Mahalo, tuez, I hadn’t seen that one before…! ;-)
I have managed the last three years with free down load anti virus soft ware. I think i only have a couple more years before this puter shits the bed. Then i wonder what we will have to keep our asses clean.
Sweet dreams, bg…! Do download those programs and see what it does for ya…! *g*
It’s a nice little program. Tiny footprint, runs in the background, unnoticed until needed. It asks permission to run any program that asks, at startup. Nicely keeps the clutter off the desktop.
Have you ever used Secunia PCS…? It scans all of your programs, and finds the most current updates for them, nifty little tool…! ;-)
Hear The Hills…
I’ve heard of that and I think have used it in the past. Not sure why I don’t now.
I have to go to bed. However, if you want, I’ll leave you with Mr. Tuez, as he’s up.
*heh* Are ya sure he’ll even remark here, tuez…? ;-)
Sweet dreams, m’dear…!
Blind Lemon and the Hook Man…
Sorry Tut,north Mississippi allstar’s don’t rock my boat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8G4q52EsCc Love yah Tut i got’s ta find some sleep for finding a plumber. It all flows down hill.
I hear ya, homeroid…! ;-)
Pleasant dreams, and Good Morning Captain…!
Hi CT I rowed two hours in the Bay today it was sunny and calm so missed the Salon I was looking forward too.
We won our battle with PG&E in Santa Monica. No 3D blasting in CA Coastal waters! Saving marine mammals and all other marine life forms. Our Supervisor Bruce Gibson an oil man supported it with conditions like using oil industry testing ships. He admitted Saturday in a confession to the telegram tribune he and his legislative assistant had cheating on their spouses since before the election of 2010. SLO County council is transferring her out of the BOS offices. http://www.sanluisobispo.com/2012/11/16/2298603/bruce-gibson-affair-cherie-aispuro.html#disqus_thread all hidden during the election. He forced the $250.00 a month sewer on us ….$40k per household.
Aloha, bb…! So he still had wrought the innumerable damage before this all came out…?
She Talks to Angels…
First on The Cambria CSD Board then on the Planning commission then on the SLO County BOS 2 years in hos second term. He wanted to force Cambria to go desalination. He colluded with the Regional Water Board to fine us out of our homes. Allegedly had an affair with his appointee Anne Wyatt while on the Planning commission. Arrogant dictatorial man.He admits he was wrong to hide th4ese affairs for more than six years. See his qoute in the link. Something unethical about hiding these thing while holding elected office.
Like your land commission scams!
What a supreme d*ckhead…! No way to unwind the damage, eh…? 8-(
Teller’s post on the horror unfolding in Isreal is disturbing. But worse is the majority that support this disaster.
We’re fighting a similar Land grab here, with the misbegotten Public Land Development Commission, that uses Public lands and Public funds, that is completely outside of any local and/or State EIS or any other sort of purview…! 8-(
Extremely disturbing, bb…! 8-(
Wish but contracts have been let and trenching is underway. Gibson went the the Ca Coastal Commission several years ago and announced he had a shovel ready project. The application for the ARRA funding (over $80 million loan) was falsified but the federal government is so corrupt they did not listen to our proof you have a solution I am all ears.
I wish I could offer ya a solution, bb…! 8-(
And I hope you can defeat the the big money that wants to take your lands. We beat a big boy in PG&*E the owner of the Diablo Nuke Plant a few miles from where I am. It canbe done but it takes widespread outrage and the support of many organizations in a coalition. 170 leaders commented at the CCC hearing. We tasbling, public comment and music events.
probably should head out. Thank you.
Pleasant dreams, bb…! I shall bow out too…!
Mahalo for the great company tonite, ya’ll…! Aloha Oe…! *g*
