Most of us have been meeting a variety of people through the Internet who we never would meet in life. It’s easy to get online, anywhere, and some of the people we get to know are actually nearby, although most are in incredibly diverse places and of diverse circumstances, than we would ever meet in our daily lives.
In recent years I’ve gotten to meet up close and personally some of the people I’ve met online, here and at other blogs. It’s been a pleasure, enriching my life more than I could ever say. Without the Internet, I suspect, things would be much darker for me. Of course, as most of you know, I’m presently here in NW PA spending time with an incredibly dear friend. Do not even want to think about what my life would be without some of the contacts, and especially those who I’ve met online. An early boost was meeting Avedon and getting to know her, and then being able to actually spend time with her in London.
Is a major portion of your life now wrapped up in the friends you’ve met online? Many of you on this post are folks I met right here at FDL and are people I never could have met someplace else. Without you, my life would be much less full imho. It’s been a surprising pleasure to get to know people online, then get together in life, finding out what seemed possible – though at first a little scary – could actually be a real friendship.
My friend spudtruckowner, the one I’m staying with at present, has more than once told me he’s been a little surprised, but not at all shocked, to meet people he knew online and find out they were as they’d seemed here, and are even better friends than he’d hoped.
The hazards of Internet meeting, of course, are real. And just as you’ve been taken in by someone either in friendship or in other ways in real life, it can happen through online meetings. The world is full of hoaxes, and some people use the Internet to cheat, just as they would in person. In fact, some of my friends and I had a meetup once that did have someone included who turned out to be running a scam. That false note quickly came out, leaving us all sadder albeit wiser. The friendships we all had together didn’t lose out, but we now share this saddening experience.
Have you met people through the Internet that you are happier for knowing? I ought to tell you, I’d be a much less happy person without mornings shared here at Lakeside Diner. What about your experience? From the things we talk about here, I’d be surprised if anyone on PUAC thinks their time has been wasted getting into the sort of exchanges we have.
One of the ways I’ve started planning trips is trying to work in places where my new Internet friends are located. It’s pretty exciting to get together and share where I’ve gone recently, including Portland, Oregon for the first time, and a terrific visit to Croatia.
Has what you learned from your Internet encounters gotten you to visit places you hadn’t ever thought of going to before?
I can’t imagine what I’d be doing right now if you weren’t here for me. Thanks! I can’t wait to hear from you.

About Firedoglake
Morning, pups.
Hey Low!, Ruth Calvo!
(Do I know you?)
Not mentioning the (political) topic, but are you watching UP? We thought we wouldn’t see Mr. Hayes for another week.
For years, yes. We have yet to actually meet, looking forward to it.
Edit; watching. Fun, for all that it’s a tad political.
I haven’t mentioned this for a while, so you might not know, but I met my husband at Match.Com. We started by chatting online, then on the phone and then we met. The first date lasted 8 hours. We met for appetizers and a beer, then walked and talked, then shot pool and talked then went to a club and sat outside listening to live acoustic music and talked, then went inside the club and danced and went outside and talked. The staff kicked us out at 2 am.
A fairly successful date. :)
Happy Saturday!
Good morning and thank you, Ruth for a lovely post. We have had the good fortune to meet many firepups past and present. There has not been a disapointment. I think my favorite is Magaret. Truly an extraordinary human being.
I’ve yet to meet anyone from the net but I always thought it would be cool to have an FDL hoodie and run into someone else wearing one.
Gonna be hard to keep politics out of this discussion this morning.
Fine to know, and like spud, I feel like I’ve known people online for years when we do actually meet face to face.
RUTH!!!
been meaning to tell a story and I didn’t know how
I have been taken in by a hoax that is simply incredible in how absolutely brazen;
as many might know, I lost my dad about two years ago, he had a robust antique business and acquired museum quality antiquities
I needed to liquidate most of his estate for sibling distribution and after we sold off many of the items through auction, the rest of the holdings were too vast to do on an individual basis
so we contracted with an “estate liquidator”
BIG MISTAKE
estate liquidators enjoy a loophole in the law known as “the right of possession”
this “estate liquidator” began at once selling off our possessions behind our back, without documentation and without remitting payment, when confronted he wrote checks only to cancel them
going to the police does not help in this matter since he “has the right of possession” we have to sue
the law suit is going to take over a year at quite a bit of financial expense and he willd declare bankruptcy when we prevail
got him through the internent
while I have been going public on shout sites to prevent others from falling for this con, he has a pretty good knowledge for removing negative posts
I did due diligence, got my certificate of insurance however insurance doesn’t cover deliberate acts by the insured, in addition, this guy actually didn’t even pay the premiums.
nightmare
tough stuff for us, there is quite a bit more then what I’ve posted here but I I am getting it off my chest
I know there are some lawyers that visit here at the lake, maybe someone can give insight, I do have council and have spoken to quite a few, for now all it seems I can do is sue, try to turn this into a matter of fraud to get it out of civil court, and there is quite a bit of fraud here
so, sorry to unload but there it is
Like this?

I “liked” UP on Facebook and now I see a post every week with the upcoming (no pun intended) guests.
Good morning, everyone. Gloomy morning chez msmolly. Off to the Farmer’s Market and then a very busy day. A neighbor who gets a weekly CSA basket gave it to me (I have to drive to pick it up) this week because she’s away. I will get a basket full of veggies (and fruit?), some of which I’ll not recognize, probably.
And in response to Ruth, I feel just about as close friends with some of the regular folks here as the ones I know in person.
Oh, perris, that is just awful. You have to deal with this on top of the grief of losing your father.
Sorry to hear it, and yes, the internet has provided a space where some fraudulent sorts have a field to operate, this sounds like a major one. Anyone who expects the law to protect them from loss ought to be warned, an incorporated ‘person’ or business can declare bankruptcy and keep what they owe you.
G’Morning, Moll
What’s a CSA basket?
You are a busybusybusy girl. Always.
Have a great basketfull! and thanks, yes, we probably know each other as well here, and talk about as much that matters, as with most friends and neighbors.
speaking of meeting
I live in li new york, anyone want to organize an fdl picnik, I’m in
After I was divorced (1990) I tried Match.com and a couple of other reputable matchmaking sites. What I discovered was that all of the men wanted arm candy 20 years younger. I was 47 and the men within 5 years of my age all wanted 25-year-olds. I went on a couple of meetups and they were a bust. So I figured if I was going to meet anyone, it probably would be in person. I have lots of friends, male and female, and had one relationship that didn’t work out for either of us. But I’ve had a good life and I am content, and probably set in my ways now.
have to head off to work, hope everyone has a GREAT weekend and thanks all for letting me let off steam
see all later
Good idea, and maybe some one else here is near you, so you can start working on it.
myself have never been married, only fell in love two times, neither would have me (I am a pain in the butt once you get to know me)
anyway, off to work
I read an article about eleven years ago by Umberto Eco wherein he was writing about the benefits of the internet. He warned however that people should use the interet as a jumping off point, to get information and connect with others, but then to go out into the real world with face to face contact for further education and action.
CSA is Community Supported Agriculture. I don’t know how they all work, but with this one you either have a working membership ao you help with the planting, harvesting, boxing, etc. or you just have a subscription membership that entitles you to a share of the harvest during the growing season.
EDIT: everyone shares the harvest, but the working membership costs less because of the work you contribute.
Good morning all you pupses. Thank you for the post Ruth.
Perris, I’m terribly sorry to hear what you’re going through. I hope the justice system can give you some relief.
Ruth, great topic. I’ve only ever met up with a few folks that I first met on the nets, and they were all from FDL. I was not disappointed a bit, and actually feel closer to those folks and even more inspired by their activism and their courage. Kit, Siun’s son, is an amazing person. I’m proud to know him. greenwarrior is pretty awesome, too.
These folks wouldn’t be in my life were it not for the web, and firedoglake in particular. I’m grateful for that.
The internet can get us in trouble, too. I’ve never gone through anything as serious as perris is going through now, but I’ve had my share of bullshit stem from the web. I’ve learned to be a lot more careful over the last 10 years, and I’ve learned to not define myself personally by my online adventures. I got really wrapped up in that happy crappy years ago and it hurt me and a lot of other folks.
I heard a few horror stories about online dating. I really lucked out.
We hit it off right away, obviously, but we had a common love of politics, music and food. Same age, etc. At that time, Sonny was 8 and I was particularly looking for someone who would work for both of us.
Thanks. Thats a fine program.
G’Morning Oldnslow and KrisA
I’m still hoping to visit Texas some day. So many nice folks from FDL there.
You could make a real tour of it. There are firedogs from El Paso to Houston and a bunch of places in between.
I always assumed I’d find someone, not necessarily interested in marriage again, just a close relationship, but it just didn’t happen. I have a good relationship with my ex, two great children with lovely spouses, and 8 grandchildren. My life is full and I’ve had more than most, including a mid-life career and a comfortable retirement.
I would love to meet some other FDL friends in person, though.
Good morning.
Come on down! You surely would be welcome.
We do still have family in California and the CBL will probably visit her sister in Sacramento later this year. I have had no desire to go back there since we left 8 and a half years ago.
I saw this infowars article about an attempt by the military to repeal Posse Comitatus. It struck me.
With all the talk of eliminating the military from the foreign battlefields with an increased use of drones…
Is the MIC now pushing for a new “revenue stream” using American soil?
Maybe you and demi could visit Texas at the same time. Austin really is the coolest place in the country.
Why not ask folks at the post you were reading? sorry, PUAC isn’t political, but we welcome to discuss with us online meetings if you like (the topic today).
Hey there Ruth. I too have met some fine people online and have the pleasure of meeting several of them in the flesh. I had a perfectly wonderful lunch with oldnslow and the lovely CBL. No doubt if I still lived in Austin, we’d see a lot more of each other. I’ve also met up with internet friends in DC. One of these days I’m going to make it to Colorado and meet Kelly Canfield who was probably my first internet friend.
Thanks for the post Ruth, Good Morning!
Gotta scoot. Have a great day, everyone.
That’s a great idea! I’m thinking Not. During. Summer. :)
Molly – we’ll have to put our brains together and plan. I can start saving a nickel here and there. It would be So Awesome.
Awww! Now I’m blushing! I think the world of you guys too!
Maybe we can all do something in TX – after summer is over, indeed!
Sorry… didn’t know that. Just jumped at me and wanted to share. Will avoid in the future though. Was wondering if PUAC was different from the morning news posts. Anyway, thanks for letting me know. :)
The first FDLer I met was Loo Hoo. Years ago during summer, Christy had urged us to make appointments and meet with our reps. Loo Hoo’s is Daryl Issa and she said she was going to see him, but didn’t want to go alone. It was a bit of a drive for me, but I met up with her, we ended up meeting Issa’s staff something, and then we had lunch together.
And, then Loo Hoo organized a meet up which mr.demi and I attended. We met about 6 or 7 pups. The only one I met who is stilla regular was Newtonuser. It was lots of fun, though.
If you ever come home! :)
Damn Perris! That’s truly loathsome. I guess it’s my good fortune not to be related to anybody who is/was wealthy enough to require an estate liquidator. The lowest scam I think I’ve seen is when I was unemployed, there were numerous ads for “jobs with overseas “firms” which wanted me to collect money that they claim is owed them, deposit it into my account and then wire them money from my account. The sad thing is that there are and were so many desperate people out there suffering in the economy that the big banks blew up, that many must have been taken in by what was essentially and ad to launder their money at no risk to the overseas people. Truly abominable.
LMAO! Right? Crank up that ol’ spud truck and we can meet both of you fine folks in the flesh!
Yes, I ran into that too, back when I was still looking. Unfortunately, there are a lot of folks, desperate like you said, but also naive and not seeing the Red Flags.
Gotta second that. Austin is truly unique.
Well, that will happen for sure in Sept, but after that no promises. No more summers in 100F+, that is sure.
loohoo is delightful.
When the annual professional left gathering was in Austin a few years back we went to a dinner and met several dozen firepups. It was incredible. Emptywheel, bluetexan, Jim White, eCAHN, NDFG, the aforementioned loohoo, watertiger, Dave Neiwert, and several dozen more. Very memorable.
Yep. And what recourse do they have? Truly sad and disgusting that others would prey on people like that. If they did the same thing to other Chinese citizens, they’d probably be executed.
I especially enjoy and appreciate the ways pups help each other out.
I mentioned at the Diner that I was going to have to figure out a way to preserve a Ton of tomatoes, and Molly sent me an article written by Toby Wollin with directions.
We see that quite often here, I think.
I’m beginning to think that my sister who moved to Montana had the right idea. Course I’ll be doing the gloating in January!
Didn’t take the internets for fraud attempts on the desperate. Long long ago, my ex answered a job ad and was told he’d have to sell real estate to people who ‘didn’t need, didn’t want and couldn’t afford’ it. And I recently got one of those offers to use my bank account to launder others’ scams.
I wouldn’t have made it if not for the generosity of some firepups. Truly humbling to be in the presence of such remarkable and selfless people.
Maybe this fall then? We could meet half way. Like, say, lunch on the river in Waco?
I remember that gathering being mentioned here. Quite a list of wonderfuls, for certain. I bet when CBL gets up, she can find the photo.
Maybe? She is another amazing pupster.
And, I’ve long felt that if for some reason we ended moving to the Austin area, that mr and me would get along so well with you and cbl.
Nice topic, Ruth! I am sure some of my FDL friends will be lovely to meet, and I look forward to the opportunity!
I believe PUAC was the place where I first began to become acquainted with on-line community.
FDL has a number of hangouts that I enjoy, and I have to say the hosts/posters are largely responsible for the friendliness that is so abundant at FDL. I’d like to make a shout out to all of those who have reached out through the comments to make us all feel welcome.
I don’t have much time now to spend here as I have in the past. But my list of people I would like to meet in person after hanging and lurking for many years is very long!
Yikes! I think Douglas Adams had the right idea about the “B” ship….
Look out, you know that Proustian advice, be careful what you wish for?
Lemme know when and I’ll make it up there.
Though I mostly lurk, I’ve met a number of people through FDL (when Suzanne used to live down here and held her Bear Creek meetups) and through other somewhat obscure online interest groups as well. Though I’m careful not to harbor any expectations, almost without exception it’s been like ‘meeting’ nice people I already know. I know my life would be much narrower without these contacts.
See? And, I sometimes joke about yours and my humility. :)
Life is just so challenging, and it warms my heart to know all of you are out there, with your big hearts, your critically thinking brains and cleverness.
Absolutely, we must. And Waco water is famous! but for all the wrong things (it’s something in the water down there).
Barbara, can you share that photo of you that you posted at the Diner. We have people here who can’t make mornings during the week, who I think would enjoy the photo and the article.
As long as it’s not at the Waco Denny’s….
Hey, yeah! I’d kinda like to see that too.
Heh. Denny’s.
Great! and I was delighted to find out you also have connections to NM nuclear scene, as I do.
Of course.
demi,
I’ll let the now awake CBL know you want pics, pics, pics, dammit. :)
OK pups, off to start my day. Have a wonderful weekend all.
Thanks again Ruth. (and I won’t forget about a meet-up)
Welcome, and as noted, we all have friends we would never have met, the company here among them, making our lives richer.
Something tells me there’s a story there I don’t wanna experience first hand. We have to get something solid as a plan, and incidentally I know a Visitors Center in Waco, where I once stopped to get directions on the way to Austin. Next door; TX rangers museum location. So no one can miss it.
Ooh! Forgot to say and since we aren’t having caturday anymore, this is a good place: Yesterday a tornado went right across the roof of my building. There was a storm on the way so I got up to turn off the electronics and when I got into the living room, I saw the trash and debris swirling around underneath the funnel, though I didn’t see the funnel itself, coming toward me across the parking lot. I freaked out about the same time Kuroneko did. It took all my strength but I managed to get the glass door open to equalize the pressure, though others around here weren’t so lucky. Then I yanked the cord to the surge protector out of the wall, scooped up ‘Neko and shoved her into the kitty crate, grabbed my purse and keys and fled downstairs. The funnel had passed by the time I got all the way to the ground. I went back upstairs and released the cat and do you know, rather than spending the evening sulking and being mad at me for unceremoniously cramming her into her crate, she was the sweetest thing you can imagine. I think she knew we had a near miss and was grateful for me trying to protect her.
You mean this?
I am becoming a hardened criminal. . .getting arrested this time is going to be a longer process and will end up with jail time, I think. Oh well.
WHAT?? No more Caturday? I miss a week and now it is gone? Nooooo.
Smart cat. Like mommy, like kitty.
Sheesh, Peg. You’ve had a couple scary events at that apartment.
Yep. I’m sure it takes a lot out of him to be doing both the Diner and caturday so I get it. I’ll miss it though.
Glad you got through that without damage. Neko has cat powers, and no doubt is aware you were saving her from worse disturbance.
Yeah. I think the universe wants me back in Austin too. Or at least out of this apartment!
Think of the folks you’ll meet there! Actually, a friend of mine was actually forced to spend a weekend in jail by a mistake in the court system, that ignored she had been charged with a traffic offense and turned up for the appearance demanded, all a huge mess, but met really kind and concerned people there.
See? You pick up on the red flags.
It does seem to be a nudge, doesn’t it?
She was sooo sweet all night. Sitting on the table and watching me cook rather than sharking at me. Allowing me to scritch her ears instead of going into attack mode as usual. She’s back to he ornery self today though, attacking the stuffed Taz over the bed.
I was at Netroots Nation in Austin that year since it was local. It was amazing just talking to people cuz they were so informed.
I’d like to meet sometime in Austin if anyone else is so inclined.
dunno about making it to Waco, but I might
Thanks, Barbara, for sharing that photo. It’s so inspiring! So proud of you.
Look out, if she moves you’re responsible. And in case of disaster, you will hear about it! (snark)
Good morning Ruth, what a great topic.
Good morning everyone, I am a little late today. My excuse is that we have some of the grandchildren and they kept us up late last night.
That is my excuse and I am sticking to it.
demi,
What a great story about meeting your husband.
I don’t think you need an excuse. I’m just glad you made it! I slept in a bit too.
She knows which side her hurricane shelter is buttered on. Or something like that.
Welcome, and we’re working on it. Austin is a good place to be in so many ways.
What a nightmare for you at a time when you are grieving the loss of a loved one.
Thank you for sharing the experience. I have three estates in the basement without much room to roam down there, but your helping me understand your experience gives me some insight on what I should NOT do in the liquidation of stuff that certainly is not as valuable as what you have/had to deal with.
Thanks Margaret.
Thanks. And, speaking of spouses, how’s your dear lady these days?
Thanks for making it this a.m., seems like you also got helpful info. Contracts are stupid things, to fraudulent businesscretins.
I think all the Texans here can say Austin is pretty much da bomb. Lotsa great places to eat in Austin too, like Rosie’s Tamale House.
Ruth, I gotta take off, but I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do at the Lake, including Being On The Sunny Side!
And, to all the other sweetie pies, have a wonderful weekend.
Mwa!
Incidentally, above’s a post about the Veep pick (ooops, politics)
and spud says re; TX, ‘BTDT’
Is there anything he hasn’t done? Sounds to me like a renaissance man.
Good Saturday to you, and thanks, my pleasure.
Good Morning online friends and acquaintances.
Short political warning: I’ve just got in from distributing brochures for my state district favorite candidate. Hit two early farmer markets. Primary is a month earlier this year in an “R,” attempt to suppress the largely democratic student vote in WI.
Communicating and reading here has contributed to my education and sanity on many levels. I’m guessing there might be a few pups scattered around this island, but for the moment, income and fatherhood are going to be limiting any even regional travel for a meet up.
“Been There, Done That”? Spuds! Come on! It’s the one bright spot we have since Stevie and Molly died. :(
So glad you’re out there, doing something badly needed for all of us. Thanks.
Good morning, all! I’m supposed to be out taking care of Saturday business, but needed to look up an address, and well, couldn’t not check out PUAC.
Spurious! Haven’t seen your fonts in awhile! So many firepups who help me get through the bad news and misfortunes of life.
Ruth…every summer for twenty-seven years I’ve said, “I’ve got to move north.” So far I haven’t done it. But this summer…radio said, as I was getting up, temp will be 105 degrees today. I’ve actually been looking up admission requirements in certain eastern states. I don’t qualify for “waiving in”, as it’s called, because of my long recent non-licensing status. Don’t know that I could pass another bar exam, and really don’t wanna find out.
Peg- had no idea there was a tornado in town last night. Shouldn’t be surprised, though; as I left work I was suprised to see the black clouds to the north and west, and heard the severe thunderstorm warning. Drove into strong winds, whipping dust and debris and trees around, but it never did rain where I am.
So glad it skipped over you! But maybe the universe is telling you a new home might be in order….
I turned on Up, btw, but when they went to the battleship scene, (which of course they had to do), I switched over to the movie on AMC. Can’t handle it…the impotent rage was bubbling up.
Another reason to drop by PUAC.
I will so miss Caturday, too, but absolutely understand why our Dragon friend needed a day off.
We are doing things as she can. She is on 23 different meds and taking them in the morning and night is a chore but they are all health maintenance meds and each time I talk to the Dr. about dropping some of them his answer is no. I am lucky to have her, I keep telling her she has nine lives and this is about #5.
Ruth, I thank you so much for the post.
Someday I will share a story with the firepups much like your topic today about meeting people on the internet. I will make sure you are on the thread.
Not about my wife, we were in H.S. together but your topic today brought back memories.
Glad you dropped in, and know what you mean, I’ve been saying every summer that This Is It, and the last one actually was. Not coming back until the second week in September.
Hope she can be okay, not easy but it’s worth hanging in there.
AC2, so sorry, I didn’t realize your wife was sick. I miss more threads than I make these days. Glad she is able to get her meds and wish her the best.
Ruth – well, you picked a good summer to stay away. Actually, there’ve been a few weeks when we’ve been cooler than the northern climes that usually don’t see this kind of heat, but when it comes, whew! Supposedly hit 106 downtown yesterday. I know when I came back from lunch, and had to park in the farthest lot (we have 3 possibles on our parking contract), I really felt it walking to the office. Then discovered my phone had fallen out in the car and had to go right back to get it….thought I was gonna die. All of 2 blocks total. And I stood in the one shady spot for a few seconds, too!
Keep forgetting to say, a Texas firepup meetup sounds awesome. Got lost trying to find the last one; never got there.
I don’t think Waco is the beauty spot of the world, but the people are the point. And I’m used to driving now. ;) In fact, this week I got a buncha work done on the car, so it’s trustworthy for a good little drive.
Last summer the heat dome sat over me all three months, not going to be in for that again. Of course, I’m right below OK, so it’s doing that to my house again, and I’m wimping out. Will need to get a place to get together, Waco isn’t your ultimate destination but it is in the middle, between Dallas and Austin.
I understand completely about the heat. Funny, I thought I would make the kinda money that would allow me to spend at least part of summers on, say, Martha’s Vineyard. :(. Oh well. thank dog for air conditioning, or I’d've never lasted this long.
Oddly, I haven’t even been to Dallas since I drove through on my way to live here. also thought I’d visit there from time to time, as I had actually done from Oklahoma.
Well, I’d better get on with the day’s tasks. Lovely visiting with you all.
You’re not wimping out at all. If I had the option to relocate north while the heat is on, I’d do it in two tenths of a second!
I think I ran ahead of the clock this time. Last summer, after noon I only went out a few minutes two or three times a day, with a water bucket to keep the garden from frying.
I’m pretty much stuck in the house in the afternoon.
Yesterday, it was so sticky and warm, even though I walked at 7:00, I was — what is it, they say men sweat and women what? There’s a nice Southern term that’s not quite as gross as “sweat”. Anyway, that’s what I was. Yuck.
I’ve got little projects I try to make myself get through. I’m ready to re-paint the LR floor, and yes, it would dry fast, but I’d have to have the windows open for the fumes to go bye bye. It’s supposed to cool down to the high 90′s, Big Ha!, but I could work a few hours in the morning.
You do realize that I’ve had to take on Sonny’s chores. Oh, poor me. (That’s snark, babe.) He does have chores, but, not many. Life’s pretty simple at this house. Relatively speaking.
I may not be what Molly said that most guys are looking for…eye candie, but I have a green thumb, and I can cook. And, I like to keep things simple, which at this age and stage makes for good.
In case anyone peeps in, my CSA basket had LOTS of interesting stuff this morning:
10 ears of corn,
2 kinds of beets
a big bunch of basil
a small red cabbage
a container of assorted heirloom tomatoes
cucumbers, a couple of “normal” green ones, and 3 or 4 small stubby fat yellow ones
a small summer squash
several sweet peppers
10 white onions
baby lettuces
a big bunch of kale
WOW!
Poor L.A. people, I’m watching that heat wave you have going, looks like a royal pain. Also, in Dallas area, there are big AQ warnings, though they don’t go so far north as my house. Today, we’re in the 60′s, sorrreeee.
The word may be ‘perspire’ or ‘shine’, I’ve heard both versions. Women don’t sweat, men don’t cry … right.
Us in our late 60′s don’t qualify as eye candies, for sure, but we are reliable which counts for something. Or we have depth. Or something. Plus cook.
Men sweat, women GLOW! (At least that’s the phrase I remember.)
Oh, boy. I’ll be right over.
I think she’s got it! Okay, glow sounds more like it.
Chicks!
Glow is the word I was searching for. But, truth be told, I was Sweating.
And, Molly, you got a fine catch there. Now all you have to do is figure out what to do with all that.
Everything in the slow cooker I say. Freeze small portions and add to pasta or rice. Whoops, sorry Molly. Add to chicken. :)
Things to do now, thanks for good company. See you all later.
Chow Chow, Ruth.
Nappy time for me. :)
With pretzels, milk and Brindle.
