Wait a minute old irrelevant videos that were discussed years ago (when they actually happened) are relevant for reintroduction now?
Because I have these videos of this one middle-aged Land’s End catalog model saying some really left-wing stuff.
Like he’s pro-choice. More liberal than Ted Kennedy. In fact, he seems to have a lot of varying positions.
But he sure is blessed with a common-touch, a real man of the people.
Or do these repurposed YouTube videos only apply when your attempt to use them is complete bullshit?

About Firedoglake
“Out of ammo” usually means GAME OVER.
Wow. I had to click through to a few of the videos to realize that you weren’t talking about Obama. Only with that last link, you kinda were…
Good morning, pups. Today we have Dowd and Friedman. In “Complicity in Duplicity?” MoDo has a question: Who’s cherry-picking now? Two different Rices, in two different administrations, spinning two different national security stories. Talk about false equivalencies… The Moustache of Wisdom says “China Needs Its Own Dream,” and that the so-called American Dream won’t work for China. How will its new leaders handle the dramatic growth of its emerging middle class?
Here they are.
The coffee and tea are ready, and I’ve got a variety of bagels with cream cheese today. I’m off to rush around and get ready for all sorts of things. Kittens need feeding, lunch needs to be gotten together, and I’ve got to make sure I’ve got enough rolled up socks for this evening, to say nothing of drinks. Does anyone have an idea for a drinking game for the debate? Have a great day.
Crack open a beer. Ponder:
Ruth Bader Ginsburg is 79.
Tony Scalia is 76.
Anthony Kennedy is 76.
Stephen Breyer is 74.
Drink the beer. Go to bed early.
I kept hearing about that “bombshell video” yesterday and when it finally came out, I was extremely disappointed. Probably not as disappointed as the reflexive Obama haters though. I don’t think the word “bombshell” means what they think it means.
My thought as well.
They’re looking for the Golden Bullet. It’s all they have left.
Boxturtle (Mitt has run out of time to change minds in Ohio)
Golden bullet?
I’m gonna watch the warehouse 13 I taped this week and read about the debate tomorrow. I think both of them will be trying hard to stay with a script.
I wanna be the moderator.
Questions for Obama:
1) Given that Jamie Dimon confessed under oath to congress to sarbox violations, why has he not been charged?
2) What makes you think austerity will work here when it’s causing a depression in Europe?
3) Have you obtained a warrant for every American Citizen’s communication you’ve tapped?
Questions for Mitt:
1) Why do you think corporations are people, yet union members are not?
2) Who’s going to rebuild the bridges and roads? Prison labor?
3) How many jobs NET were created within the United States during your tenure at Bain?
Boxturtle (Then I’d get mean)
I think Box Turtle meant “silver bullet” The point is well taken though. Even the Republicans acknowledge that nobody likes Willard. His only chance lies in the people hating Obama more, proving that the “lesser of two evils” vote is truly a bipartisan thing.
The Golden Bullet is a magic bullet that hits exactly what you want it to exactly where you want it to.
The theory is that if you shoot enough bullets in the general direction of your target, one of them will become the Golden Bullet. Like Iraqi anti-aircraft fire during the gulf war.
Boxturtle (Still looking for the Golden Bullet of puppy housetraining)
Was Joe Biden’s remark yesterday a golden or silver bullet? Or just a stray?
What did Biden say?
You’re right, Mitt’s only chance is to make Obama more hated and scary than Mitt.
Not sure how he’s going to do that outside of the GOP base.
Boxturtle (And even in the GOP base, it’s close)
The middle class has been ”buried” during the past four years, …
That’s Willard’s biggest weakness. They have nothing but the fictions that have been peddled by right wing ideologues to the rabid, mostly racist base. That just ain’t gonna play in a debate setting where his opponent can immediately say “bullshit”. Obama’s biggest strength is the fact that he’s not a teabagger, waving his gun and his racism around. The losers of this debate are already chosen though. Hint: it’s us.
Hah! It’s been longer than four years but way to be honest Joe. Meanwhile, the very people who blew up the economy are scott free, still collecting enormous bonuses.
The Rmoney campaign is moribund. They needed a bombshell video to liven things up (guest appearance by yours truly in the plaid sport jacket at 1:05).
I’ve always maintained that Joe could blow up a campaign with one sentence.
Jaysus Cyreest. It’s like a different person in that first vid.
Sleazy Bob Woodward on Morning Joke: Medicare MUST be cut.
morning, and thanks, attaturk and Marion – am going to watch tonight at home, though the local Dem hq is having a group watch. Rolled up socks might be a good thing to have on hand, and my blinking skull is good decor.
This assumes that tax cuts to the rich and defense spending are sacrosanct, doesn’t fool anyone anymore.
Medicare MUST be cut because head for the hills and Katy get my gun if they want to raise MY taxes. Pfffft!
Gotta go to work.
How close do you think Rmoney will get to saying something Birther? It’s like he can’t figure out how to campaign to anyone who doesn’t HATE Obama.
I also wonder if Mitt is going to try to direct attention to Libya and try to hit Obama with that.
Boxturtle (I also wonder if Mitt is considering catching a Stomach flu. :-) )
Sam Stein is virtually speechless on Morning Joke.
I’m seeing a lot of ads related to protecting defense popping up around here, without naming a particular candidate. Trial balloon?
Boxturtle (kinda late for that)
Blaming the Middle Eastern mess on the Prez is tempting fate, since the 911 headache resulted after their last occupant of the WH (he who must not be named) refused security briefings. it could always be brought up in a debate.
The more they press that point, the more likely Obama will turn to Mittens and say, “If you want to start a war in the Middle East, now’s the time to tell the American people.”
Oo! Email that one to the WH, they might not be smart enough to see it.
Boxturtle (O might also ask if Mitt is going to hire Bibi as his National Security Advisor)
Stephanie Cutter is unrecognizable on Morning Joke.
Memorable lines could result from pushing this line of ‘reasoning’, would be good to have.
Can’t watch. our local news just reported that a highway underpass has been changed to overpass, since an endangered spider inhabits the ground where it was to be placed. Lovely spider pics on my news. Timely, too.
Yeah, but, that sort of implies that R would be in a position to start another war, like win the presidency. Better to say You won’t have the chance to start another war.
???
For me, if something reaches a certain very high level of awful, I have to watch. I put Morning Joke in the same class as Hardcore Pawn on truTV.
oooh, nice. Maybe even ‘the American people are too smart to give you a chance to start another war in the Middle East’.
Good point … but that might make him look like an angry, uppity Black man … lol
Even better. A chance to give the American people a compliment.
There are degrees of painful that make it too bad to watch, for me. That is on a level with daytime soap opera. And I once had to stop an assignment I was given to watch, marking commercials, for a firm that wanted to double check its ads. Could.not.stand.it.
I can’t imagine that anyone would look anything but humble standing next to Mitt.
Okay, maybe Bob Woodward wouldn’t look humble.
That’s what will be the most interesting for both of them: balancing respect with zingers. Not too aggressive but not too respectful.
Mittens has a tougher job.
I think so too.
Mitt’s debate practice was in a field of clowns, can’t transfer easily, imho.
