zed?
hi suz, how are you doing?
hey spur — how ya doing tonight?
just wanted to drop by for a bit and wish everybody a happy, blessed and yummy easter
am glad its my friday night spur — been a long week and tomorrow is julianna’s first birthday party (she turns one on monday)
ok here, slowly falling asleep. and you?
hey bfl — how ya doing tonight? hope all your chocolate bunnies have big ears…..
first b-day already?? amazing! hope she has a nice one. :-)
I loved George Jetson’s job: constantly pressing a button. Everyone knew, it wasn’t gonna be this way.
got the yawns a few ago … this afternoon was spent making MET calls to members with the MET team – sat is always a long day for me but tonight i’m tireder than usual
Best.Theme.Ever in cartoon lore.
Hi Suz!
i don’t have any such excuse, except that i get up pretty early
hey mikey — how ya doing? i always coveted that kick george outta bed thing… i’ve slept through many an alarm and am glad those days are behind me. and the flying car. and i have always wanted a rosey
But The Jetsons was lame.
hey newton — tis one of my favorites too — how ya been? this was the very first jetsons cartoon
i try to avoid it whenever possible but some days i just gotta get up early too. got any plans for tomorrow?
so were the flintstones…. same concept different era is all
Aloha, Suz and lln pups…! It’s one year already, eh…? I’ll be seeing the munchkin tomorrow for Easter, the Better Half has a easter basket full of toys, for him, including a rubber ducky…! ;-)
Yeah, it plays like a ‘here’s the premise’ episode.
Plus, the ‘Season 1, Episode 1′ thing.
How you doing?
Sidebar: I never understood how it got by the censors on The Beverly Hillbillies when ol’ Jed Clampett bought Mammoth Studious so’s Elly-Mae could meet some young gentlemen suitors. (Arf,arf) Besides Dash Riprock, one was named Bolt Upright. Went over my childlike head. *Stunned*
nope, none whatsoever
aloha tut — how’s paradise tonight? we are celebrating jujube’s first birthday tomorrow and she’s gonna have fun with that birthday cake – the rest of us are having cupcakes but jen is setting the birthday cake in front of her (with tarps on the floor under her high chair) and gonna let her ‘have at it’… gonna be good times :)
the george voice is a little off at the beginning – at least to my ears. i remember seeing this episode in reruns and never realized it was the first.
i’m doing ok — sunny day!!! not that i spent a lot of time out in it but i did get some.
crawling off to bed, nite suz, newt, and all
similar to the old classic cartoons — the animation was for the kiddies and the jokes were aimed at the adults.. bugs bunny for example — think back to the one where bugs is giving the monster a manicure…
g’nite spur
bugs and gossamer in hair raising hare
D’ya think Petticoat Junction made jokes about Hooterville?
OMGosh we did that too! First birthday, first sugar, and he went nuts. Icing in the hair, cake all over the face. It was wonderful.
I guess TV has cleaned up. It’s more blatant.
the early 60′s were full of double entendres — most of the comedy shows were full of them
hey ce — how’s cleveland tonight? i’m really looking forward to it since jen’s such a clean freak
Oh my stars Suzanne, how are you?
I am a clean freak too, except when it comes to celebrations. My poor little Jack rubbed the entire vanilla iced cake all over his face and head and ate as much as he could find. It was hilarious.
orange frosting, pink and purple accents and choclate layer cake… gonna be fun (bwa-hahahaha)
Or it was cloaked. Like Wimpy, in the old Popeye cartoons. I mean…Wimpy? And while Popeye and Bluto duked it out for Olive Oyl’s affections, Wimpy hung out with Swea’ Pea (!) and couldn’t care less. And he’s always gladly paying back later for a hamburger today: he’s eating himself to death!
My.
We need photos!
goes way back to the 30′s.. think of the thin man movies with nick and nora charles and all that witty repartee
i’ll try :) no guarantees
Looking at the movie “Midnight in Paris.” Such fun.
Midnight in Paris
the original cartoons were designed to entertain both the adults in the theater as well as the kids… the early tv cartoons, like the jetsons were the same. it was only later that the cartoons became a kids only teevee kinda thing and the dialog changed accordingly
Hey CT!
remember ‘family hour’. that’s when shows like the jetsons and the flintstones and batman and the beverly hillbillies aired… the dialogue was for both the parents and the kids….
did i break the tubes by going all cliff clavin?
No, I’m eating dark chocolate!
hence the laugh-track
bunny ears or eggs?
Aloha, Christine…!
Suz, I was busy prepping and packing the Easter ham and the fixings…!
yup.. just like so many other shows of the era — the dick van dyke show, etc.
Malley’s bunny bodies. Yikes.
what kinda fixings tut?
i polished off my easter goodie bag last night… steph made them up and gave them to everyone a couple nights ago since tomorrow is dedicated to just jules’ birthday
Hey how are you? Cold here, and no prep for Easter.
Biscuits, butternut squash, apple pie, custard pie, jello jigglers with tequila, etc…! ;-)
love custard pie…. and biscuits. gotta avoid the real alcohol as long as i’m on my meds so i’ve had to make do with petro’s e-drinks *sigh*
Soggy all day here, sure wish I could get rid of this head cold I’ve got…!
dr alka seltzer and mr hyde
Aloha, newt…! I just sent ya an email…!
Pretty cool commercial…!
answered
sorry it took so long to find it…. was trying to remember what cold product it was and that slowed me down
Mahalo, newt…!
Hi CT here is something that your Occupy may have already. A judge and her husband are taking me to a Non Violent training session and here is the basics http://s3.moveon.org/pdfs/half-day%20participant%20guide.pdf
Hope it is useful it is a collection by Move On (not my faves) so I go reluctantly, but then she is a retired judge he also a lawyer and members of The National Lawyers Guild.Noticed quite a few techniques that I have used.
sorry peeps to be bailing so early but the yawns and the pain meds have me going horizontal early tonight. i hope each and every one of ya has a great day tomorrow.
am looking forward to seeing what tut has on tap this weekend – hope to see ya there
g’nite all – thanks for letting me hang out with ya tonight
I’m signed up, along with three of my OH compadres, we’re attending the training next Saturday…! ;-)
nite suz
me too
Sweet dreams, Suz…!
Pleasant dreams, newt…!
Nice. A family dinner/picnic for the Tuttle. Me I have pile of papers on any flat spot…so I am going after catching up and filing in recycle or file cabinet. The wind was wild here this week but has mellowed so rowing in the bay today and gardening are tomorrow’s agenda at my place. Have a great time. Buenos Noches.
I should add that we’re going for the training alone and not about to be co-opted by Move On…! I’m no fan of Move On either, bb…! ;-)
Buenos Noches, Mi Amigo…!
Couldn’t make it last night, but watching the vids now.
What a catch!!
Original first episode!!
This is why YOU are the QUEEN of LLN!!
