My part of California is delightful right now. I am so sorry for the Midwest and others who are burned and toasted and seared. I’m still waiting for some preacher from Colorado Springs to make a pronouncement upon God in regard to their ‘troubles’. Those folks who so hate the guvment….well, they sure do scream for their fire dousing planes awful quick, now don’t they?.

I come from a line of Danes…..but I do suspect that there were some influences from the Steppes……my uncle looked very Asiatic, and in my youth and mid-age I was often asked if I were Native American. Blue eyes….but cheekbones. One of these days I’ll have a DNA test just for the fun of it.

What’s also funny, to me….. the talk about people of color. My brother once put up a billboard of the employees of his law firm. The first time I drove down the boulevard and saw the billboard I laughed out loud. A couple of pasty white guy lawyers and a passel of first/second generation Mexican women … and me. And I was the darkest one on the billboard! My bit of German, I guess.

Lot’s of questions about as to where the king salmon went this year. We will have no personal harvest of Tanner crab in these parts this year also. Silvers should show soon? Up side is people who would not normally think at all are questioning why. And those who do think are making more beer.

Cleaning my Gun…

I hate to sound so dreadful about our winter to come but with the way things are we stand to lose lot of young folks for other ways to make money. It effects the whole community.

I agree completely, what are all our youth facing, locally, nationally, or even globally, right now…? It damn sure ain’t a pretty sight anywhere, these daze…! 8-(

Most of our youth are not paying attention, i say this as local but will extrapolate from there. Their expectations will be dashed in short order. The reactions to come from them will be curt. I don’t think they have grasped the gravity of the down fall as yet.
