What’s on your mind?
Bonnie Raitt and Taj Mahal – She Caught the Katy
one week to go peeps… down to one week. i see the surgeon himself next thursday
hey dave — how ya been?
What was on your mind when you picked “Cry Me a River”? I’m hoping things are going well with you and yours!
I is otay.
Nice weather. I should be in the garden but I have no motivation. Also there are hundreds of moles headed that way. I don’t know what to do about them – maybe depleted uranium shells?
You shoulda posted this one…
hey dearie — how ya doing tonight? all three videos this week are covers by women of songs that tend to be covered by men…
oh dear.. are you going to have to go all bill murray on them?
Bonnie Raitt – Love Me Like a Man
hey thatguy — if ya scroll up you will see the theme i was doing this week. how ya been?
Just when you think the depravity exhibited by some, could not sink any lower, they come up with this.
Words fail me.
Might have to. I’ve got a few gopher gassers left, but what I really need is napalm.
tell it like it is
jeebus tuez — holy forking moly. how was your day?
avoid the tequila
My day was fine.
I’m glad to see you may soon come out of purgatory.
Bonnie Raitt, Eric Clapton, BB King
if i get the aok to start to walk, that’s when the real hard work begins.
I feel for ya. It’s gonna be painful.
How come women can forget the pain of childbirth, so they do it again, but no one, male or female, ever forgets the pain of a broken bone?
been through it several times with my left knee — am not looking forward to pt but i am looking forward to being able to walk and get full range of motion on my knee — or at least find out how much range of motion i have left
Barbra did CMAR on her first album. Wikipedia doesn’t mention it, but lists it at the end in a selected list. It’s the song she sang on TV when the world was discovering her in 1962-63.
Diana is — I have no words (but I have all her CD’s and DVD’s).
Great choice (now you belong in the Blog Hall Of Fame).
The only thing I see is Penis envy. I always was slow. The kitties are keeping me company during the day.
labor doesn’t last for 12 weeks
hey aitch — good to see your fonts and glad ya like tonight’s video. how ya been?
What do you mean, it lasts a lifetime.
Black Stone Cherry – Can’t You See
not the actual process of birthing…. after a year, a broken bone is healed
Suzanne, thank you for the music, as always.
Good luck as you start your rehab. When the work gets tough, “Take Five”
May the Goddess defend you.
hey glackin – how ya been? love brubeck — thanks dood
“I’m drinking wine more” — Vito to Michael, in the tomato garden.
When it’s convenient for you, check out the YouTube 3-parter of DK’s gig at the 2010 Montreux Jazz Festival, her band does Tom Waits, Dylan, Jerry Douglas sits in standing up, of course. Best stuff I’ve ever viewed on YouTube.
sweet! i’ve always been real fond of this one
I can’t log in with Adobe Flash Player. I can’t do anything and I’m pissed off. I’ve been trying for hours to log in and see music and I can’t see anything without new Flashpayer, which I can’t do. Fuck.
I know, you’ve linked it before (and the better resolution version iirc). Haha, Her Let’s Fall In Love (Live In Paris) is playing now on the Internet radio I stream…
I can’t see Diane Krall, Just nothing and saying that I need a new Flash Player. Good night and I’m so mad.
hey ce — did you download and install flash player? you don’t have to log in to that sofware. here’s the link to the shockwave update
Have you rebooted? That’s my answer to everything.
yeah i featured a killer version up top a while back…. i like it when a cover becomes a new song … like susan’s don’t think twice
You run WIndows, eh? If you check out Macintouch.com, you might discover what’s going on. Much discussion there over the past weeks about Flashplayer, the malware it brought to Macs, and yesterday or Tuesday’s Adobe’s Security Updates, including Flashplayer.
Heading for bed. Goodnight, peeps.
wow, weather dood says 80′s this weekend and maybe 90 on monday
Ahh, Susan (her wonderful ACL night!). If you ask me, I think Bobby’s fingering (1962?) invented the boogaloo rhythm. It’s the earliest I can think of or hear.
i hope the trucks-tedeschi band comes to portland — i wish i had been there the night she was playing with the allmans
I stopped going to big room live performances, or outdoor stuff. Neil Young was my last, mid 90′s: As soon as he started to play his harp, ten thousand jagoffs (yeah, it was outside Pittsburgh) yelled ‘BOOGIE!’, you couldn’t hear him.
A few years ago I made a game on the first tee with a guy (both of us khakis, no plaids), deep on the back nine he asks me if I like Blues, I say Sure, he says he’s going to hear Susan Tedeschi and asks did I ever hear of her.
i love her voice…. been a fan for years
I’ve got a Susan Tedeschi song on my currently dead iPod that absolutely kicks ass. It’s with an Italian singer I think.
On edit: it’s not mentioned in her wiki
I had that CD, my stepdaughter borrowed it permanently.
i lost my rrfb cd when a friend borrowed it….
looks like its time for me to join those who have fallen asleep.. this sleeping before the crack of midnight is as much as shock to me as getting up before the crack of noon….
thanks for letting me hang out with ya tonight and hope to see ya’ll tomorrow for muppets
Utterly shameless blog-pimping.
I just wrote a MYFDL on the direction the Occupy movement needs to take. I’m not a prolific writer, but it’s important enough to me to get the thought out there that I spent three hours to write the damn thing.
Be and heal well, Sweetie. Thanks a million as always…
I used to work at a small-town newspaper in California’s Gold Rush Country. A veteran reporter — “veteran” being a relative term, as we were all pretty young then — used to say “Cry Me a River” as a synonym for “Tough luck.” I can still see his grizzled smile as he said it.
Hey, Suzanne. Dropping in to say Thank You For This Song, I’d forgotten that I almost knew about Diana Krall…she did a song a while back that floored me. I love Cry Me A River.
My son just got signed onto a fishing boat after pursuing fishing for a year and a half. Sounds like a solid, good captain……Alaska in summer on a split of the haul, as opposed to hourly wage. It’s a big difference, incentive wise.
His mother says:
fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck and also mutters…..
” Our children come through us they are not of us”[Kahlil Gibran]…..”if you love it let it go” [hippy poster].
It’s hard to watch that choice and not freak out. But, considering there was just a going away party for 2 of his friends who enlisted in the Army it’s all good.
Yeah, one of my favorite expressions said with a pirate grin….
