The Hives — Go Right Ahead.
What’s on your mind?
Aloha, Suz and lln pups, a mighty kewl clip indeed, Suz…!
My intertubes are constipated tonight, the little circle on the vid just keeps on spinning, round and round.
That bites, tuez…! 8-(
aloha tut — how’s paradise? glad ya like it
hey tuez — adobe flash did a big update last week — have you updated your flash player?
Is this the flip-side of their good song?
Yes, actually, Flash updated today. I probably just need to clean my cache.
*heh* I’m still eternally grateful for the Secunia PCI linky that you’d provided me long ago…! ;-)
hey pokums — how ya doing tonight? tis their latest single – was released in april
let me know if it doesn’t clear… if ya still wanna hear the song, if ya click on their name in the post and then on their splash page, it will take ya to their main page where audio of the song automatically plays… when i was there it was this song
i got that link back when krebs was doing the wapoo cyber security blog — he now how has own site after he lost his wapoo gig — i check it regularly
Thanks for that link. Avira pissed me off too much and AVG has decided the software I use for work is a trojan. Hence, I’m not happy with AVG either. I even suspect AVG is not allowing me to do system restores.
How was your reunion with better half CT?
It doesn’t replace an Anti-Virus program, it only complements them…!
Hi Suz and llners. We had a great visit tonight with the Occupy Caravan going from LA to Philadelphia…had a pots and pans walk through Old Town, the tourists Loved. It. So much fun.
She was a mighty happy camper, bb…! ;-)
Mahalo for asking…! *g*
hey bg — sounds like fun! how’s new mexico tonight?
Cool you are welcome such roll modeling to your children!
Thanks for informing me of that. My skimming for comprehension skills must be out to lunch.
Bon Nuit pups! up at 3:30 to advocate at CA Coastal Commission in Huntington Beach where they had riots a few years ago.
Stopped raining long enough today so the lawns could dry up enough for me to mow ‘em. The garden, is a real mixed bag, with some transplanted green bean plants dying, and the spinach looking like it will grow five feet tall.
Going fishing on the Copper River Monday or Tuesday. Bringing my Geiger counter.
NM is kind of hot, I have too much stuff going on, too many things to do. I am hoping I will have my car back tomorrow, it has been a month that I have been trying to get the key for it replaced. I have to go to Los Alamos, have the car towed to Santa Fe to the dealer where they supposedly will program the car and key to work together. All this because some little shit stole my keys and phone.
what i like about it is that it tells ya what updates ya need — and you can set it to automatically install the update for ya. it will also check for older versions of software that you should delete – some programs don’t delete the old version when ya install the newest
Best of luck, and, pleasant dreams, bb…!
hey et — it did not rain here today – clouds most of the day but they poofed toward sunset. been seeing signs at stores that cooper river salmon is here
how goes the geiger countering?
Aloha, ET…! Have you been registering any abnormal readings of late…?
To answer you and Suzanne – no. I’m going in to pick up my Golf TDI after some work tomorrow, and the shop is going to let me run tests on discarded air filters.
Totally freaking tiresome. The last time I went up there, I had the key but no way to get the car towed. The town is a wasteland, can’t get anything done there. I called ahead this time, and still no way to have it towed, so I am having someone from the valley come up there to get it. The first time they charged $147 to tow the car less than a mile, from the store where the keys were stolen to LM’s house, because no one in town could tow on a weekend. The same company is coming tomorrow, giving me a “bargain price” of $175 to tow it about 35 miles. Then I think it is about $200 to get the key software synced with the car. You would think it is a new freaking car. No it is a 1999. The key cost $70. So we are talking almost $600 for the key. And a month without my car.
Lots of testy nerves up here in northern Front Range in Colorado… lots of folks losing homes, many others agonizing waiting to hear whether they still have theirs, a smokey pall pretty much every day. Firefighters are doing an amazing job doing what they can, have saved hundreds of homes. Many many good folks taking in evacuees.
sweet — looking forward to hearing about your findings…
jeebus bg thats forking horrible…. omg
Such a tragedy. We have had two years of fires in NM, and again, hundreds of homes lost, not to mention the trees, animals and devastation of the watersheds and all that.
what a pain in the ass.
Well, I’m headed out to our General Assembly tonite, we’re going to have a potluck grill-fest, I’m providing some sirloin strips…! Aloha ya’ll…! *g*
my youngest lives in greeley but is in mo working at a summer camp this summer. i’m glad she’s not there – the smoke must be horrible. my local news station just did a report on it and said that they may well still be fighting that fire this fall…
aloha tut — have fun at the ga
I just got my phone replaced the other day. I was thinking of taking an ad in the local paper to shame this kid. But I have spent so much on this problem already, I really don’t know if it is worth it. Kid probably threw the keys away on his way home. Fucker.
you wudda been better off if he had stolen your car — at least your insurance co wudda been involved and you would not be without wheels
Have a great time, CT.
If only. I have so much freaking money in this car at this point the insurance would not have been worth the loss of it. I have to keep it going another 10 years to get the investment out of it. I would have been better off making $500/mo payments on a new damn car. Otherwise, I would have left the damn thing there for him to steal. Worst car ever.
fuck — that blows
On a happy note, I am finishing up (well, I have about 2 more weeks, so “finishing up” is a relative term) an art piece for an installation that will be up for a couple of months. I am hoping it will be great. I have been pulling out all kinds of materials I have been stockpiling for such a thing as this, and I hope to be able to make some more work once this is done. Enjoying the details of making it, almost all recycled wood, metal and other stuff.
sweet! so good to hear you have working on your art!!! are ya gonna have pictures?
Wow. Where will that be seen?
i went to the grocery store today — did better managing the cart with my crutches inside it and using the cart for weight bearing. had an easier time getting the 4 bags into the house today. still took a lot longer – but then everything takes longer to do
hey jc — how ya doing tonight?
There’s a whole lotta beetle-kill forest very ripe for the burn, and a horrendously dry winter/spring that almost ensures it’ll happen. Global warming, much?
I had to have a photo for them a couple of weeks ago, so I finished it up enough to load it up and take it down by the river around sunset. It was a decent fake. . .I mean the piece will look enough like the photo that I won’t be humiliated at the changes from then to now. But it will be missing the scenic view in the photo. If I knew how to upload it somewhere, I could do that, I could send it in an e-mail I guess. . .
SUZ! Awesome grocery shopping. What an accomplishment. How are you feeling tonight??
gonna be a bad summer for wildfires… a really bad one i fear
my foot is numb and swollen (but then when is it not) but my knee isn’t as painful as it was earlier. i got a lawn guy today — a neighbor’s grandson – great rate and he’ll be here every two weeks to do the yard. he did grandma’s house and then came over and did mine. another neighbor took my garbage cans out to the curb tonight (pickup tomorrow) and said he would put them back after. said he will just do that every week until i’m ‘ungimped’. this is a great quiet little neighborhood
most pictures sites are pretty simple — i use google’s picasa – so simple even i can do it
How nice to have found good neighbors. Very promising!
Jobless, but OK. Sorry about your pedal woes.
OT, but since it’s what’s-on-your-mind night, I checked on the petiion to ask Obama to create a do-not-kill list, and only 4,986 signatures out of 20,014 required have been submitted and it’s halfway through the ‘qualifying’ period, which ends on June 29. Since this petition got a lot of publicity a couple of weeks back, it seems to me people must think the petition is 1) silly, or 2) subjects them to being put on the real list.
wow, i wudda thought it would have more too. perhaps it needs another post about it — am trying to remember who wrote the one i saw here at the lake… the down side to being heavily medicated with this blasted broken leg is my memory is shot to shit
and every night is what’s on your mind night at late late night — folks can talk about anything and everything — that’s the whole point :)
It was Teddy, I think.
I doubt people think it’s silly…..but I do think people (well, me, but I doubt I’m the only one) are reluctant to, shall we say, bring on the drones. I do my part by writing notes all over Democrat literature sent to me and sending it back in their prepaid envelopes just to get them to take me off their lists. It is, I am sorry to say, a rather crappy time for people who had high expectations. As one of our dear commenters would say, “Le sigh.”
i think you are right — perhaps someone should do a diary about it to remind folks that they still need more signatures… diaries are really easy to write and who knows, it could end up on the front page like teddy’s did
Let’s see if you can see this.
People know (most people) what a watershed is. This is a Water Shed. The numbers (they will not be red in the finished product) are the number of the Rio Grande Watershed.
hey dearie — how’s the beach tonight?
check the privacy settings.. got a picasa page but no photo
Things are well on the south central coast, Suz. We are well into June Gloom, and I’m not minding the fog at all. Also had some work this morning, and that is always good.
I am a dork. Try it again, I changed it.
I tried to weigh in my mind the risk of signing the petition, which seemed to like such great theater, with the risk of not trying to blow the lid off of the murder campaign. My decision was to sign it, but I expected at least 15,000 more people to do so by now.
we’ve been doing our own june gloom up here but its getting steadily warmer. as long as it doesn’t get too warm :) work is always good.
I think I signed it already, will it let me sign again? I figure they have me in their sights, so I don’t care if they add me again. I fully expect them to try to lure me into some kind of criminal enterprise.
yay!!! that worked!!! see, i told ya it is easy (i’ve been tripped up on that privacy thing before – is why i mentioned it)
This I like.
I remember, I tried to sign and I spent a couple of hours trying to get on to the site, without success. That may be why people have not signed it, because they can’t. I had to give up.
ok peeps — i’m writing write instead of right and making a boatload of typo’s… my meds have kicked in and its time for me to stop typing. thanks for letting me hang out with ya tonight — hope to see ya tomorrow for friday muppets.
I used to, early on, e-mail Obama with ideas, prods, shames and such….with no response. I caught on that he wasn’t much into us serfs. Then I figured that I didn’t want to be on any list he was compiling. Now I can’t even listen to one of his ‘homey’ speeches…..
I’m reserving my energy for when we take it to the streets again. I’m afraid that that is the only way we will see any change. And probably it’s even too late for that.
I’ll look into the diary idea. Haven’t tried that before. It sounds more satisfying than a rant to the local paper.
Pleasant, musical and colorful dreams to you……….
Thanks, it was only half done, really, you can see through it on the right side. Now it is enclosed and I am building out the inside. It will have (I hope) nature sounds broadcast from inside, plus it will have water that pumps around inside, and there is some light in there. Debating putting a fan inside, but I would want that to come on and off randomly, and I am not really sure how I would do that. It has become more complex as I have been working on it, of course.
I can understand that. Using MS Internet Explorer, and Norton 360 (with Identity Safe feature), passwords are saved for any sites I log on to if I wish. I feel so dirty shilling for Symantec, Inc.
Suz, have a good night of rest, keep that foot up, and see you tomorrow, or maybe not, we don’t have internets at LM’s any more, so tomorrow I may be up there and no access. Thanks for a good tune and cheery night here.
I have a Mac, so I figure I just can’t get on there/I tried to recover or change the password. and that did not work. I e-mailed them a cranky complaint, and guess what? Never heard from them. Yeah, maybe put that petition on Change.org and see if we can get the signatures there. As if he would listen to a million people saying the same thing.
I’m so scared of the results you could find………
I had this wild hair idea that we all needed to eat more natural iodine so I bought some sea weed snacks at Costco [many packs of sea weed snacks] made in Japan. ? What was I thinking?
I know my garden soil will suck up every thing that falls with the rain.
I am a water resources nut and my spouse does assemblage. She put some auto coil springs in the yard and…well the urge to pun is all-consuming. I’m sure she will dig the shed.
I’m out of here, too. Thanks for the chat.
Our neighbors greenhouse has a fan that goes on and off, but on a timer.
We don’t need to wait to take it to the streets. We’re already in the street. We can take it to our Community buildings and our churches and begin a new dialog about important things.
Maybe I can do something like that. Thanks for the idea. I wish I knew how to make it motion activated.
There are photos up on (un)OccupyABQ’s Facebook page of our pots and pans march tonight. It was a blast.
Here is the link.
That is so cool! I love the energy of We The People. We rock!
And hope you don’t attract rodents………………..just saying. :]
After my own heart. I stopped sculpting years ago because I couldn’t make it work in my life as a homeschool mom who grew the family food in a vegetable garden. There’s only so much a woman can do.
Now the kids are on their own. The petting zoo- horses, ponies, bunnies, sheep, guinea pigs are gone.
Time to get back to Art. Because, you have to have Art.
Great Hives video. Always a bunch of goofballs. And a frontman with one of the best names ever for a rock’n'roll frontman — Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist …
