Just another crummy day in paradise, CT — had a great ride yesterday — perfect weather

I’m going to take the bus to work – 10:20 AM… need to finish packing in morning, I’ve got pretty much all of it together – taking two jackets – mesh armor for summer heat, and rain proof heavy just in case. A few tools (timing light, some sockets and allen wrenches). Parts are on the way already, probably buy tires (or at least tubes) locally.

Four years ago another storm did the same shit and flooded out this part of the state. It was a mess. During that storm Melborne got 24 inches in, I want to say 24 hours, but it might have been 48. At any rate, a ton of rain. Wish I could send some to wendy davis.

Every once in awhile the trades will shift and blow the Vog towards Hilo town, but, typically it all blows over onto the Kona side, which does experience a lot of respiratory issues…!

this is what gets me. i just don’t understand. i’ve mentioned this before. i know a woman back home in NJ. Basically unemployed, she’s a live-in whatever for somebody. Had to take that because she can’t afford rent. Loves Chris Christie. See, what NJ was doing wrong was punishing bizness and she’s glad he gave them tax cuts (Dem controlled legislature went along, too) because that’ll bring jobs back and his across the board income tax is great. it’s across the board so it’s fair to everybody. and we have to stop being jealous of successful people and trying to punish them. this woman is not dumb…. well, she’s not ill-educated…… and she actually says this shit. This country is and always has been about accumulating stuff without getting caught breaking the law. No history or culture of helping each other out except in disasters and not enough people want to change that.

Regardless of the title of the post, it is worth a read and thoughtful consideration.
