hey dearie — how was your day today?

I spent this morning making flour/salt/water hand prints of the 4 year olds as a special present for their mama for her upcoming birthday. These boys are so much fun! The handprints are still toasting in the oven and will be gessoed tomorrow. Took a moment to enjoy the handprints of my kids that I made with them 30+ years ago. Fun stuff!

The Jägerschnitzel is what I truly miss(besides the bier and wine), Dearie…! ;-)

And beautiful summer weather down here on the south central coast. The boys have been home all week since their school is on vacation. Their dad took them to the Santa Barbara Zoo and to the La Brea Tarpits. I took them and their 94 year old great-grandfather to lunch at a beachside cafe. They are just delightful. So well behaved and cooperative. And funny!

Sleepy. I’ve been wiped out all week for some reason. I had a beer at lunch on Tuesday, then fell asleep during yoga. The ladies made fun of me. I wasn’t snoring all THAT loud.

got up to 75 here today and is currently 59 — starting to get some good sleeping temps but the weather dood says we are gonna have a couple 90 degree days next week

Good to take a day of rest and not overdo it. We’ve had some much-needed rain here today and expect more tomorrow. The mrs is having a yard sale tomorrow, though, so she’s hoping the rain will hold off til afternoon.

My wife and I keep a very close eye on Daisy, but not nearly so close an eye as she keeps on us. We got her five months ago from a rescue operation, and she’s the sweetest dog ever (for us).

Good morning, pups. Mr. Nocera is off today, so we have Mr. Blow and Ms. Collins. In “The G.O.P. Fact Vacuum” Mr. Blow says the truth was hard to find at the party’s convention this week. Charles, you’re dealing with a party that flat out announced that it would not allow its campaign to be dictated by fact checkers. Truth? They couldn’t care less about it. Ms. Collins, in “Only the Good Get Rich,” says good news, people! There was plenty of time on the flight home from Tampa to read through the Republican Party’s platform for you. Oh, the poor, poor soul…

The coffee and tea are ready, the cold drinks are in the fridge, and I’ve got your favorite omelet for breakfast. I think the filling in mine is going to be a sort of sofrito-like mixture of onions, sweet bell peppers and tomato. I think I’m going to spend part of the day repotting plants. My orchids are overdue, and I’ve got a draecena that’s bursting out of its pot. I can do the orchids inside, but the draecena will have to be done outside. Hoping that the weather will hold… Have a great day.
