The Beatles – Glass Onion
What’s on your mind tonite…?
Happiness Is A Warm Gun…
Is it White Album Night?
(that’s off the top of my head…but both are from the White Album, aren’t they? Boy, I remember the summer I bought that album and played it constantly in my summer school dorm room. It was so, so different from what we expected from the Beatles by then…My roomies weren’t sure they liked it. From Rocky Raccoon to Why don’t we Do it in the Road…it was not like “She Loves You, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah…”
Aloha, tj…! I’m a big fan of Rocky Raccoon…! ;-)
Me, too! Loved it from the start.
Again, my roomies that summer thought I was weird…
And, let us not forget the jumping off point for the title of the song in your comment at #1
Ah, a little nostalgia before bedtime. thanks, ct. I’m sure the rest of the LLN crowd will be along shortly. I’m late for sleep already..Niters
Sweet dreams, tj…!
one last riff:
“Her name was McGill, but she called herself Lil, but
everyone knew her as Nancy.”
LOLOL. I always loved that.
the whole song always makes me think of “Frankie and Johnny.”
Oops, I mean, “Frankie and Johnny.”
And now I’m going, for realz.
I’ve Just Seen a Face…
You got to hide your love away…
Strawberry Fields Forever…
Wow that’s kewl!
Hi CT. I found yesterday’s book salon was interesting and depressing. There is a lot of misery that does not need to be. Wade wrote me we are going to change a lot of that. Banks are sitting on a lot of vacant property that could be housing folks. We are going for some.
Aloha, mzchief…! It is a pretty cool mashup of Beatles videos, eh…? ;-)
Aloha, bb…! Right on…! That was an excellent salon, and so was today’s…! ;-)
McCartney comes to Houston on Nov. 14. Got tickets!
Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds…
Aloha, Coach…! That’s kewl…!
It rather recently crystallized for me who Lennon really was. Another WOW!
A Day in The Life…
Who was Lennon, really?
Aloha, Comrade…! It’s been awhile since I’ve last seen ya at lln…!
This reminds me that I’ve never read Joan Didion’s essay on the White Album. Has anyone in here, and if so, what did you think of it? Will have to order from the public library…
Greetings, Comrade Tuttle. I’m cruising on some Winwood meself. Thanks for all your good vibrations.
From my perspective and based upon what I have learned about him over the years in retrospect, he really did have quite an understanding of non-violent peace and was an unusual, motivating factor for others.
The Russell Tribunal on Palestine (RToP) will be holding its fourth international session in New York City on Saturday, October 6 and Sunday, October 7. It will take place in Manhattan, venue TBA.
Aloha, bw…! I hadn’t heard of it, much less read it…! But, now I’m going to be looking for it…! ;-)
Let It Be…
Your bringing up Winwood caused me to go to YouTube and listen to this song, which I don’t think I’ve heard in 43 years. An actual blast from the past.
I just ordered it from the LA Public Library. It’s one of the gaps in my education.
Ironically, mz, the UN is not really complicit, considering all the resolutions they’ve passed directed at Israel, now, the US on the other hand…! 8-(
That aspect has become clearer to me too – and in regards the despair his murder brought.
Yoko is still bringing light – listened to her interview w/ Cindy Sheehan recently.
OBLA DI OBLA DA…
I loved that they used Imagine as part of the closing ceremony at the Olympics.
Check out the meeting agenda. I do think it’s worth noting and watching.
Quite the lineup of speakers, mz…! Mahalo for the heads up, I’ll certainly be keeping my eye out for it, and probably will do a post or two about it…! ;-)
Most excellent! TY!! Meanwhile it looks as though the Scots are pursuing Blair.
I Me Mine…
Holy Sh*t…! I wonder if he’ll be tried ‘in absentia’ or if he’ll try to defend himself…! The Chilcot Inquiry truly exposed how willful and complicit he was with Shrub in attacking Irak…!
One last tune… Goodnight Tonight…
Mahalo for the company tonite…! Aloha Oe…! *g*
