About Firedoglake
Don’t know the names of the women in the Today Show clip (I recognized Al Roker and David Gregory), but the shorter one was really into the dancing! The taller one was much more self-conscious and awkward.
Good morning, pups. Mr. Bruni is off today, so we have The Pasty Little Putz, Dowd, Friedman and Kristof. The Pasty Little Putz ‘splains to us that “It’s Not About the Video,” and that the unrest in the Islamic world is more about power politics than blasphemy. MoDo, in “Neocons Slither Back,” says look who’s pulling the strings of Marionette Mitt and Puppet Paul. In “The Talk of China” the Moustache of Wisdom says recent local headlines offer a hint of how the coming transition is about much more than a change in leadership. Mr. Kristof looks at “The Foreign Relations Fumbler” and says if Mitt Romney keeps misfiring on foreign policy, he’s going to blow up his presidential credentials. Nick, honey, he has no such thing.
Here they are.
The coffee and tea are ready, and this morning I’ve got a cheese souffle. I find myself in serious need of a 55 gallon drum of brain bleach after watching that clip from the “Today” show. But at least now I understand why Charles Pierce calls Press the Meat “Dancin’s Dave’s Disco Party.” I’m going to go and lie down with a cool cloth on my forehead. Have a great day.
This is odd… My link didn’t work, and neither did my edit. Let’s try AGAIN:
Here they are.
Thanks, Elliott, and no thanks, not watching Dancin’ Dave shuffle about showing this time his feet are not in his mouth. At least, literally.
Thanks, Marion, that street cred is actually showing up in Rmoney’s routine in a positive way, since it shows us the sort of voter he’s playing to. That is pretty scary, but at least we can see just how crazee his handlers and their intended audience actually are.
Hey You! I was starting to wonder where you be. Hope all is well.
And, thanks to Elliot for the listings.
I can’t imagine why no Muslims like the west.
Crawling out from under all the stuff that collects in two months away. Huge pile to work through, but spent yesterday at the butterfly house being fluttered over, and feel much more like coping.
Take your time. Take your vitamins. Take Five.
Or six. Thanks, happily the weather has turned cool so it’s not horrible, bit by bit landing on my feet.
Cool weather? You lucky dog.
If the folks on tv are talking heads, are we ‘puter folks Talking Fingers?
Mine are only just muttering at the moment.
Now UP! is on and hearing how the faction that’s fighting the war for poverty, by smacking down the workers into poverty, is dancing on the graves they’re filling, maybe I’ll just screech instead.
I pushed some wrong button on my remote control and now there’s no sound coming out of the tv. Guess I’ll have to miss UP this morning. I am such a techno loser. Oh well.
The “mute” button? I do that all the time…
Good for you, not pitching soft objects.
4 American troops were killed by Afghani police today. Yesterday 2 British troops killed by Afghani security forces.
Nope. The tv sound runs through the large JBL speakers, so we don’t use the mute button. I think it has to do with the cable box. I’ve tried pushing the tv button, the cable button. No sound. Maybe it’s for the best? For now anyway. Once someone else in the household wakes up, they’ll fix it.
But, thanks, Marion, for the help. :)
Do as I do and watch it online. No commercials.
Good morning, Demi and Ruth (and Marion if you’re still here).
EDIT: Oops. And Good Morning Bluetoe2.
THE RICH GET RICHER: Net worth of the top 1% has grown to 288 times the wealth of the median U.S. household.
Hi Molly. Did you figure out what to do with the turnips?
Isn’t that the “market” working it’s “magic”?
So Gregory’s gonna give Bibi time and a stage from which to stump for more war? All of the people who think voting Rmoney would be better because of magical resistance to his policies and ponies should take note: Bibi wants Rmoney in the White House. What does that tell you?
Suggestion; watch and listen,
‘Moyers & Company: The One Percent Court. The Nation editor Katrina vanden Heuvel and Jamie Raskin, constitutional law professor and Maryland state senator, join Bill to discuss how the uncontested power of the Supreme Court is changing our elections, our country, and our lives.’
My friend has a beef and root vegetables stew recipe she’s going to give me. I’m wrestling with what to do with the baby bok choy and two kinds of squash.
David Gregory dancing to the beat of a different drummer. I would expect nothing else from one of America’s news stenographers.
That’s weird. My reply got eated.
My friend has a beef and root vegetables stew recipe she’s going to give me. I’m still wrestling with what to do with baby bok choy and also two kinds of squash, one I don’t recognize (the other is butternut).
And I have a big zucchini I’m going to have to make into bread.
1000 words worth of images, thanks to the Romney tour bus.
The Judicial Branch is, as you know, a co-equal branch of government. But in my opinion it should not be unless and until all justices are elected to two, four or six year terms, at least on the federal appeals and SCOTUS levels. Lifetime appointments by partisans kind of defeats the purpose of a check or balance.
Right you are, what us happening now was never envisioned by the writers of the constitution, and is the antithesis of justice. Protecting an institution so vital to democracy’s functioning has to happen, but I’m not sure exactly what provisions will ultimately do that. One way is media doing its job.
The turnip ate your reply.
Since you’re not a pastry fan, another good use for the large zucchini is to stuff it. Stuffed Zucchini Recipe.
And, Molly, you can alter that recipe. You don’t have to use meat. You can add rice and cheese. Then, after it’s baked, you can freeze Molly-sized portions for later.
Now that is truly ODD. My first reply “is waiting moderator approval.” Two sentences about stew and bok choy? Huh??
Peg – you are so correct. Fine point to make.
No sound on the tv and this computer is taking forever to refresh, which is frustrating me, so I’m giving up on the electronic devices for now and will go read a book. See you friends later.
Yeah demi, I’m experiencing the page loading problem too.
I would have to alter that recipe quite a bit. It calls for 4 zucchinis and I have one. I think I probably will bake zucchini bread and take it to Indy next weekend. Someone will eat it, I’m sure. But thanks for that recipe, it looks yummy.
So maybe it’s the site. I’m still going to go read.
Bye bye.
Molly, you’re funny. You don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows. And, I don’t usually even use recipes. It’s more of a guideline, really. But, you go ahead and make a zucch bread. I’m sure your family will enjoy it.
I wonder if the Fox crew will say that Frothy told the masses at the Values Voters Summit, that he thinks that conservatives are as dumb as a bag of rocks. Rocks all over are insulted
Yes, that is absolutely vital. That bit about the media is correct as well. I think it all comes down to the money in the system. There is the cancer that is causing the organ failures. That’s the part that needs to be excised immediately.
Living on student loans is an unfortunate path. I feel so badly for people who get sucked into that vortex. And it is the only way for some people now. Or so they think.
Reminds me of a story some friends told about a bus ride in some terrible backworld place. They were stranded and we told by the driver, “Don’t worry about the fare.” Until they were ready to get off. “NOW you’ll pay.” Yikes.
My congrats to Sam Seder in subbing for Mr. Hayes. He did well. Glad to hear Rahmney lost this particular power grab in Chicago. The children will not be punished as much as they could of been for the sins of Big Brother. Poverty is something all of us should experience; but especially Grover, Turd Blossom and their bankrolling traitors. Tax cuts for the top 10% during wartime and a humongous recession are, or used to be at least, Not American. The killing abroad cannot be untangled from the killing by neglect in our own country. Life has always been cheap but right now it appears to be a downright bargain. And, no one talks about it because blood spatter hits everyone in the room and on this issue we’re all in the room.
How do you put plagiarist Fareed Zakaria back on the air and expect to have credibility?
Morning people,
Thanks for the rundown Elliot. Usually catch Moyers and follow the Nation.
Thought for a moment that I had missed PUAC or today was Saturday again with all the recipes. :)
Demi @ 11, maybe we are simply the DFH, “digitalistas.” (C)
msmolly, the butternut squash will keep in a cool dry place until you get through the more perishable foods. Same with the turnips, clean and dry and dip in paraffin, store in you root cellar. ;)
No problem for me. He’s had zero credibility since he helped lie us into war.
Prolly some bug in the works. I got a waiting for moderation too, but it was just more zuch talk. Unless they changed the rules about food talk, I think we’re fine.
Hey, folks, substitute-Caturday is up…no pictures posted. Hmmm. Not sure why…But we can talk!
