Allen Toussaint – The Bright Mississippi
If I could, I would ask Allen Toussaint to marry me. He is amazing.
How is everyone tonight?
Hey marymccurinin! Guest hello for me.
Hey Christine. How is it going today? Was it hot in Cleveland?
Hi, mary mac. Good to see you again! Any news from the Divine Miz Suz? Hope she is now resting soundly.
Haven’t spoken with her. I bet she is exhausted.
And not to go all political at this late hour, but, damn that Mittster is a jerk! I didn’t get to read the comments at cocktailhag’s thread below, but I’ll got back perhaps in the a.m. just to see what others think of our embarrassment-in-candidacy.
Aloha, Mary…! Mahalo again for filling in for Suz…! As I’m fixing to head out shortly for my first shift of the nite…!
Some interesting space news… Astronomers Discover A Solar System Similar To Our Own…
Mitt is a dickweed. Pure and simple. and stupid.
Was your shift last night a good one, CT?
Hey CT, thanks for the link.
It wasn’t too bad, Dearie…! Just wish the wind was calmer…! Hoping it’ll be so tonite…! ;-)
The east coast sure is having crappy weather right now. They are, at least, getting some rain. I don’t remember what rain looks/feels like.
Romney has succeeded in uniting Great Britain around one idea … that he is incorrigible !
You’re outside, right? How are the wind speeds out there? We took my 94 year old father out to Casmalia, California to the Hitching Post, and the wind was whipping down the street so hard that we didn’t think we’d get in…. but, luckily, I found a side door that was out of the wind. It was craaaaazzzzy! I can’t imagine what it’s like up on a mountain in the wind.
Isn’t Mitt special!?
So embarrassing! Not bad enough that he’d be hideous as a president. I cannot imagine what he’ll say in Poland…… or in Israel. What a fool. A Totally narcissistic fool. I’m sure he thinks he’s doing just fine.
Not so much, and we had a wonderful rain after 7:00 p.m.
I truly didn’t think I could hate another human more than G.W.B. but along came the Mittster.
My choice, always Cheney, Dick Cheney may you live in hell.
They have the same core – Rove !
Cheney can’t be far behind …
For some reason I don’t think about Cheney much. Must be to hard on my little brain.
My bit from downstairs …
Mitt in Israel: “Okay … Hamas good, Hummus bad ! Got it !”
My work makes me leave now…kisses all.
I’m now of a mind that my own one vote is totally worthless, so I’m kind of easing into the flow. I’ll be having dinner with my father and neo-con twin brother on Saturday, and I’m looking forward to asking them to explain to me why I should vote for Mitty. I no longer care enough about Obama to have the urge to talk back….. I’m just really, really curious to see what Repubs have to say to recommend the idiot Ken Doll.
I think the funny quips have to do with Mitty asking “What’s that funny beanie you’re wearing and where can I get one for my grandkids to play with?”
thanks for hosting again tonight mary. loves me some allen toussaint! i survived and am going back to sleep.
g’nite and thanks again senator
Sure thang, Suz. Any old time.
So, mary mac, I know it’s only one more day, but what’s new with grand baby? Every new day is delightful. And how’s the new mom doing?
Sara is doing great. She is a wonderful mom. She and her BF are doing a stunning job. And the baby is, well, perfect. What can I say?!
And Amy, my oldest, is due on August 28. But I think the baby will come early. It runs in the family.
Major happiness. I loved having my own babies but this is different. I can’t describe it.
So, mary mac, did you ever get over to Los Osos to camp out? Did you check in with demi, our Camping Queen?
My friend and her mother got up to Morro Bay on their first-ever mother/daughter adventure and really enjoyed the area.
I wish. I haven’t been back there in years. Mostly I am going to San Rafael when I have the chance to go anywhere.
My own kids didn’t have involved grandparents….. my then-husband and I moved to the Midwest while the kids were little and left the grandparents in California and Arizona. I feel so, so lucky to be able to see two of my grandkids every week. In fact, I’ll be picking them up at school and making dinner for them tomorrow. I’m off to Montana soon to see my other daughter and her 3. I do love being a grandmother……I had NO idea how fun it would be!
I am trying to figure out how to move closer. The only place we can afford is too dangerous though. dang it.
evening, Mary — firegods
Hey PPDCUS. After we talked about the Marin Century in August, I thought we should try to get together. I am sure I will be in San Rafael around that time.
Hi Mary been looking for my web host Godaddy says not on theirs. WHO.IS says double host picbiz in Arizona and I called domains priced right where I am paid for one year host and five year domain. They were all very very nice. So they have my site pointed to them and will refund if I need to go to the other one. But they do not have the pages you and Ron put up (safe parking lot and pics).Cyber space is pretty spacey. Still thank you for all you have done to help we do have a small pilot program in SLO now. Good luck onthe new project. Looks like a switch to pic without stopping domains price right. Hmm.
Good. I am glad you got it figured out. I wonder what happened.
I think I need to head on out. I have been at the computer since early this morning. See you all soon. Night.
The piano music is nice too! Ron sounds stronger when I called a few days ago. Those walks are helping.
Sounds like that might work, Mary.
We’ll be there for the ride on August 4th — doing the 60+ mile route, with almost 4,000 feet of climbing. There’s a big lunch when we’re done. I’ll check with my cousin on our post-ride plans. We may hang out in Marin or head back to SF.
Thanks for hosting, mary mac. Hope you enjoyed it. LateLate has quieted down quite a bit this summer. We need to figure a way to kick it up… at least for those of us west coasties who are up watching Jon Stewart and Colbert while enjoying a chat.
Please check in, after you have rested up of course, once you’ve done your ride, PPD….. this sounds like quite the trek!
My email is mccurnindesign at gmail dot com.
It’s funny, last nite was virtually clear of any clouds, yet windy as all get out(10-15 mph), tonite it’s like a pea soup all around the mtn, but, calm as can be(1-3 mph)…!
Nice piece by Toussaint, Mary. Thanks. Hope you are well!
The world thought GWB was a moron yet in 2004 the U.S. electorate voted him back into office. Never underestimate the ignorance the the U.S. public, the most misinformed, ill-informed and most easily manipulated electorate in the advanced industrialized world. In the U.S. you can never count out for elected office a moron.
