Hi CT. Another quiet night at the lake. I suspect that others feel the way I feel…..we are quietly under assault from the powers that be and no one seems to know how to push back without getting a baton to the head or some pepper spray in the face. Pretty grim. But, hey, tell me about paradise! How’s it going out in lovely land?

And, I’ve been resting since pushing back against TSA-guy today. Has anyone heard anything new from TarheelDem?

Eve of Destruction…

Dearie how’s the Tomato plants. My plan for three sisters was delayed a few weeks but I think I am getting this new bed in pretty good shape now. Got a worm bin going two more planned. Quite a few projects. Remodeling the scull, glassing in the front of the 16″ tomato hothouse. The Montana Red Spring Wheat has kernels filling in. And got a new potato patch started.

Hi, BB. My dad’s tomatoes are doing great….some fruit set. But he knew we were planting them too early and he was, of course, right. The plants are glorious, but we just hope the tomatoes that continue to set won’t pull the plants down.

My daughter’s plants are also looking good. The twins are still eating every Blue Lake bean that sets…..they are so proud that they planted the initial beans. Three and a half is a wonderful age to learn about plants! Girlie’s pepper plants are lush, and she planted a whole ‘nother huge pot of beans, and they are doing great.

With all the training (rowing, running and ERG I have the energy and a great landlord so I do. I want to lead in sustainable living by example urban gardeneing. Some are catching on.

The tomatoes are well staked (you’d have laughed out loud seeing the twins carrying the long stakes through the garden store with their mother and grandmother making sure they didn’t knock anything down!) But, oh, the plants are so tall already! And Santa Barbara has been chilly and foggy, so not much fruit set at lower levels of the plants. It is fun to see the boys count all the tomatoes each weekend…..they are just enchanted with this stuff!

Which, by the way, what is the munchkin doing that’s new and adorable these days? My twin grandboys are cracking me up these days. They decided they would love to have twin little chiguaguas….. Leo wants to name his “Chi-wowwy-zowwy.” Marco wants to name his “Leo.” (I’m sorry, but my family seems to breed strange humor…..fortunately we all seem to have gotten the same strain of it!)

Hmmm… Maybe I need to download it and put into a public album…! He really cruises around in his walker these days…! ;-)

A Change is Gonna Come…

Hey all, thank you, CTuttle for this song tonight. Energy and Karma work among us. I’m going to tell a long story……..
We’ve had a very strange and community KARMA experience today.
Our community was impacted these last 2 months by a Wall Street hedge fund man, who turned out to be a Doomsday Trader. A word to the wise: if you’re a raging asshole Hedge Fund Dude looking to be Big Man On Mountain, the Puget Sound isn’t a wise choice of location. We don’t give a fuck.
We had an afternoon of sirens and double sirens[ which technically signal “Oh,Fuck” and then multiple sirens running down the roads. We were pushing the weather to get potatoes,carrots and onions planted before the soaking rains forecast to hit, so we couldn’t do a drive-by, we had to listen and form an opinion.
We decided that according to the siren ending MAYBE someone had shot Daemon,[shit you not, it’s his name}. Tongue in cheek assessment from pissed off neighbors.
This asshole just burned down his house because he was too cheap to clean his fucking chimney.
This asshole who bought the only fucking mansion, a mansion that impacted our community all during it’s creation in a negative way….this asshole who could google and realize no one else has a fucking mansion around here and that might be a problem…
This asshole who lost the long-term Caretaker.
This asshole who lost the long-time Housekeeper.
This asshole who wants 18 dozen fresh eggs a week and is such an asshole that the local Libertarian won’t sell his ass eggs.
This asshole just burned down his mansion this evening.
My son and his friend were the first responders once again. moving combustibles, chemicals and hazards away from the flames as neighbors. Fuck, even the fire dept. folks didn’t understand the reaction of certain common chemicals and heat. We could have had a Mustard Gas cloud…….except the locals saved us, once again.

I’m sorry, tuez, I am not sure my manners were up to par. When the ‘author’ said that TSA picks up its own costs, I just couldn’t hold back. I did my best to be polite, but I really do hate TSA. The only reason I keep putting up with the abuse is that I do love my daughter and her kids and I would rather endure the abuse than put my grandkids at risk for being terrorized by the TSA while trying to fly to see me. It’s been 3 weeks since my last ‘grope’ by the TSA, and it seems to take me longer and longer to get over it.

If I’m still angry about how Americans are treating me, an American, when I just want to fly to see my family, I can only begin to imagine how folks in the Middle East feel about what Americans are doing to them. Makes me sick. Add some drones over our cities and see how we feel. Outrage is imminent; I’m just amazed that it’s taking so long to get here.

And I’m just a mostly pleasant grandma.

No Dearie, you did great today. You and EW could barely hold back your loathing but you both were nice about it. Like I said to Bruce, the devil on my shoulder was barely under control. I just wanted to rip the guy a new one and ask if he was proud of his legacy. Is he proud of what he is leaving his grandkids?

R.I.P Robin Gibbs…!

I guess it’s our age, but too many people are dying.

Being a cynical woman I thought he’d bought it to torch it. The gossip line is humming as the mansion is burning in real time.
Apparently, he’s not well insured. But, it’s early in the game.
Also, the fire apparently started when he built a fire in the fireplace. That had happened before with witnesses. The mansion was put on minimal maintenance after a tragic accident when the previous owners daughter was killed by a falling tree limb attached to an old swing.
It’s always been a vacation mansion since it’s beginning, so to have a person actually taking year round living there….well, it’s kind of like the bottom of the cream. You know?
That said, my son has video I haven’t had the courage to watch yet. He just dropped his motorcycle at 40 mph yesterday and FINALLY agreed to go to the ER to get his knee checked out. His bike is totaled. And he wasn’t wearing his leathers because it was a short trip.
And he leaves to go fishing in the Bering Sea in 5 days.
So, I’m trying to take the drama a little slow because I know it’s going to hit like a wind storm tomorrow.

Oh well, Elvis, Frank, Dean and others did it, too. I guess it’s our generation’s turn to do sadness and loss.

Hey Tut an all. Thanks for the tunes tonight. It sure has been a long day following the live feeds. Hope i can get some sleep tonight. Morning looks to be more of the same.
