About Firedoglake
We loved this show!
Zzzzzzzzed. Evemimg, Ms Sooz, all. I don’t think I can make it thru the movie, falling asleep here already.
hiya ce — so glad you like it. how’s cleveland tonight?
And I love Drew — Cleveland’s own.
hey hotflash — hope ya stay awake long enough for some laughs…
Lovely. Really beautiful. Fall is here!
started raining today! weather dood tonight said its been 123 days (iirc) since we’ve had this much rain (i’ve gotten about 3/4 inch so far). a soft gentle falling straight down rain.
We have had rain, dearly wanted for months, for a few weeks.
am looking forward to learning about the weather patterns here — won’t be as exciting as those on the oregon coast but it will be new to me. i don’t think i’ve ever lived in an east facing place… at least one that i recall. i’m used to sunsets – not sunrises (not that i’ve seen one of those)
Evening all. The rain just moved in after an amazing stretch of days with no rain. It was a great Indian Summer, perfect!
The woods are dry enough to be match-lit,though.
Yippee!!! It’s finally cooled off here; 67 two nights in a row. And my personal summer is finally subsiding too (I’ve come to hate September).
hey openhope — tis a wonderful thing :) how was your day?
hey tuez — wow, good news all the way around tonight :) at least weather woes wise. how didja spend your day?
Hey, we’re on the Peabody Coal Train route and it turns out you are too. Mt. St. Helens is one of the potential southern sites for shipping. We’re higher grade than “potential”. We are wanted and we are proud. to be abused.
….they’re heeeeeerrrrre….”
just to cheer you up, and all. :]
Oh! Me too!
lotsa folks talk about the jobs to come with a coal train but never have an answer when i ask about the health risks of all those open traincars fulla coal dust (ever hear of black lung disease?) … my granddaddy had what they called miner’s lung — now known as black lung.
i’ve slept through every one of them i’m proud to say… only time i see sunrises nowadays is when i’m up all night
People talk about the nonexistent pipeline jobs too. The whole point of shipping via pipeline or train is to reduce the number of employees. Can’t understand why that concept seems so hard to grasp.
And then there is the coal dust.
what tuez said— nice in TCB
my ex used to watch this show all the gtime and the kids would watch with her alot—– i never saw the attraction; oh well
You hate September? I hate February right down to it’s fucked up spelling!
tis the carrot they dangle from the stick they are getting ready to smack us with… they think we are like charlie brown and think that this time we will get the carrot….
hey bfl — how was your day?
Rare for me. MrCE in London right now. Nighters — I’m off to beyond.
g’nite ce
I used to hate Feb., when I lived farther north and before menopause. Thanks to the big M, September is miserable. September tries to cool off, relatively speaking, as this is Florida, but my internal thermostat goes off the reservation. I sweat taking a shower.
i was so happy when my own personal summer went away (for the most part). however, i’ll admit to having some winters when i missed it
I’m glad you don’t quite get that show either. Now I don’t feel so.. I don’t know, not-with-it.
Oh, no, no, no, my personal summer goes on strike in the winter and most of the rest of the year. In September, I could melt a fuckin’ ice bar. I guess I shouldn’t complain, it’s only out of control one month a year.
mine likes to show up only when its already hot. i think the heats brings it outta hibernation or something
There’s no living wage jobs in any of these Robber Baron schemes. We now have to battle for our water rights here in the Skagit. Threatened by a fly-by-night Venture Capitalist that should have been laughed out of town.
I thought it would be a matter of rational thinking and applied science over selling some sociopathic Non Event the rights to 5 million gallons of Skagit River a day until 2050. Plus, the impact that’s too massive and too stupid to think about tonight.
I’m such a silly woman with such a silly vision of City/County management. According to our politicians. I’m starting to lose my abilities to spot Non-Events, apparently!
by the way, i voted
That’s August for me, if we’re lucky enough to get weather so hot for so long that you earn Bitching rights! It’s not every year.
yay blf!!!
just reminded me of the gong show, which i actually kind of liked for the few weeks it was on
ladies, c’mon—- yer makin’ me blush here
and YANKEES WIN!!!! A-Rod Benched!!
i look at a bunch of electoral maps every day—- just do— and this election is totally winable for Romney AND this Benghazi shit is only gonna get worse
forking a’s lost :( but my gmen advanced
Good. I’m assuming you voted early mail-in. I’m absolutely voting. It’s my job. Fuck this “I’m not voting because I’m opposed to Colonial Empire building shit and I just figured OUT that’s what’s going ON”.
yeah; 12 fucking constitutional ballot questions, lines are gonna be looooooooooooong on election day
But mail in votes aren’t counted, so I now refuse to do so.
I’m related to a famous Yankee. when I was a kid, saw lots of games, behind home plate, for free.
wow, how forking kewl tuez!!!
wow!!! tell me who!!! if not here then e-mail me— if you want; if not, that’s fine
This guy, is my mom’s second cousin.
Truth be known, I now won’t know him if it ran into him on the street.
so you were the one holding up the John 3:16 sign
cool, i remember him;
Mail in votes are the votes of the People in our neck of the woods. They get counted with the same integrity as a walk-in vote.
enuff said
No, that sign came out much later. I think.
My sister-n-law would bow down. That’s cool.
i like oregon’s mail only setup
Truth be known, aside from tennis, the only sport I’ve ever cared about is riding, and Ann Romney made me feel bad about that.
On edit: how could I forget skiing? Oh, yeah, moving south…
i think mine will be ok; no worse than if i vote in person, i figure
did you used to play riding
No, I didn’t play, it was an obsession. Tuezday was my first pony.
Once upon a time I had a few spare shekels a month. Truth be told, if you play the game right, a horse costs no more a month than weekly golf outings. Never hear that though.
And on Edit: Don’t even talk about boats.
my mom figured out a way to have a horse for most of my teen years… she worked mucking out stalls parttime to pay for some expenses… in addition to her full time job
Not me. We had ponies [POA and Welsh] for 13 years as non-property owners.,a.k.a. Renters. Plus the occasional sheep or Quarter horse babysitting on our 3 acre with 2 stalls and an outbuilding for hay; rented pasture. $25 a month. Ponies need vet care 90 percent less than a horse. Which is why I bought 14 hand ponies. Also, they’re easier to get up and down from when you’re old.
Our neighbor has studied Dressage with her most awesome HUGE gorgeous horses for the 25 years we’ve lived here. Her mother was an established artist,a.k.a. Life and Creativity trumps Money. As people who don’t give a shit about the Colonial Empire version of the worth of their Land and Community, their horses and their passions,…
it’s a flexible culture, this Horse Thing.
i’m fading peeps. thanks for letting me hang out with ya — hope to see ya tomorrow night for cartoons
g’nite all
wow- horses– i never knew what an elitist snooty bunch here
I’m fading, too. Part of me knows I’m stretched beyond limits after doing 27 hours of trauma with my mom and going to Harborview Trauma center with Mr. B (spouse) today to get an excellent report on his surgery follow-up. I’m getting so into this medical stuff as an innocent bystander! I saw the inside of a human sinus cavity that’d been blown apart by surgery but was “looking good” today.
i steal gloves
i forgot to get masks
Horses are dogs only bigger and you can ride them and they’re the same potential money-drain as a boat. Only different.
It’s not true. Horses are of the Prey species and understand we humans are Predator species. It’s a dance between kindred souls who fear each other because they have the power to hurt each other. But, they choose not to.
I miss running with the ponies as a physical exercise I’d do for them and me. We had so much fun! It’d make the proper horse people freak, the level of freedom I’d give my pony. Red Cloud, 700 lb looked a Tang Dynasty version of a horse. If wishes were horses….I wish I’d met Red Cloud when I had knee cartilage! Too late the dream of ponies
Horses are teachers.
Boats are tools
I’m so grateful that ponies and Natural horsemanship came into my life when they did. They made me a better mother and gave my children a strong foundation .
Suzanne,I’m rambling on your thread again.
sweet dreams

How’s grandmotherhood?
KEEP THE FAITH AND REMEMBER THERE IS NO COMPROMISIN WITH FASCISM!!!
Good morning, pups. Mr. Blow and Mr. Nocera are off today, so Ms. Collins is flying solo. In “Veeps Go Yeep! Nation Nods.” she has a question: Who thinks Joe Biden was too feisty Thursday night? Who thinks Paul Ryan drank too much water? People, their debate was nothing compared to vice-presidential history.
Here she is.
The coffee and tea are ready, and I’ve got your favorite omelet for breakfast. A new little tabby kitten showed up alone 2 days ago, and eats like she’s never seen food before. Fingers crossed that I can get her used to trusting me and being touched and cuddled so she can go off to the vet too. She’s adorable. Have a great day.
Congrats to the young woman and good luck. Nice for you to be the designated driver…Enjoy.
diagree with ms collins

grandmahood is forking great — hard to believe that sweet baby girl is 18 months already — babies really are time machines…
