I had resurfacing on December 7.

I bought a cute little used Honda scooter for my daughter when she was in grad school. She loved it! She then moved to snow country and sold it before she moved. But she really liked it…..convenient, relatively safe (in an area with lots of ‘em), and inexpensive., and easy to find parking.

I’m thinking for city use a scooter would be most excellent, especially here in Florida. Unless I go to the grocery store or Petsmart (I take the dog), a scooter is all I really need. And the gas powered ones go fast enough to keep up with almost all city traffic.

I’d rather have electric but they are slower and have a limited range, although I don’t usually go that far.

My daughter always wore her helmet. She looked so cute! It was perfect for getting up and down the hills and for carrying her books and teaching supplies…..and she didn’t have the huge parking fees and constant struggle to find parking on a busy university campus.

helmets protect against about a 300G shock. Which occurs when you fall on your head from about 2 meters.

I’m doing quite well. Lots of family activity, etc. On Sat. I went to the first birthday of a nephew on my wife’s side. It was raining so everyone was inside, and it looked like we’re having a local population explosion. But, it was great being around all of those little kids.

This one-year-old had only learned to walk in the past four weeks, since we last saw him. Damn, he please with himself at the capability of walking.

The truth of the matter is, we don’t know what really happened. I, personally, suspect something happened that wasn’t visible and/or disappeared so fast no one saw it.

When I’m around a bunch of little kids, I have difficulty hearing anything over the background noise. But, I can always get a big audience of kids by making coins disappear and other cheap magic tricks. That entertains both them and me. ;-)

See, though, if I recall, that was Rayne’s last stand. I could be wrong, but that sad meltdown kind of took her out, too. I kind of think that when a thread goes so awry, maybe it should be terminated or broken into smaller issues or something. The food fight going on (and apparently it’s still going on) gets real messy and some ugly stuff gets thrown and some who are maybe not so healthy can go over the edge. Not a good thing. For anyone.

My first impression of occupygaza was that it was a troll. Someone recently thought it was Leen reincarnated. I think that is an interesting take on things.

I remember the old days when any comment that contained the word “AIPAC” was automatically routed to moderation, where it was delay for ten minutes or so.

Things have come a long way since then.

I can appreciate that, this one, indeed, likely had the mods gnashing . . . I sure fired off some stuff at neer do wellers that likely broke some rules, but hey, it was all in defense of FDL, n the regulars.
