Johnny Cash — A Boy Named Sue, At San Quentin, February 24, 1969.
What’s on your mind?
g’evening pups — how’s everyone doing tonight?
Hey Suzanne! Very windy here in Ohio. Also (ahem) politics lookin’ really insufferable here…
hiya ce — yikes on windy! how windy was it? politics is insufferable but especially in swing states like yours… in a way i’m glad that oregon is being ignored but don’t like that my vote really won’t count…. downticket is where i’m focusing my attention
walk the line (and opening)
We have decided to vote on election day. In 2008 we voted early at the Cleveland Board of Elections, and it was fine. But this year they have changed our venue to just around the block, and we will take advantage of this after work, or, maybe we should go before work? I am really looking forward to the debate tomorrow — Joe Biden was my Senator in Delaware until we moved here in 1981. And we love him.
we vote by mail here — just waiting for my ballot. when i changed my address at the dmv, i checked the box to change my registration address. a few weeks later i got my voter reg card from columbia county. it was a really easy process.
given how ohio has had problems in the past with lines, etc, do ya think that will happen at your new polling place?
starkville
We are also following the Sherrod Brown campaign — this man is so honest and loved in Ohio. That sleezy Mandel is a loser.
i’m still learning who is who around here. am in a different congressional district too. gonna talk to my neighbor about some local contests going on — figure with him being the retired chief of police he will know what the brouhaha is about in the sheriff’s race
I don’t expect so. I’ve never, ever had a hard time voting in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. This city is so Democratic and racially equal that I think they just leave us alone. We love one another here, and the racial divide is pretty much 50/50. Really, it is why we never left.
Don’t vote by mail, it’s not counted unless the race is close. And who would know if it was close, in some instances?
Since I’m doing 3rd party, I want everyone to hear, loud and clear (okay, probably ignored but it makes me feel good) that I’m sick of the status quo.
fingers and toes crossed for ya
I fear that you are right — so many of my co-workers vote by mail, but not me.
hey tuez — how was your day? in oregon, mail is the only way one can vote. i really like it, filling in a ballot with a ball point pen at my table, taking the time to do research if needed.
It is those bastards in Columbus that we want to beat with sticks.
orange blossom special
It should be Federal, really!
yup — but those bastoids (they are not just in columbus) would never agree to anything that makes it *easier* for voters to vote
Sorry, this is supposed to be fun! And no politics. MrCE is in London conducting a medical history tour. They are having a great time “behind the scenes” at some world class collections.
ce — its about everything and everything ya’ll wanna talk about :) lln has had some great political discussions
folsom at quentin
Here is a book about knitting, with the photos shot at MrCE’s museum building. So beautiful. Anyone knit here?
i used to knit but then i started crocheting because it was faster — i’m an impatient crafter *laughing*
I liked voting by mail too, until I found out it wasn’t counted. However, if that is your only choice…
daddy sang bass
And I’m a near-blind crafter. I used to sew my clothes (yea! 4H) but really haven’t done anything for years. I still love Martha.
And why aren’t you there?
i’ve heard that about absentee ballots (the way to vote by mail in ca) but have only heard good things about oregon’s election process
i love watching the sewing/quilting shows on pbs on sats and the art shows every weekday noontime. i enjoy watching them create — i used to quilt but haven’t in years. can’t draw a straight line without a ruler much less paint but i sure enjoy watching others who are good at their crafts.
A couple of days ago my 80-year-old fundie mother asked me who I was going to vote for. Even she is disgusted. Jill Stein can’t win, but if she gets 5% of the vote, the green party gets public election funds going forward. That’s my hope. We are both in swing states.
Heh. Well it was a very expensive tour. And I’ve seen everything many times, behind the scenes (the best part). Followed by my recent two weeks away in Germany. I have limited vacation, sigh.
do ya think she has a shot at getting 5% nationally?
I love Sherrod Brown.
Really nippy and fall-like here.
I loved making hand quilted things. I made all the baby blankets and hats, and even dolls and toys. My eyesight used to be great, but, well, now everyone is grown up, and I don’t have grandchildren yet.
Wow behind the scenes in Europe must be great, as in front of the scenes they are, well “liberal”. How cool.
I love, love Sherrod. And the fact that I know his brother has no difference.
I don’t know, but in years past, so it seems, they regularly get 2% and this year we are hearing more and more about 3rd parties. If my fundie mom is willing to vote for them…
Well it is the stuff that the public might never see. Cool stuff.
hey margot — how’s the wilds of ohio tonight?
i was a sewing machine quilter — i’m terribly impatient. made a hand quilted trapunto white on white quilt for steph when she was a baby but that was the extent of my hand quilting. zoom zoom fast on my bernina
I have to leave! MrCE not being here to herd to to bed is dangerous. Night everyone!
g’nite ce
No loose animals!
Just pretty leaves.
I think MSCE might be looking into this quilting. Goodnight!
Aloha, Suz and lln pups…!
pretty leaves! love fall’s pretty leaves — and the smells of fall are great too. wood fires, the crispness in the air, cinnamon and apples and hearty stews…
aloha tut — how’s paradise tonight?
It was a mostly cloudy day down at sea level, and it’s right at 32 F with 5-10 mph winds up here atop MK…! ;-)
yikes — gotcher layers on? those winds must make it downright bitter when they blow
No need to bust out my thermal longjohns yet, but, I’ve got them handy…! ;-)
you are made of sterner stuff than i dood — i’m bundled up and its only 54 outside (and 70 inside). of course, when i’m feeling pain, i get cold so its hard to tell if its me or the weather *laughing* sucks when its both *more laughing*
looks like everyone has headed to the land of zzz’s… i’m gonna head there myself
thanks for letting me indulge myself with some cash tonight — my dad was a huge cash fan
g’nite all
That was a great Cash clip…! Sweet dreams, Suz…!
