The Gentrys — Keep On Dancing.
What’s on your mind?
hey wmd — how ya doing? are you back from your motorcycle trip?
Aloha, Suz and lln pups…! I hope your leg is doing better after your marathon session, yesterday…!
An old school zed even, well played, wmd…! ;-)
master cylinder failed, so no brakes == no trip.
aloha tut — how’s paradise tonight? the knee is still a wee bit cranky but the ankle isn’t as bad.
aloha man! great clip, suze! had a day off from work and a mid-week visit witht the kids; threatening weather all day but i managed to avoid what rain did come and most of the nastiness passed by TCB
It was a gorgeous day, nice to see all the mud puddles drying up for a change…! ;-)
hey bfl — glad ya liked it. how’s the city beautiful tonight?
fuck that sucks dood :(
No chance to get a new one in time, wmd…?
Hey all, I’m catching up on sleep (12 hours straight last night, must have needed it) but I wanted to pop in and say hi to you all. Love that song!
Quick jukebox food.
Nope. So it goes.
hey margot — glad ya liked it. sleep well and g’nite
c’est si bon
It is a BMW bike right, does the master cylinder have to be shipped from Germany…?
hey margot! hope you are well; i could use some sleep–just not tired; gonna try to just hit the hay and see what happens
i’m hoping it cools off tonight – i don’t sleep as well when its in the 60′s. always looking for that ‘cool spot’ on the pillow
Yeah but the rain cooled things off. The AC has been running so much lately, I’m afraid for my bank account.
hey tuez — how’s your foot doing?
No parts are available in US, just timing on trip didn’t work.
My foot is aggravating the shit out of me. It’s got a level of pain that is just below really painful but after almost 2 weeks, it’s grating on my last nerve. I have also come to discover that I am not just ADD but ADHD. If my foot has taught me anything, it’s that I can’t sit still for more than a fraction of a second.
Thanks for asking.
ouch — i sympathize. is icing and elevating it helping any?
I can’t sit still long enough to ice it but I sleep with it elevated. Interestingly, the skin over my foot, at least where it’s swollen, has had a burning sensation that is worse than the pain from the break. I’ve found Orajel helps greatly with that.
Suz, do you have a reunion date in mind for Token?
try icing it when ya go to bed — i used to do that with my left knee. swelling sucks — what a great idea for the burning. the swelling puts so much pressure on all those nerves — hope it starts to reduce soon for ya tuez
I realized my punctuation was off. Parts are available in US. Just couldn’t do repairs before return flight, and I didn’t want to risk trip without 300 miles of riding behind me.
That totally bites, wmd…! 8-(
I’m ready to sleep. Good night all.
i was thinking next week but remembered i’m having a medical procedure on the 26th and will be staying overnight at jen’s after since i won’t be able to drive. so i’m debating getting him next week and then taking him for an overnight with marie or just letting him stay with marie until afterwards
That’s pretty slick thinking, tuez…! Orajel is a topical analgesic, after all…! ;-)
Are you going to post the pictures?
From the procedure ;)
Desperation rattles the cobwebs.
Oh noes, Suz…! I presume ya need to to ‘prep’ for it too…! *ugh*
nope. tis not something i’m looking forward to for sure… i explained to the nice lady who called to schedule it that i wanted to put it off until i was off crutches …
Yer evil…! ;-)
i was doing ALOT of walking today and am petrified of lightning– so it worked out –i barely got drizzled on
check your calendar for the 25th and 26th — i doubt i’ll be able to host the night of the prep and i for sure know better than to try to host after anesthesia…
you’re shitting me!!!! me too!!!!! one week from today!!! and no, tuez; no pics-from me anyway—- i can’t speak for suze
I would’ve definitely pointed out the lack of mobility…! ;-)
before me, eh? you can help me separate the hype from the facts about just how bad that prep and procedure are….
mine was originally tomorrow and i would have been “prepping” (read: shitting my brains out) now
she agreed that it was a legitimate reason to delay — said mobility was gonna be required for the prep aspects
Can you talk to newt…? Honestly, the only two nites I’m scheduled this month, up top is in fact the 25th and 26th, I shit you not(pardon the pun…)!
that’s so my luck tut *laughing* i’ll check with hin
suze, i wish people would jest shaddup sometimes; couple weeks ago i was afraid i was getting or had a kidney stone- EVERYBODY: “you’re gonna wish you were dead”; i’m getting a colonoscopy- EVERYBODY: “oh man, the prep is terrible, you’re gonna be completely cleaned out and starving and they make you stick a suppository so far up your ass you think it’s coming out your mounth; i’m afraid of lightning-EVERYBODY: “OH; my __(Insert relative here)___ got struck by lightning—- people! shut the fuck up!!!!
i hear ya dood — appreciate you letting me know the skinny is vs the hype.
my big thing is a family member only must pick you up (here anyway) and i’m not used to that shit and need to dig up somebody– i was gonna take a cab; nobody can come to where that hosp is and get me in the middle of the morning
g’night peeps — been here too long— i’ll be in touch suze—
jen’s gonna take me and pick me up afterwards. i’m scheduled for 2ish in the afternoon so will get up and drive to her house and then drive home the next day. much easier for her than having to drive here, pick me up, take me clear to clackamas, go home to beaverton, then turn around and drive to clackamas and take me back to st helens. i don’t want her spending all afternoon driving
g’nite and it’s not that bad. At least it didn’t seem to be when my husband had one a year ago.
That sux, BFL, family needs to take care of family…! Pleasant dreams, Mi amigo…!
Oh no, you guys don’t understand, showing off the pics is the in thing.
Maybe it’s age related. My husband was disappointed when his films were “clean”. My bro-in-law proudly whips out his for anyone interested.
oh lardy – i had no idea pics were the new kidney stone…
Three little letters… TMI ;-)
you will be coming up on 50 soon enough tut — that’s when they like to do the ‘baseline’ scope iirc
No, unlike tits and dicks, no one has any idea what “that” should look like.
I’m certainly in no hurry…! ;-)
i guess its different for everyone — my mom thinks mammograms are horribly painful and i found it uncomfortable but would not say it was painful. of course, i was trying to stand without bearing weight on my right leg at the time so i was pretty distracted but…
A good friend of mine is authorized to perform colon cleansings, you should hear some of the stuff he’s seen come out…! ;-)
Laughing about BFL’s talk about wanting to go home from ‘the procedure’ in a cab. I called ahead and they said I could go home in a cab. I was so glad and said so because I don’t have anyone local who could pick me up. They said, “Oh, no. You can go home in a cab, but someone you know has to go with you.” Well, so there. Fortunately my daughter was able to come get me from her place, but really…..what do people without family or close friends do?
hey dearie — how ya doing tonight?
Hi, Suz. I know what I did when I had a tubal just prior to a divorce and in a new town where I knew exactly no one. I wrote up a note releasing the facility from liability and promised to call them when I got home…… and then I waited for a break and snuck out and drove myself home. You do what you gotta do.
I think I’ll pass.
On that note, I’m off to la la land
when i fractured my left ankle in ’90, i drove myself to the hospital. the cast tech helped me sneak outta the hospital since i told him i had to drive myself there because my husband was home with the baby (stephanie) who had an ear infection (he had been in er with her the night before until midnight) and they were bound to be sleeping. rules were that since it was a leg injury, i had to be discharged to ‘someone’. i pointed out it was my left leg and i could drive – proved by my getting myself there — and that they had NOT given me any drugs
he bought my argument and helped me avoid the nurses station
g’nite tuez — hope the foot is better tomorrow
tis about time for me to get horizontall myself. thanks for letting me spend part of your evening with ya tonight
Sweet dreams, tuez…!
Sweet dreams, Suz…!
Oh, nice that you got help. I got yelled at by my doctor who got yelled at by the doctor who did the tubal. I don’t know what people do who aren’t brave enough to break some rules. I actually thought about developing a service to take people home from ‘procedures’…… not all of us have a network of availables who don’t work and are willing to drive us home. I’d actually asked if the facility employed any ‘ride-alongs’…..but of course they didn’t.
EPUd ….. not fun.
Wouldn’t it be nice if hospitals would provide a ‘courtesy’ shuttle like Car Dealers do, Dearie…? ;-)
Let’s dance… Still…! ;-)
Aah… C’est La Vie…
