The Miracle of Flight by Terry Gillam. This 1971 cut-out animation was produced, directed, written and animated by Terry Gilliam and repackaged as a stand alone film in 1974:
The film was made in 1971 for the American-British TV show The Marty Feldman Comedy Machine. Monty Python was on hiatus that year, so Gilliam went to work for the short-lived Comedy Machine, creating the opening credit sequence and various animated features using his trademark airbrush and paper cutout techniques.
Grab your popcorn, put your feet up on the coffee table, and try to keep the spitballs off the screen please. This is Late Late Night FireDogLake, where off topic is the topic … so dive in. What’s on your mind?

About Firedoglake
Suzanne!! Hope you Saturday evening is going well…
hey nahant — how’s deadwood city tonight? we had another thunderstorm come through around 7pm — i love those just before sunset storms. poured down rain and then the skies cleared albeit too late to see the sunset.
Too dam cold down here … running the wood burner just to keep the dang chill off the house…
Suz! Boy it’s hot here. Wish we had a lovely storm.
got up to the 70′s yesterday but its only been 60′s today. sun through thur it was only in the 50′s — felt (and looked) more like march than may
hey margot? how hot did the wilds of ohio get?
Hey Margot,
Still breezes here with fans on … expect very hot temps tomorrow. Hiya all! Suzanne — hugs galore.
It sure feels like early March here…
Stinkin’ hot here.
Does anyone have any advice for singlehandedly getting wormer into a cat?
Wrap it in a cheese slice…
Suz–I don’t know, I really avoided looking at the thermometer. Like if i don’t think about how many decades old my car is, it won’t break so fast…
Chris, I hear you!
That works for cats?
I know cheese/peanut butter are great for pilling dogs, didn’t know it worked for cats.
Anyway, this is liquid. Does that still work?
Good evening Suz. Hiya LLN pups, tuezday, Christine, Margot, Nahant. Colder weekend here, low 60′s.
hey ce — margot said it was really hot in her part of the state.. how hot is it supposed to get?
Aloha, Suz and lln pups…! A kewl clip, Suz…! ;-)
hey tuez — don’t look at me — i never could get a pill down token and he’s a dog – much easier to dose than a cat
do ya have 4 sets of thick heavy gloves and 3 helpers?
hey past — i would rather have cooler than hot. i don’t do hot well at all. how was your day?
aloha tut — how’s paradise? ellie sent it to me and i could not resist :)
*heh* Dare I say that a nice cool evening shower and breezes has arrived here…? ;-)
Great vid, Suzanne! Glad he eventually enlarged it into Brazil :-)
It was a beautiful 78 today, but expected 89-92 tomorrow. I cooked like a fool today, making cold salads. Coleslaw, cickpea and feta salad, deviled eggs, and we will grill tomorrow.
hey aitch – glad ya liked it — how ya doing tonight?
Liquid? Try a Pyrex custard cup or shallow coffee cup, put in the dosage and add a small amount of delicious salmon and mix it together. If Puss licks the cup for more, add some more salmon. I suppose you have to run a series for some days?
A cool summer evening is much more appealing. Plus we now have mosquitoes.
Good day today. The mrs., her sister and my daughter returned from China today. Picked them up at the airport about 2:30 this afternoon. Mrs. now sleeping soundly after a long day of travel & airports.
Ooh, sounds delish; chickpea and feta salad, what all do you add to it, CE…?
No complaints, thank you. You doing okay?
*shrudder* those little forkers sure love me but i don’t feel the same about them
But lightning bugs too, yes?
I doubt it… I guess the only way is to get the kitty calm in your arms then jam the tube down the throat and hope for the best.. Ya might ta wrap the kitty in a towel or some thing like that…
how long were they gone? what did they bring ya?
better than yesterday — i was a hurting puppy last night from all that walking. been taking it easy today and babying it
Be gentle, but firm, tuez…! ;-)
Yes! Fresh tomatoes and lightning bugs, that’s the good part about a summer here.
fresh herbs, so fragrant!
they were gone just over two weeks. Brought me a tee shirt, a small bottle of liquor, a whiskey flask with a red star-hammer-and-sickle emblem, and black silk boxers with red dragons on it.
Aww. Since we’re live in real time
VVVSuzanneVVV
(those are some strong good directional vibes!)
Do you lounge in a warm tub with Epsom salts?
Okay 4 puncture wounds in my hand later, the evil deed is done.
This was 3 of 3 doses. This time, I didn’t have someone else to hold the cat.
What is the attraction people have with cats? Damn they are a pain in the ass.
Just fresh herbs, what about onions and garlic…? What’s the binder, Italian Dressing, CE…?
that whiskey flask sound great and va-va-va-voom…. was this their first trip there?
well done tuez!!!
yup!! ☺
Oh CT, always garlic, lemon, olive oil and salt and pepper.
not today. this afternoon i was making membership calls as part of the membership engagement team and afterwards sat out on the front porch on the bench soaking up some vit d. jen and mike were gone for several hours and i kicked back and enjoyed the sounds of silence. thanks for the reminder — i usually have epsom salts for my baths – now that i’m bathing instead of sitting on a forking bench in the shower i’m gonna need to get some

Therein lies the rub…! And they’re my fave furry critter, solely because of their aloofness…! ;-)
well niters Pups ☺ ☺ ☺ ☺ ◙ ⌂ ╕
kittehs are very pill-resistant. Ours can effortlessly reject pills, but seemed to have a harder time rejecting the liquid in the eye dropper. Hard to force her mouth open though once she realizes what’s coming.
Simply EVOO and Lemon juice, eh…? I’d add some sweet Maui Onion and other fresh veggies too…! ;-)
g’nite nahant
Pleasant dreams, nahant…!
Yes, first trip. They had a good time sightseeing and visiting with our youngest son & his wife (who is Chinese). It helped so much on their sightseeing that our d-i-l was there to translate.
a huge help! how forking kewl!!! why didn’t you go?

Need to be Firm and quick in delivering the dosage…! ;-)
Aloha, robert…! Ain’t that the truth…? ;-)
hey robert — how ya doing tonight?
ain’t that the truth.
A bit busy at work, plus somebody had to keep an eye on our 4 cats. I’ll get to go some other time.
tis a long flight… an entire day getting there and then ya miss another day getting back home…
My kitty is purring on the sofa, curled up with his head resting on my hip. Any moment now, he’ll be snoring….
hey robertarend, there’s some truth to that. I blame it on the Egyptians, weren’t they one of the first civilizations to domesticate cats?
I truly envy ya, robert…! *sigh*
Yep, but then, on the other hand, the Chinese eat them. Whenever The Merlin gets a little bit too bitchy/bitey, I put him in his carrier and drive past the nearby Chinese restaurant.
That makes him behave for awhile….
I could use a cold Steinie…! ;-)
sorry to be nodding off so early pups — i’m looking forward to my days off and seeing what tut has up his sleeve for lln in my absence
thanks for letting me hang out with ya tonight.
g’nite all
G’nite Suz, sleep well and keep healing. You’re doing great.
Sweet dreams, Suz…! Enjoy your ‘weekend’ off…! *g*
A little something I’d just posted on Crackbook… Beds are burning… Being the firebagger that I am…! ;-)
Goodnight, Suzanne–sorry I missed you! Just popping in to say hi. I’ve been busy as blazes, so haven’t had much time to visit the blogs lately, but hope you are happy and doing well!
Lord knows I don’t start trouble (snort). But this time trouble may finish me.
hey votus! so glad ya stopped by and i’m sorry i was zzz’ing when ya did :)
