hey loohoo — how’s palm springs tonight? i’m still on drugs but am doing better. still get tired real easy — i did some needed errands today and took a 3 hour nap when i got home. was plum tuckered out. but each day i’m stronger and able to do a wee bit more.
i’m sorta moved in and have met a few neighbors — nice people and my new lawn guy is one of my neighbor’s grandsons. i have fewer boxes in the living room and have been doing a load of laundry or two a day this week — slowly getting things organized so that i can get the pod delivered and really move all my stuff it. gonna be interesting going through the stuff that was packed almost 4 years aago
still have strong pain pills but am not taking them as often :) glad my pain levels are down and will be doing a snoopy happy dance when the pain is finally gone
We have more than made up for our rain “deficit” the past 3 weeks and there is that tropical depression forming in the Gulf. We don’t need it. Anybody want it?
i took the car in and got it all lubed up — it had sat for 4 months and figured it was in need of some tlc — guy said it was actually in really good shape — was a little low on oil and i’ve got some belts that will be need replacing (and got a referral for a mechanic)
i’m dreading going through it — stuff from a 1080 sq ft house that needs to go into a 550 sq ft house and a 130 sq ft outbuilding… i know that i’m gonna be pissed that i packed so much ‘junk’ that i shudda just gotten rid of
Okay Scarlet, I need ideas. Since I’m in Florida, on the flight path for Orlando International, and every politician under the sun is making weekly visits, I need a slogan to write on my roof.
if i had found a 2 bedroom, i wudda used that extra bedroom as my junk room for unpacking. i’m hoping to get a lotta junk in the outbuilding but fear once its in there, it will be outta sight outta mind.
That’s the whole point of a junk room, out a sight, out a mind. Until that one day 10 years from now when you say, “hey, I need that”. Or you move and say, “what the fuck did I keep that for?”
Doin’ A-ok. It hit 99 or 100 today with winds from the SW, and more of the same tomorrow. As for the rain, we’ll gladly take all you care to give us. It’s fire season.
nice work, man, you are unstoppable! Several years ago when Cheney was in town for a visit, I put up a couple signs, one on an overpass and one on the side of a freeway. The one on the overpass stayed just over a day, the other one stayed a couple weeks. Don’t have a pic, but it said “Impeach Bush, Take Cheney Hunting. Problem Solved”
Aww, shucks. I’ve gotten so used to it I barely even think about it – but once I’ve got the car filled, then each signposting becomes like a little ninja mission: get the sign up and photos taken with the least amount of time and effort, hop back in the car and speed away laughing…
*aargh* That totally bites, sorry folks…! It was a pic of me holding up a 2ft.X 2.5ft. wooden panel painted black with 40 led lights of the letter U…! ;-)
tuez, I saw somewhere on line today an artist who has been making signs on roofs and vacant lots and taking photos of them. I’ll look around and see if I find it.
Good idea to use the roof for a message. Forkers. I am sick of them all.
The sheer amounts of Permafrost we’re losing annually is releasing trillions of cubic feet of methane gas into our atmosphere, Bill McKibben is right when he said the XL pipeline would be ‘Game Over’ for our climate if it’s built…! 8-(
tuez, in case you check back, I found a link but it seems I am not permitted to post it (not by FDL but the artist, I guess). If you google her, you can find it. Emma Wilcox, she has a show in Philadelphia at The Print Center.
Good morning, pups. Today we have Blow, Nocera and Collins. Mr. Blow has a question in “Bullies on the Bus:” Do those adolescent boys represent something in our society at large? The answer may be quite uncomfortable. Mr. Nocera looks at “Burger King, the Cash Cow,” and says the fast-food restaurant chain made big news this week in going public. Here is why private equity firms keep feasting on burgers and fries. Ms. Collins takes a look at “The (Sort of) New Mitt” and has a question: Is General Election Mitt Romney making some changes from the Primary Mitt Romney? Just look at the Mittspeak, people, and decide for yourself.
The coffee and tea are ready, and I’ve got corned beef hash with poached eggs this morning. I’m going to go and take a bit of a nap before I get out in the garden to water the things that need watering and prune the rosemary before it stages a takeover. Have a great day.
Suz: I am usually tucked in before you arrive. But good to see you up and around….It’s been along stretch, but thankfully you continue to mend.
Nice work you do here and sorry I do not see you more often. Hope you are settling in & mending well…My best…B
hey revbev — so good to see your fonts :) thank you so very much for your kind words — i’m settling and mending, albeit slower than i would like, but i’m not going to complain too loudly.
am off the morphine and other heavy pain meds and am starting to feel like my brain is returning from lala land :) one of these days (or nights) we *will* be on the same thread at the same time!
g’evening pups – how ya doing tonight?
Hey, Suze! How are your medicals these days? All the best of wishes.
Suz, you are always stunning!!!
hey loohoo — how’s palm springs tonight? i’m still on drugs but am doing better. still get tired real easy — i did some needed errands today and took a 3 hour nap when i got home. was plum tuckered out. but each day i’m stronger and able to do a wee bit more.
hey tuez — stunning? *laughing* moi?
how was your day?
Yes, you are stunning.
Things are good here, but too much rain and more on the way. I built an ark a couple weeks ago and have put it to good use.
Have you gotten all moved in and met the neighbors?
Well, good. As long as you are no longer in pain…
i’m sorta moved in and have met a few neighbors — nice people and my new lawn guy is one of my neighbor’s grandsons. i have fewer boxes in the living room and have been doing a load of laundry or two a day this week — slowly getting things organized so that i can get the pod delivered and really move all my stuff it. gonna be interesting going through the stuff that was packed almost 4 years aago
Good evening, Suz. Great muppet clip!
still have strong pain pills but am not taking them as often :) glad my pain levels are down and will be doing a snoopy happy dance when the pain is finally gone
hey past — glad ya liked it. how ya doing tonight?
Hey tuezday, how are you, besides wet? It’s been bone dry here for well over a month.
I’d hold off on the Snoopy Happy Dance for a bit… you know, ’til everything’s a bit more healed…
hey scarlet — how ya been? *laughing* i do come from a long line of klutzes yanno
Going through the stuff you packed almost 4 years ago is going to seem like Christmas.
I’ve got stuff at my mom’s from 6 years ago I need to get back.
Since the truck finally got some new tires the other day…
I’m doing great. How ’bout you?
We have more than made up for our rain “deficit” the past 3 weeks and there is that tropical depression forming in the Gulf. We don’t need it. Anybody want it?

I’ve been up to my same old tricks, only larger:

Okay Scarlet, I need ideas. Since I’m in Florida, on the flight path for Orlando International, and every politician under the sun is making weekly visits, I need a slogan to write on my roof.
wonderful work dood!
The problem is, you no longer have a junk room. We all need a junk room.
if i had found a 2 bedroom, i wudda used that extra bedroom as my junk room for unpacking. i’m hoping to get a lotta junk in the outbuilding but fear once its in there, it will be outta sight outta mind.

until i get that phone call saying my mom is coming up for a visit and the mad scramble is on to get the junk room presentable *laughing*
Doin’ A-ok. It hit 99 or 100 today with winds from the SW, and more of the same tomorrow. As for the rain, we’ll gladly take all you care to give us. It’s fire season.
Hmm… will ponder it for a bit… depending on your roof color, you could use sheets/towels for lettering.
that way you could change the message from time to time…
that’s a great idea scarlet — i had not thought about changeability

I was thinking chalk. It’s the rainy season anyway, so will have to get redone regularly.
That’s a good one.
that was forking awesome dood
Aloha, Suz and lln pups…! When the Pod does arrive, Suz, that’ll be the perfect time to discard what you’d once deemed so essential…! ;-)
I was inspired to do that after seeing some of freewayblogger’s stuff on the intertubes, and his tips on how to hang them and such.
aloha tut — how’s paradise tonight? my fear is that i’m gonna need to rent a dumpster to dispose of it all….
Owe it all to freewayblogger for the inspiration. You are totally the freeway sign king, man!
This is what I was busy doing last nite…!
We’re making enough letters to spell out Occupy Hilo…! ;-)
Aww, shucks. I’ve gotten so used to it I barely even think about it – but once I’ve got the car filled, then each signposting becomes like a little ninja mission: get the sign up and photos taken with the least amount of time and effort, hop back in the car and speed away laughing…

sorry folks, i’m nodding off again. hope to see ya tomorrow night for sat nite cartoons — same bat time, same bat channel
g’nite all – thanks for letting me hang with ya
Sweet dreams, Suz…! *g*
G’nite Suz, sweet dreams!
Sweet dreams, Suz. I fell asleep and just woke up, too late for the partay.

Ciao for now…
Aloha, Scarlet, keep up the awesome work…!
