What’s on your mind?
Aloha, Suz and lln pups…! A killah jam…! ;-)
aloha tut — how’s paradise tonight? its forking awesome!!! glad ya liked it
Hiya Suzanne and CT!
Lovely here tonight — I’m wearing a fleece vest and the summer insects are singing away.
hey ce — that sounds wonderful! its cooled off to 71 outside and i’ve got the fans going trying to cool down the inside of the house as much as i can before the hot arrives tomorrow. how was your day?
I’m having a blast with the munchkin tonite…! He’s fighting his typical nite-nite time…! ;-)
he’s coming up on his first birthday, iirc… jules is 16 months and jen said that she’s got an early start on her terrible two’s… got a stubborn streak a mile wide
i’m so proud of her
bela and friends
We had bursts of rain, and occasional sunshine. The builders did not come to work on the deck today, or yesterday, but one can hope. We had a picnic night out at a local brewery where one can bring food. Great beer and my cold leftovers from last night. Pesto chicken and deviled eggs.
That’s why doG made barbed wire, meat hooks and duct tape. :-P
yum! were the builders supposed to come yesterday or today?
hey that guy — laughing — her mom is going away for a girl’s weekend and she told me today that she is really really looking forward to 5 childless days :)
how’s the south bay tonight?
Heh! So funny. MsCE had the most pouty look ever at 18 months. What a strong-willed baby!.
a celtic medley
If anyone is wondering, Alan Grayson is pretty much a shoe-in for the next congress. Although he was running unopposed, he made sure he took out the one person who may have been a threat; a republican Hispanic, by supporting a republican candidate he can beat hands down.
My, for all intents and purposes, socialist didn’t get many votes.
On the bright side, Sandy Adams, a teabagger is out of there; however, John Mica is still in.
Just any day they can to build this marvelous deck after the tree fell down and crushed MsCE’s car. We asked them to build a deck, with railing (that should be next), tear out the door and replace with a window, and tear out the windows and replace with a sliding double glass door. Whew!
hey tuez — how ya doing tonight?
Wow! That is great news! Shhhhh— it is LLN.
hope it gets fixed fast ce — you want it done before the winter snows for sure
ya’ll can talk about whatever ya’ll wanna talk about ce — that’s what lln is all about
South Bay is here…not much going on…but I had sugar free low-carb cookies…if ya know whut ah ean
I would love to spend autumn on the deck. Though, given the drought, who knows what the leaves/trees will be like. The trees in the cemetery (which I drive through twice a day) are so stressed that they are brown already. We may have a fall without leaves! That would be very strange.
sounds like a good way to end your evening dood
We do occasionally speak of the devil at LLN. I’m not thrilled with Alan Grayson’s fealty for the DNC but he’s one of the few good guys we’ve got. I’m really pissed I got gerrymandered out of his district, into what is now John Mica’s.
Can I sue for lack of representation?
would be nice to spend a wee bit of summer on the deck too
i’ve got my fingers and toes crossed its repaired soon ce
Thanks Suzanne.
Please give us Alan Grayson again.
*heh* I’m distracting him with some beef stew I’d made for supper tonite, mashed up…! I’m stoked that he was clapping his hands and devouring it…! He knows good food when he tastes it…! ;-)
speaking of the devil
And sing, CT, singing always helps.
*heh* He’s pissed I’m not shoveling it in faster…! I had to stop after each word, btw…! ;-)
scratch and sniff
Hi Suz and llners! Good to see you all.
hey bg — how’s nm tonight?
We had a little cool down, a squall, for a few minutes tonight. The days just fly by, so much work to do. I forgot an appointment I made today, crap. Too much to do. I’ll try to reschedule it, totally too much going on.
yikes — not good when you are that busy… are you getting any down time at all?
Hey all! Surprise, I’m still up…somight aswell say hi!
Bgrothus–you’re not in jail, eh? Got a court date for the Aug. 6 protest pinching?
tejan! awake even! how ya doing tonight?
Hey you!
shit.. weather dood says 94 tomorrow with a low of 78 and then 100 both thur and friday
fuck
No jail this week, no court date yet. We have a foreclosed home we are defending, but I have not been there the last few days.
I cooked a big pot of Roma tomatoes into sauce tonight, had a big harvest of those a few days ago. With the little squall, it seemed like I could tolerate the stove.
I am thinking of checking the bushes in a little bit for the raccoon family that’s been around lately. Peaches getting ready to harvest.
Good now…prolly not in the morning. Hi CE, everybody…Bgrothus– glad you’re still among the free. I so admire your guts.
And now, looking at the time, I’ll just say how nice it is to see Suzanne back on the job at LLN, and drag off to bed.
turns out i’ve got raccoons too… there is a big hedge between me and my neighbor to the right and i think they use the hedge as a pathway at night. i keep a close eye on token when he’s out saving a tree because part of the yard is not fenced
he’s feeling good tonight –he got to nose bump with a big orange cat tonight when we were taking our nightly walk
aw thanks tejan — tis good to feel like i’m me again. am diving again on sat nights but there’s a lotta splash — i’m way outta practice and still some wee problems with the knee and foot lining up right….. betcha i can do a hellacious cannonball tho
g’nite tejan
flying saucer dudes
Hey Suzanne, congratulations on getting back to “your event.” I’ve been missing your bitchin’ about the Bulgarian judges. ;-)
hey wigwam – how’s the inland empire tonight? i’m been splashing so much even that bulgarian forker took pity on me.
Hi Folks. Well it looks like I made it here before Suzanne dropped off the radar. Yea!
It was another nice cool foggy day in San Francisco.
I just got him to sleep…! Did everybody else nod off too…? 8-(
hey spocko — so good to see your fonts in real time instead of the next morning.
how was your day?
106 yesterday, but only 101 today. It’s supposed to cool off even more tomorrow. I spend the daytime indoors and go out and about at night.
looks like some did tut… that’s some powerful lullaby you were singing
Right now I’m trying to fix my Father-in-law’s computer.
It’s really a tough nut to crack. The hard drive isn’t working and I can’t get to the stored data on it-including the XP rescue disk that only lives on the hard drive! The deal is that the companies don’t want to give you the OS on a disk so they put it a hidden part of the disk. Of course when the HD goes bad (as in the Master book record has an error) you can’t get to the recovery software -which is on the hard disk.
Very annoying.
So now I’m trying to get to the software with a tool that looks at the disk, but I have to try and do it with a live CD of Linux!
And I don’t know enough about linux to compile a driver for the SCSI adapter to get to the MBR and fix the corruption.
ugh – i hope you have a/c
Nod off to sleep! i just finished dinner.
Lurvs me that Bela Fleck. I once had dinner with the band and did not realize till i was half way through the meal.
i don’t know a thang about linux — isn’t there another way to get the info off the drive?
Again Biden forces Obama’s hand, just like he did on gay marriage:
It’ll be interesting watching two Catholics go at each other in the Veep debates. Maybe they could get John Fugelsang to moderate.
hey homer — how forking kewl!!! when was that?
Yes, but it doesn’t quite keep up, so the house gets into the lower 80s during the day.
I’m working on another un-patented Spocko schemes.
I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about the whole gun issue from the point of view of who business.
Who makes money on shootings?
When there is a shooting there is fear and the weapons manufacturers and the NRA use that fear to sell more guns. And then they donate part of that money back to the NRA to promote more guns.
So, who else could make money after a shooting?
Body armor makers
Home security makers
guard dogs (or just dogs.)
Who else?
People SAY that they get a gun to “protect me and my family”
But wouldn’t a better form of protection be getting them body armor they can wear all the time while out and about?
What about security systems, a guard dog and body armor?
And, for head shots, ballistic helmets.
Now people might say, “That’s silly. It’s uncomfortable and an over reaction to wear body armor all the time when the odds of you getting shot aren’t that high.”
Well I can say the same about people doing conceal carry.
You see I want them to acknowledge that it’s not REALLY about self defense, or protecting my family. It’s really about the need to feel in control of lethal force. It is the OFFENSIVE power that is what they crave. Plus the FUN of having the fantasy of how YOU will react when the shooter opens up on the crowd in the movie.
It’s not good enough if your vest saves you. To be really cool you have to “take ‘em out” just like on TV and the movies.
I’m thinking of developing this angle further. thoughts?
ah-ah-95? at the Ironhorse in North Hampton Mass. My older brother had something to do with the deception.
i don’t have a/c — low 80′s inside sounds wonderful…
i like the body armor analogy
still forking kewl…. and ya did find out before the meal was over :)
And we got the best seats in the house,on the stairs which are right infront of the stage with a view.
le sigh
I also saw John Stewart at this same venue.
i’m gonna have to get out my jealous glare *laughing*
tis about time for token to save a tree. thanks for letting me hang out with ya tonight.
g’nite all
Save a tree. thanks Suz. Nite
