Well I thought yesterday that some of the GOP’s “bright lights” were getting pretty awful in defining the Almighty as a turned on voyeur of sexual assault, or that a daughter’s consensual sex was as bad as if their father was being raped.
But they had a sequel within hours and then one Republican leader took the whole thing international.
Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI), chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said on CNN last night that neither he, nor the Iranians, would consider an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities an act of war.
Yeah, just like FDR and Americans had no problem with Pearl Harbor.
Again, Republican “Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee“.
So has Romney made a commercial for that guy too?

Pearl Harbor was “uniquely American.” The Iranians will greet us with flowers and candy if we bomb the nuclear facilities(tongue firmly in cheek). Where does the GOP find these people? It can’t be easy finding people devoid of logic for all 50 states.
Aw shit, come to Alaska cwaltz. We got buckets of them.
Good morning all,
Highway to Hell , check
Handbasket,check
Pilots to get us there quicker, check.
Why don’t we all speak German anyway since they were as “smart” as these ass clowns ?
Great, wonderful example of why Republicans and Democrats are not “just the same”. “We suck less” may not be any reason to vote for somebody but “at least we’re not insane” arguably is.
It’s only a war if it’s with old white guys, see? Only elitists quibble over sending in the bombs if you got dissed. It’s macho war machine times.
Silly librul, you overthink these things.
*sigh* I guess that’s what makes me a librul.
If you don’t thump your chest and dare them, these Other sorts will just trample on you, didn’t you hear the Classic Rmoney, that they will frighten off the ‘bad guys’. I hear some vague echoes from times past. Familiar background noise wants the WH back so they can bomb some more, there’s places left almost pristine out there.
Another example of Republican insanity is the fantasy that the United States can win a conventional war against Iran. We couldn’t “win” in Iraq and Iran is three times the size, with three times the population and it hasn’t been suffering under a decade of “no fly zones” and other military sanctions.
Reminds me of declaring it safe as all get-out in Iraq, wearing a flak jacket surrounded by bodyguards.
I assume Mr. Rogers has discussed this with the Iranian defense ministry and everything’s cool.
Boxturtle(Geez. CHAIRMAN fer gosh sakes)
Inside a fortified compound…
I don’t think they look for that in all 50 states. Just for their committee chairmen. And given the clown car they sent for president, it shouldn’t be that difficult.
Boxturtle (See the science committee for another good example)
Of course we can “win”. We “won” in Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam and Korea. It just depends on how we define “win”.
Boxturtle (But don’t ask, ’cause it’s classified)
Good morning, pups. Today we have Kristof and Collins. Mr. Kristof takes a look at “Romney’s Economic Model” and says if you want to see how Romney-endorsed austerity measures would work out here, just look at Europe. And weep. Ms. Collins is in Waterbury, Connecticut. In “Connecticut Smack-Down” she says a mere $77 million later, Linda McMahon is still trying to get elected to the United States Senate.
Here they are.
The coffee and tea are ready, and I’ve got apple cranberry muffins today. And boy, am I EVER running late today! Time to gulp down the rest of my tea and head out to work. Have a great day.
Thanks, Msrion, that sniffing at Yuropeen type socialism should have been the warning, the PTB are counting on your chauvinism to keep you quiet and docile while they take everything you’ve put together.
Not to mention that they have an army that went head-to-head with Saddam’s army in the most brutal conventional war since Korea and came out on top. It cost them a million casualties. Cakewalk, anyone?
It’s amazing to me how delusional Democrats can support a self – described Blue Dog Democrat while he breaks or bends every campaign promise, shreds the constitution, incarcerates millions for something he did himself, while they chortle about how “librul” they are.
I never understood why that word had fallen into such disrepute until recently, naively believing that it was the result of right wing propaganda.
“I’m fed up to the ears with old men
dreaming up wars for young men to die in.” –George McGovern
Meh the list of Democrats who read the cliff notes version of the Iraq War summation and didn’t feel the need to research anything before committing our troops is arguably long as well.
Apparently, they were convinced by the GOP they were going to get flowers and candy.
It’s hard to say which is worse the certifiably insane person who acts insane because he’s insane or the completely sane person who goes along simply because it’s easier than arguing with the insane person. That about sums up my position on our “two party” system.
