Hey, CT…. how’s your evening going. Been a lovely quiet day (two in a row!!!) down here on the left coast. Lovely. And some nice belly laughs over what our possible future preznit is doing around the world. Poland, here he comes!
Ouch! I have the same problem. The time I stepped on a yellow-jacket nest and was stung all over my head and arms, my doctor told me to soak tobacco in water and put the poltice all over the stings. It worked like a dream.
A friend that was here at the time this happened, said he mentioned to me to try tobacco but I didn’t hear him-I think I was too worried about how many days/weeks it was gonna itch like hell. But I never expected the swelling in my hand and arm. Never had that happen before. Interestingly, I also got stung on the back of my neck and all that did was form a bump, itchy, but just a bump. If my neck had swollen the way my hand and arm did, I’d have ended up in the ER.
Very scary, and I panicked too. But as a former smoker, I had a pack hidden in the medicine cabinet and ripped it open. I still have at least most of it still. I love honey bees, but hate yellow jackets.
Hey CT! Quite lovely, with nice temps. 91 expected tomorrow, and the mister is pushing me to sleep. We are having a deck built where the tree fell down on MsCE’s car. It should take up a major part of the back lawn, and provide new stairs to the driveway. It only took 31 years…
Well, what’s interesting is that everyone kind of acknowledged that Shrub was a limited-commodity, but we’ve had months of folks trying to make Mittster out as some kind of business leader/whiz kid. The man is weirdly weird. Empty. Thoughtless. Disengaged. Tactless. What are the R’s selling here? And how in the hell are they getting away with it????
I didn’t really panic, as much as I dreaded the itching I knew to be coming. I considered panicking later in the day when the swelling went 3/4 of the way to my elbow. I had visions of going into respiratory distress in the middle of the night if it went past my shoulder, which is when I finally started hitting the Benadryl hard.
When I heard him state that the Israeli’s were wealthy because of their frugality, I was like WTF. Does he not know that is disparaging? How could one grow up in this country and not know what that truly means?
Oh, when cleaning out a closet today I found my baby book. For the first time in at least decades, if not ever, I actually looked through it. Evidently, I was superbaby. I was eating solid food at 3 days (I assume it was baby food at 3 months) and could pick my head up before leaving the hospital at 2 or 3 days old.
He really is stupid. He also commended their health care system. Which, by the way, you and I and anyone who pays one penny of taxes helps pay for. I’m starting to get quite cranky about how my taxes help the Israelies be so ‘assertive’…. and pompous. And I’m wondering why my taxes pay to kill innocent people in the Middle East but my taxes can’t help needy people in America. What’s up with that?? Maybe I’m just tired and cranky. But I think I’m pretty rational, and I’m getting pissed off. Ya know?
I had dinner with some neocon relatives and asked them to give me some reasons that I should vote for Romney. They each quoted Rush/Rove type talking points. I can’t think of many good reasons to vote for Obama, but I know I won’t be voting for Romney. He’s a total dolt.
Jon Stewart is skewering Mittster regarding his gaffes in London. Well, I, for one, am laughing out loud. Something about….” the book of Moron.” and such like. Mitt the Twit was one of the nicer headlines.
*g*….. I know, I know. I’ve played catch with my grandboys a bit…. and they have powerful arms for almost-4 year olds. But they are short, and I am not, so I have to be careful to avoid their low throws! I’m trying to teach them to play catch with each other…… then I’ll get to sit nearby sipping some iced tea while they get some exercise.
And they are so cute that I cannot resist! I actually look forward to seeing every soccer game they play, for example. There is, in my humble opinion, nothing quite so delightfully amusing as 5 year old soccer…… it’s like a school of fish wafting across the field! So cute!
thanks, tuez. I enjoyed raising my own kids too. Most people I know didn’t seem to enjoy child-rearing as much as I did. And grandmothering is sooooo much easier! I’m loving it. Off to Montana soon to see the other three. It’s just been an abundance of grandkids. Makes me smile.
I have to laugh. So many of my friends and I despaired…… would our kids ever breed???! And then I ended up with 5 grandkids in 4 years. Fun! My dad is almost 95 and all of a sudden he’s got 7 great-grandkids. Such a hoot. And we’re all having fun.
Gold Dust Woman is one of my favs of all time. Just wondering why no one mentioned the best guitar in the world making a guest appearance w/ Gov’t Mule. Trucks and Warren Haynes watched in awe.
Gold Dust Woman…

Aloha, Dearie…! It’s been mighty soggy today, I hope it clears up for my nite up top on Weds., and it’ll be a full moon…! ;-)
War Pigs…
Soulshine is one of my all time faves.
Enjoy The Silence…
hey, tuez, how’s everything going in your world?
Well, I pissed off a couple of wasps on Saturday. I think my hand should be back to normal size by tomorrow. The itching though…
Isn’t it amazing that someone like Witless Mittens, who one assumes is well traveled, can be so clueless about other cultures?
Aloha, tuez…! I tried to find some ‘threelegged mule’ for homeroid, and ran across that cool clip with all those stars jamming with Warren…! ;-)
Hey CT. Did you get the Krugman recommendation I left after hours yesterday?
Ouch! I have the same problem. The time I stepped on a yellow-jacket nest and was stung all over my head and arms, my doctor told me to soak tobacco in water and put the poltice all over the stings. It worked like a dream.
I really like them too.
My iPod is rather eclectic.

Aloha, wigwam, I sure did, I’m a fan of Civil Wars too, I’d featured them before… Barton Hollow…
Aloha, Christine…! How’s Cleveland tonite…?
Very scary, and I panicked too. But as a former smoker, I had a pack hidden in the medicine cabinet and ripped it open. I still have at least most of it still. I love honey bees, but hate yellow jackets.
Here’s the best clip I could find of Three Legged Mule… Rebel Yell… I wouldn’t mind watching ‘em live…! ;-)
the mitt-man is beginning to make George-the-Lesser look smart. And that’s damned scary.

evening, CT – firegods — how’s everyone tonight?
*heh* I swear Shrub couldn’t possibly commit as many gaffes, even if he’d tried…! ;-)
Aloha, PPD…! How’s your slice of Cali tonite…?
*heh* Persistence does pay off…! ;-)
My view: Mitt’s running for R president nominee by channeling Sarah Palin, VP candidate from Hell — all dog whistle, no dog.
Well, what’s interesting is that everyone kind of acknowledged that Shrub was a limited-commodity, but we’ve had months of folks trying to make Mittster out as some kind of business leader/whiz kid. I almost led with this tonite… I’ve Got This Friend…
Great day here — just watching USA men’s gymnastics team melt down like Mitt’s magic underwear on steroids.
31 years — what’s the rush, CE?
How clever, CE, that you all didn’t build the deck a couple of years ago!
I didn’t really panic, as much as I dreaded the itching I knew to be coming. I considered panicking later in the day when the swelling went 3/4 of the way to my elbow. So … I’d never heard of them before that Krugman recommendation, and was blown away.
Mitt’s all dog whistle, no dog.

They sure make some pretty music with just a guitar and their voices…
Poison and Wine…
Sounds like your mama was really proud of you!
Money, money, money. Obama is clearly leading now. Can that lead withstand the avalanche of money the GOP has stored up? I’d be pleasantly surprised.
And I’m wondering why my taxes pay to kill innocent people in the Middle East but my taxes can’t help needy people in America. What’s up with that??
Damn good questions, Dearie…! ;-)

*ooh* That reminds me, my Munchkin is walking…! ;-)
Fun!….. but look out…..running is coming on! You need to make sure that you keep in shape for the adventures.
Policy of Truth…
*heh* Still a lot of youth left in my legs, M’dear…! ;-)
Jon Stewart is skewering Mittster regarding his gaffes in London. Well, I, for one, am laughing out loud. Something about….” the book of Moron.” and such like. Mitt the Twit was one of the nicer headlines.
I’m pissed about the same things. We should take care of our own first.
How old is your munchkin now? He looked down right robust as a mere newborn. I expect him to be surfing any day.
*g*….. I know, I know. I’ve played catch with my grandboys a bit…. and they have powerful arms for almost-4 year olds. But they are short, and I am not, so I have to be careful to avoid their low throws! Personal Jesus…
Wait. You expect they will quite exploiting grandma? They have your number.
On edit: that should be quit. Not quite
He hits 11 mos old tomorrow, already
notlooking forward to his First Luau…! ;-)And they are so cute that I cannot resist! I actually look forward to seeing every soccer game they play, for example. There is, in my humble opinion, nothing quite so delightfully amusing as 5 year old soccer…… it’s like a school of fish wafting across the field! So cute!
And I’m going to be enjoying that luau from afar. I do so hope you will share all the details with the munchkin’s fan club.
It’s probably his 5th or 6th Luau you should worry about. That’s when he finds the unattended bottle of beer ;-) for the first time.
I love that you are having such fun with them.
*heh* Not if you’re herding that school of fish…! I once made that fatal decision and coached a season…! ;-)
thanks, tuez. I enjoyed raising my own kids too. Most people I know didn’t seem to enjoy child-rearing as much as I did. And grandmothering is sooooo much easier! I’m loving it. Off to Montana soon to see the other three. It’s just been an abundance of grandkids. Makes me smile.
Beautifully Broken…
Comin’ Home…
Sounds like you all are in the bonus round — grand kids!
Midnight in Harlem…
yeah! that’s what I’m talkin’ about!
Into The Mystic…
Good night, CT, and other LLNiters.

Sweet dreams, Dearie…!
I shall bid ya’ll a fond adieu, and as always, mahalo for the great company tonite…!
Aloha Oe…! *g*
