Louis Armstrong and Danny Kaye — The Saints, a non-traditional comedy duet version from the film The Five Pennies.
What’s on your mind?
g’evening pups — how ya’ll doing tonight?
Ok Suzanne,
It is so frigging hot tonight that you have to dive. I have my two oscillating fans and cups of ice, but do a high dive for us to feel cooler. Hiya Pups!
Hey Suzanne, thanks for sharing that. Been a long time since I last saw that movie (a real tearjerker.)
It’s hotter than a stolen copy of Mitt’s tax returns here in Chicagoland.
colonoscopy reschedule for monday
what it do, everybody!
evening suze, CE
Great clip, Suz. Happy making!
hey ce — so sorry its so hot (((ce))) i can’t do any fancy dives yet but how about this one:
forward dive straight, wee bit of splash upon entry from right leg not being in exactly the proper position
i think that splash might help cool ya off ce
BFL,
Monday is necessary, so do it man. Cheers to you when it is all over. Isn’t this heat a bitch?
here it’s hot and rained in the afternoon; same as yesterday, and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that; forecast for tomorrow is hot with rain in the afternoon – same for the day after and the day after that
hey foxman — how hot is it (said in best straight man voice)…. a buddy sent me the video and i just had to share it….
and the week after that, and august and september
It will if you can swim underwater for at least a few yards. Man, I LOVE swimming underwater with my prescription sunglasses. It is like flying.
hey bfl — how’s the city beautiful — i’m still on for a week from thursday. picked up the ‘prep’ meds today after pt — elevator is right next to the pharmacy…
was supposed to be tomorrow; just wanna get it over wit
Wish we had that rain everyday.
hey dearie — how’s the ‘nard tonight? glad ya liked it
If you’re getting rain every afternoon, you got everyone beat!
Thanks for sharing that film clip, Suzanne. It’s a real treat!
i was supposed to start my prep monday night but forgot; thought it was just today so they had to reschedule— i’m a fucking idiot
sometimes
is that typical in the summer? i was talking to my mom in arizona sunday and she said they are in full monsoon season down there
I know. I haven’t done the deed yet myself. Shame on me.
It’s so hot, even Mitt Romney seems cool. (ba-da-boom)
i’ve not tried that — but then again, i don’t have rx sunglasses… hmmmm
don’t think so; with “frequent and dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning”
woman got hit at Seaworld yesterday– well “shocked”– not a direct hit so she has lived to talk about it
Evening, Suzzzzz — firegods …
hey michele — so glad you liked it — how ya doing tonight?
starting this thursday i have a list of stuff i can’t eat and i know it gets worse from there. nothing but liquids the day of prep — no dairy in my coffee either (another forking list) and the rest of the instructions are forking intense…
rimshot
Oh it is the best. I used to swim on a high school team, and the summers were divine. We were like serpents swimming underwater.
hey ppd — how’s the monterey bay tonight?
My real dream is to visit the Monterey Aquarium.
i remember races to see who can go the furthest without coming up for air…. those were always so much fun
i regret that i didn’t get down there to see it when i was living only an hour or so away…
opera
OMG they were! Hundred underwater…
My dream. We keep looking at the airfare.
yup; i hate it; didn’t know they had monsoons in AZ; thought it was dry all te time
uncle
Hiya Suzzzz — beautiful day, took a ride with a biking friend to Pebble and back this afternoon.
“prep day” is all liquid with some stuff to drink to empty you out-magnesium citrate i think; day before is regular up until 3 and then just a light meal and a laxative after; i ate like a pig last night (in anticipation of today) and didn’t tke the laxative
dream
Don’t worry, BL — they’ll knock you almost completely out for the procedure. Worst part is the prep.
I rather like our daily monsoon. I’m fairly certain it helps with the AC bill. And with all the weeds in the yard, it rather looks like we have grass, which is a far cry from a month ago when it was a dust bowl.
june and july they get that warm moist air coming in from mexico and the gulf iirc
thanks; i’m not worried about it; just that monday will be my 3rd date and i just want to get it over with
how many miles was that?
hey tuez — how’s your foot tonight?
i hate it; and the lightning terrifies me
Evening, Suz and llners! I went swimming on Saturday. Our neighborhood has a pool, and I never went in it before. It was really nice. I should go over and swim a few laps a few times. Really cools ya down.
hey bg — how’s nm tonight? summers should include swimming — or at least lounging around the pool drinking something tropical and fruity
Swimming is wonderful. I work with people who don’t know how to swim and I’m amazed. The most liberating sport ever.
The foot is pretty much back to normal, as long as I don’t stand on my toes, it doesn’t demand all my attention. Thank dog.
Thanks for asking.
balloons
yay!!! such good news
I did competitive swimming as a kid, but I was terrible at it. Embarrassing. But I do know how to do a few strokes, and when I finished college, I used to go to the Y and swim every day. I have not been swimming in a pool in decades, I guess.
I love a good storm. They are invigorating. It’s the Greek gods horses clashing and their hooves connecting (some early teacher had an impact on me).
and this was all the result of a smooch {question mark}
sorry, Suzzz — missed your #45. Home to The Lodge and back is 65 miles with about 1,800 feet of climbing.
oh; catholic school it’s the angels bowling
OMG I did the same as a kid. My mom was determined her kids could swim, whether we cared or not, and signed us up for competitions. I could swim, no problem, but speed, no way. I’d still be at the starting line when others had finished. My athletic talents were elsewhere too.
i love a good storm too — so wild and primal and awe inspiring — as long as i’m hunkered down inside all cozy and have power and tubes, i’m good
Yes, a kiss good bye. He feels so bad he no longer wears his boots in the house.
wow. you really are back into the swing of things biking :) so good to hear
Morris County NJ public education. I think I prefer it; more imagination.
I did high dive at 4-H camp, and loved it. Later, at our swim club (and my dears, this was almost poor peoples swim club) I swam on the team for years. Breast stroke winner!
oh, if i’m inside they’re fine; i’m talkimg about standing outside waiting for a bus, seeing a lightning bolt hit– scares the pee outta me
hudson county parochial, here
i hung out at the public swimming pools. had to use my allowance and it was either go swimming or go to the movies but not both.
i hated storms when i was working patrol. h-a-t-e-d the forkers with a white hot passion
When I was a kid, anytime there was a big storm, I went into the garage and opened the door. Now, I go out on one of the porches. However, admittedly, I can still quickly move inside, but rarely do.
I loved the pool. We spent the whole day and after dinner there. Sigh…
That’s cause you had to get wet.
an’ the clouds down here aren’t gray or dark gray, they’re black; sometimes it gets like nightime at 4-5 in the afternoon
OK — marching orders to bed. Bye Pups!
I think I went off the high dive one time, then I got the fright and could never go out there again. I think I could barely do a low diving board now.
But the pool was quite nice. I could just go over there and do some laps, build myself up to do more. LM used to swim 4x a week at 87 til she got abrasions that did not heal, and then she never was able to go again. I am sure it was good for her circulation and kept the congestive heart failure and dementia at bay. It was downhill when she quit swimming, that is for sure.
Getting ready for the Marin Century in early August, Suzzzz
nighters, CE, sleep well.
those forking yellow banana suits do NOT keep ya dry
Since I like you, I won’t comment :-)
g’nite ce
coming up fast…
What’s the Marin Century?, if I may ask?
50th anniversary Marin Century — should be good.
Hi Pups just a drive by to say hey… Been real busy cooking for Anthony’s movie shoot… Been Making a Vegetarian pasta sauce for day two of the shoot… Will also have grilled Italian sausage for the Meat eaters… Thursday will be Jambalaya both with meat and a vegetarian version (ugh)… Then again Monday Chili… sheesh sure is a lot of work feeding the Crew~!!!
one of them hundred mile bike thingies…. in marin county (north of the golden gate bridge)
hey nahant — ya don’t fool me — you are forking loving all that cooking! how long is the shoot gonna take?
I googled. Cool.
Since I’m getting catty, I’m going to bed.
Happy tomorrows to all!!!

Here’s a link, dearie
http://www.marincyclists.com/Default.aspx?pageId=1254376
It’s a great time.
g’nite tuez
So much going on here tonight…..I’m breathless. Who’s Anthony? How did you land the cook gig? And, mostly, are you having fun and being appropriately appreciated?!
last day shooting or last day shooting in the area?
This is just a thrilling thread. I just found — google is my friend — that one of my Danish great-grandfathers was naturalized in Marin County while working as a dairyman in Tomales. And, then, I spent lots of time at my grandma’s house in the Sunset District. Keep on talking, all, I’m loving the recollections.
We’re doing the metric century — 60+ miles with 3,900 feet of climbing. Marin’s scenery is terrific, and the food should be excellent, too.
how forking kewl dearie!!! my dad and his wife was living in the sunset – out on 27th and noreiga back when i was a young bride and living in the richmond at 8th and balboa…
hiya nahant — hope you and the family are well.
3,900 feet of climbing is awesome…..and reminds me of the switchbacks to my aunt and uncle’s house in Corte Madera. And, yes, beautiful!
Last day shooting is supposed to be on Monday… It is only a 20 Min film..They should/will be done on Monday hopefully… but hey It will be what it will be…. they have a lot of good people working with them.. Anthony and Dave have worked out all the details including feeding the all volunteer crew/actors..
Just great and you and yours??
you gonna be feeding them while they are editing and scoring etc in post production? after all, anthony is family….
congrats on snaggin’ the happy lucky 99 nahant!!!
Still on senior living patrol duty, as usual, nahant
Thats the way of life isn’t it… We know J’s dad turns 95 this year but he is still going strong playing tennis several times a week… I can only wish for the same…
Deep roots in The City. There’s a house still on Naples, out in the Excelsior, where my dad was born and where his granddad (that dairyman) had a dairy. His grandma grew up in an orphanage in the Haight…. parents died and left 5 kids, 4 of whom got ‘outplaced’….all died of consumption. She went on to work at the orphanage and then marry the young dairyman. Both lived well into their late 80s.
tis about time for me to slide horizontal pups. the pt lady worked me hard today — i got to 130 degrees of bend but it cost me. thanks for letting me spend part of your evening with ya.
g’nite all
Well, mine isn’t playing tennis. It’s a challenge to get Mom to use her walker safely. We had an accident and visit to the ER last weekend. In and out in record time — only three hours — released to go home with no serious injuries.
night Suzzz – be well
Good-night, Suzanne……….happy, interesting and colorful dreams!
Niters Suz… I also need to get horizontal… Must get tomorrows food ready for the crew in the AM… Sleep well good Pups… Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
GN, Suz, sweet dreams, thanks for being the hostess with the mostest.
I worked for a catering company one year, and among our jobs were a couple of movies. It is a lot of freaking work, early til late then start over again.
I lived to Cater and work the good kitchens! I adore food presentation and all the crazy shit it takes to pull it off!
One of my sorrows was realizing I’d grown too old to be in the game.
I can still kick ass on Food Sculpture presentation. ??
