Good evening, guys.
Yes, Suzanne is still under siege from the Feds in the van parked outside her new home (they seem determined to track her all over, and can’t catch crooks), so I will be your humble server for yet another night.
It’s going well here, thanks. Thanks for the lovely Gillian Welch video…what a voice.
I talked to an OFA guy on the phone today. “Simpson-Bowles” rang no bells for him, nor did some other things. “Well, read up!” Ah well.
Hola, tejan-
Yes, it’s a play on a piece Suz and I used to do about a bunch of unshaven, smelly FBI agents parked outside her house survieling her hippie ass, parked on her phone cable and interfering with her internet connection.
Huh? Who do they hire for these things, for heaven’s sake?
I suppose it’s like any customer service/telemarketing operation; hire people at random and “train” them just enough to fake it, but not enough to really understand the issues. No more volunteers who are deeply steeped in all the issues because they care so much about them.
ctuttle – were you on the mountain last night? Or did you watch the Transit of Venus with a pinhole in a card and a piece of white paper like ordinary mortals?
MsCE took such good care of her 2006 Honda Civic that though smashed to window glass blowing out, Progressive Insurance, goddess love them, gave her a huge check to buy another car. She bought a Honda Fit.
I’d watched it on Mauna Kea’s various webcams, it was cloudy all afternoon down here in Hilo…! Totally loved wendy’s excellent vid she’d posted this morn…!
Ohio’s fine. And no I guess I wouldn’t cop to that if I were OFA, but I’m not, and I told the fellow not to be mush-headed. Don’t ask me to cheer for things under a Dem that I’d be cursing a Republican for, for heaven’s sake.
OK goodnight all, I’m reading a wonderful book called Cloud Atlas and gotta go back to it.
We have to nut up and go after them with a savagery that would make a tiger shark shit itself. How bad does it have to be? You might have read about or seen Barrett condemning Walker for a particularly harsh ad. Did you check out the actual ad about crime in Milwaukee? A blurred photo of a dead two year-old? That’s some terrible shit. And it didn’t appall people enough to turn against Walker. No, it worked. So we have to be at least that brutal. And don’t be a pussy and say that we shouldn’t stoop to their tactics. You use the tactics that succeed or you lose.
Evening, ThatGuy
Whenever it was that the ‘Left’ decided to bring plastic dining utensils instead of Howitzers to gunfights, they made themselves pretenders in public policy arguments – and to believe that that’s the whole story, you have to also believe that they are not drawn to the allure of cash and perks and jobs after their ‘public service’ day are done.
And it didn’t begin when Tom Daschle and Dick Gephart caved to Chimpy on 9/12/2001.
I am well, thank you.
I pulled back from FB a long time ago, after seeing it’s tentacles. I have adult clients who ask about it, and they say things like ‘My kids want me to get on Facebook.’ It is not uncommon for me to respond, “When the shit hits, I will not be there to soothe your bruises.
They get the point.
I know that locale Newton, it’s likely Sunday morning in The Sty, with John Sandich and it’s KPIG bless it’s heart dot com . . . nice catch hoss, locale, duo and song . . . *claps*

How’s it going?
Aloha, newt…! Mahalo again…! ;-)
For real? What is happening to Suzanne? Hey Newt!
It’s going well here, thanks. Thanks for the lovely Gillian Welch video…what a voice.

Mahalo back at you, CTut!
Are you a mountain-dweller this week?
Aloha CT!
That was a joke, right? right?
*heh* Monday nite, if yer available once again…? ;-)
*sniff* yer making me think like this was a Euraksprinngs pick. Good pick, nice memory.
Hi Chris!
Suzanne moved into her new place last week, but the Intertoobz vendor is a slacker who can’t get her connection fixed…
How’s things?
Hi Margot!
If you were OFA, would you cop to the fiscal crime of the century?
How’s Ohio this fine evening?
Lovely weather here — sunshine and 70′s temps. Makes me push my face to the sun. That said, MsCE received a good check for the smashed Honda.
Hola, tejan-
Yes, it’s a play on a piece Suz and I used to do about a bunch of unshaven, smelly FBI agents parked outside her house survieling her hippie ass, parked on her phone cable and interfering with her internet connection.
Aloha, Christine…! Suz, is still tubeless for the time-being, folks…! 8-(
Huh? Who do they hire for these things, for heaven’s sake?

Hey Kelly, that is some good Late Late Night FDL knowledge!
How you doin?
I will host the pups Monday night, then.
Just 4 days tubeless left us tired. The huge tree fall took out all the electric lines.
*heh* They still f*ck with my toobz, from time to time, newt…! ;-)
We’re getting very good weather here as well.
Boo-yah on the check! Someone should be getting paid!
Whew. I thought so, but, y’know, the world is all weird all the time now…
ctuttle – were you on the mountain last night? Or did you watch the Transit of Venus with a pinhole in a card and a piece of white paper like ordinary mortals?
Here is Suzanne’s response to that line from this afternoon:
“I’m going to offer them a plate of Ex-Lax™-laced brownies for their trouble…”
I truly feel for Suz, but, being the super-trooper she is, she says she’s surviving(thriving) with books and her Ipod…! *g*
MsCE took such good care of her 2006 Honda Civic that though smashed to window glass blowing out, Progressive Insurance, goddess love them, gave her a huge check to buy another car. She bought a Honda Fit.
Us subversives ALWAYS get the heat!
Mine are cool now, but after tonight, who knows?
There’s another Ruby I have a crush on – Don Fagan’s “Ruby” wich is awesome.
But there’s this guy who is TOTALLY AWESOME! He switches right and left hands, so the Ruby piano solos? On the left. Love that. :)
Yeehaw!
I’d watched it on Mauna Kea’s various webcams, it was cloudy all afternoon down here in Hilo…! Totally loved wendy’s excellent vid she’d posted this morn…!
tres cool..
I didn’t get the above piece from ES, but the inspiration – all-Eureka.
ES gave me a spot on LLN way back acouple years agoe…

Goodnight All!

…I told the fellow not to be mush-headed. Don’t ask me to cheer for things under a Dem that I’d be cursing a Republican for, for heaven’s sake.

I like my Republicans with an ‘R” next to their names.

The Rude Pundit NAILS the whole “progressive” thing as it relates to the failure in Wisconsin.
Here’s my favorite:
Build Me a Boat to Nowhere…
What’s become of Eureka Springs? Any idea?
Thanks, newt. Love Gillian. I doubt these two have played together before, sounded like two experts playing after discussing it for a few minutes.
Oh, dear. Glad nobody was hurt, CE. Must have scared the bejabbers out of you.

How you doing?
Loo Hoo!
I don’t know what ES is up to, but I think someone mentioned seeing him on the Facebook machine (which I avoid like the plague).
How you doing?
John Dean was right, in that, Tricky Dick and his entire crew should’ve been put behind bars…!
Doing well, how are you? I avoid FB too, I friended too many people, and can’t figure out how to unfriend. Way too much junk.
It is worth noting that G. Gordon Liddy (who actually DID go to prison) is regarded by may Conservatives as a hero.
No accounting for taste.
Stubborn Love…
I am well, thank you.

Wow, that is very much in the Eureka Springs tradition. Very nice.
*heh* Thought ya’d appreciate it, newt…! ;-)
I do miss Eureka’s awesome picks too, I do enjoy seeing him at Crack Book and at Moon of Alabama, from time to time..! ;-)
Secrets On Our Lips…
Check out Matthew and the Atlas
We Throw Parties, You Throw Knives…
Ooh, I likey…! ;-)

Time for me to hit the sack – nice hanging out with you guys this evening…
Tonight’s parting gift
Emmylou Harris and The Chieftains
nite all
Mahalo, newt, pleasant dreams…! *g*
I know that locale Newton, it’s likely Sunday morning in The Sty, with John Sandich and it’s KPIG bless it’s heart dot com . . . nice catch hoss, locale, duo and song . . . *claps*
These two are all outta Santa Cruz, used to hang with folks I still know before they moved off to Nashville.
A grand duo, with some 15 years or more now behind them.
I grin thinking you like this music and harmony . . . BTW, loved yer FB posting of yer recent work on that Led Zep tune, grand, hoss, grand.
I miss Eureka Springs, also. He knew music, we had disagreements, but he was good at what he was.
I see him sometimes on Moon Over Alabama, Bernhard’s digs after Whiskey Bar shut down . . . been a year tho . . . miss him, yes.
Heh, Fagen . . . still my teen aged angst favs him n Becker n The Dan.
Had no idea he did this old rock 50′s cover like this . . . good!
Reelin In The Years, Do It Again, that whole first album still slays me.
Nice catch.
WOW! Major flashback dude!
2009 . . . . n Kelly, yer still woikin on that one?
*G*
Hope springs eternal! Let’s pick.
I’ve alway been partial to Gillian’s ‘Caleb Meyer’, a real sordid tune in a minor key.
N their work with the break out of Old Crow Medicine Show at Ryman Auditorium on ‘The Weight’ is outstanding.
They have made their mark, Welch N Rawlings have, in their years.
ONe of my fav songs along with Wait A Minute . . .
One by Graham Parsons, the other by Herb Pedersen.
Seldom Scene, and John Duffey tho, did the best ever cover of Hickory.
Duffey, Rosenthal, Eldridge, Auldridge, Grey. Seldom Scene.
Just sayin. ;-)
