Peter Gabriel – Don’t Give Up
What’s on your mind tonite…?
Hi, again, CT. Teddy did good work at Late Night. Hope we have some rousing discussion here at LLN, too.
Aloha, Dearie…! That Teddy did and yes, I’m always game for a rousing discussion…! ;-)
I expect CE to arrive at any moment……….. told her to come on up. She’ll be heading your way real soon, if I recall. That will be fun!
Hey CT hows the islands??
Wow! Routed to a new platform at this late hour. Hiya Dearie and CT. Spring temps here.
I’m really looking forward to her visit here…! 8-)
CE, are you getting packed for some fun in the sun? I think I recall that you are headed for paradise soon. What fun!
Aloha, nahant…! Are you and the family over the latest bout of ‘ick’…?
Aloha, Christine…! Will ya drop me another email soon…?
Oh Dearie and CT, I am really excited. I’ve never been to Hawai’i and I cant’t wait. Marsha and I are just packing. I bought two bathing suits today.
Yay! I’m sure that you will have a fabulous time. Hawaii is still on my wish list.
I will. I have an enormous presentation on Tuesday night. And just hours later, we leave.
evening, firedawgs – how’s everyone tonight?
Anything you’ve read catch your fancy yet, Christine…?
Aloha, PPD…! How’s your slice of Cali tonite…?
Kind of off track, but we are having massive winds down here in south central California…..blowing so hard that I’m just hopeful that my recycle bin and garbage bin don’t blow over in the night! Crazy weather all over the country…… just a fluke, I guess/
Are the winds coming from the Ocean or the Mtns…?
Still my all-time fave tune… Solsbury Hill…
Today the winds are coming off the ocean….but it’s been so crazy here that we’ve had series of a day off the ocean and then next day out of the desert. My allergies are making me crazy! I do like it, though, when the waves kick up enough so that I can hear them ….I’m several hundred yards from the ocean, so sometimes I really do get to hear the crashing, and I like that!
Nothing like the crash of waves to soothe the soul…! ;-)
Be sure to wave down at Nahant & me as you fly over CA on the way to HI, CE.
Does keep one humble……and the sound really does soothe.
We are getting there I think.. I am the last one to have been infected and it seems like it is a three week ordeal… Still feeling crappie but seems to get better daily.. Of course MJ does make it easier to cope with the symptoms… And of course helps with the food intake… Tonight I made Curry Kahfata with wild rice & a Curry sauce with onions, mushrooms green & red peppers and steamed veggies.. Ohhh so good… sure clears the sinuses…
Next time I get the ick, I’m coming to your house! I do love to hear about what’s cookin’. :)
finally getting our rainy season, five months too late; snow on the mountain behind me so it’s cold tonight.
I’m sure the curry would clear out the sinuses, nahant…! ;-)
What is Curry Kahfata, tho…?
Well when ya getting here?? I do love ta cook and there is nothing better than happy eaters… Of course I too Love ta eat what I make…. Of course if it doesn’t meet my expatiation’s ya don’t get any… ☺ ☺
Games Without Frontiers…
hey, nahant — family’s got the bug that’s going around?
Ground Lamb with jalapenos, onions, garlic and Hot Madras Curry, a bit of chef Paul’s SF ginger marinade& green onions all finely chopped & mixed together then made into to meatballs. Cooked in extra virgin olive oil till nice and browned then kept hot in a 300 degree oven whilst ya make the curry sauce with added green and red bell peppers, more onion, fresh sliced mushrooms. Of course ya gotta make a rue from the meat drippings and more oil, flour and cooked until it browns up and then all the other veggies and=d more curry powder cook till it thickens and serve over a wild & brown
rice mix… Did I say it was GREAT??
I am the last to be afflicted and maybe the worst… Oh well I got the drugs to cure and am On the way to breathing and feeling good again… Has not been fun at all..
Dayam, that sounds awesome…! ;-)
Yum! I love to cook, too. But your descriptions are divine. Keep ‘em coming. I gain less weight while reading your descriptions than while eating my own cooking. (And no dishes to wash!)
A great version of Biko…
Love those virtual calories, eh…? ;-)
Virtual calories are the best kind!
You have the respiratory virus? I was down for two full weeks, then another two weeks to get back to real life. Got a suggestion, if you want?
Yeah that’s the one… I have also been using the nasal irrigation to clean out the sinuses which sure helps… Of course I also have what the VA has me keep on hand for just bouts of upper respiratory infections… At least they let me keep RX’s here so I can get the upper hand on it…
Did ya’ll see my munchkin’s latest pic…? ;-)
Peter Gabriel is your kid???? check your link…or is FDL getting goofy again?
Hmmm…! My bad…! Here’s the little munchkin…
Maybe at this link? https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150738745071042&set=a.10150657692071042.444681.557101041&type=1&theater
It must be my computer having a fling…..that link took me to a Facebook page that belongs to a friend of mine…. a series of pix I hadn’t seen before. So thanks, I think.
Well time ta say niters Pups… Sleep well when ya get there and CT he is a keeper…..
Tried it again and finally got to see the buddha baby! What a doll!
I did fix the link @43, but, yes that’s the Better Half with the Munchkin…! ;-)
Pleasant dreams, nahant…!
Hmmm seems like a proud GrandPa to me… I know we have eight of them munchkins.. some not so little any more….
Ain’t he a cutie…? That was only a half-smile from the little buggah, too…! Every time anybody busts out a camera he gets fascinated with it and won’t grin ear-to-ear…! ;-)
You know it, nahant…! Guilty as charged…! ;-)
By mid-April, I will have had 5 grandchildren in 4 years. And it’s been a joy all the way! I guess when you wait til kids are in their mid-30s to start ‘giving with the grandkids’ it’s just fabulous when they come along. Love ‘em all!
In Your Eyes…
Can’t help but love ‘em all…! ;-)
CT, the little man is adorable! If I may ask, is he native Hawaiian heritage? He is one beautiful baby!
the nasal irrigation is good. Because it’s a virus, I had five, big hot waters everyday with fresh lemon juice, mint & honey to flush completely.
He’s a ‘poi dog’, with slices of anglo-saxon, filipino, puerto rican, mexican, hawaiian, and several other blood quantums…! ;-)
Definitely a joy boy! Here, the same winds you have had cancelled our Long Beach Regatta competition all boats and equipment were loaded and ready to go for Saturday morning. Good prep work. Life goes on.
Weird weather for California, but we got an inch of wonderful rain and I was able to store 150 gallons in barrels. So my garden and I are mucho happy.
Well, whatever the mix, it sure worked! He’s going to be a heart throb when he’s a teen. So cute! The joy of all these new little people is that it takes my mind off the political devastation taking place and steels me for the fights ahead to make their futures safe and purposeful.
night, CT – take care
Ooh, Cat Stevens(Yusaf Islam) & Peter… Wild World…
He has bright headlights and that will get him through lifr sucessfully!
Aloha, bb…! *g*
Pleasant dreams, PPD…!
Great that you were able to store water. Yes, the sea was really, really choppy all weekend. I’m down in Oxnard, where are you? Long Beach Regatta? Was that a run down to Long Beach?’
I did the Ensenada Race twice when I was a young teacher. Interesting experiences. Never did a long sail again. Enough was enough for me.
I push my bod through hard work and have not recovered really well. So I got out an electric blanket that keeps the muscles warm and I sleep like a baby! Wake up with a good hunger and look for food. The coach gave me a boat today too!
The first reaction of everybody is ‘what gorgeous eye lashes’…! He’s doomed…! ;-)
He really is a lot of my inspiration these days to Occupy…!
This is rowing competition. I am in Los Osos so we would meet on SLO and drive to LB. I drove down to Ensenada during the Sail from LA as the sailboats were coming in out of the fog then, partied with them. It was like another world. I will always remember the sails appearing out of the fog in a kind of poetic dreamy way.
I do like that these grandbabies inspire. I’d be a basket case if I didn’t see that there really is a future and … well, just because I fought the good fight in the late 60s and 70s doesn’t mean I won’t have to fight the good fight again. I hadn’t expected to have to take to the streets again. I’d actually anticipated a quiet and sublime retirement with trips to Italy, Spain, Ireland. Oh, well! If I have to take to the streets, then I’ll just go buy some sturdy shoes.
If I start paddling, will ya meet me half way…? ;-)
Glad it was foggy and dreamy and poetic. For me it was ‘interesting’ and sometimes ‘life threatening’….and I was just glad to get home to Long Beach after eventually bailing my then-husband out of the jail … one of four….where I finally found him.
Oh, well! If I have to take to the streets, then I’ll just go buy some sturdy shoes.
No doubt…! Do ya remember Obummer’s ‘comfortable shoes’ speech too…? 8-(
The difference between him and me is that I tell the truth!
And ‘walk the talk’…! *g*
CT…Now there is a newsworthy event…but, but , but you get the trades.
Dearie…Every Monday the Moms and Dads roll there babies down to the Farmers market then the tiny park for an afternoon of play. The bothers and sisters come along. Doesn’t matter who’s kids they are so interesting as they display their special approaches to socializing. I look forward to the carnival of the market,, the families and the old folks who are the political warriors (some).
Another difference is you are a lawyer while he is a liar. How do I know…his lips are moving. G)
*heh* I’d be fighting the trades home, and you’d have ‘em at your back, going back…! ;-)
I love the farmers markets, too. We are lucky on the west coast to have that year round. I hit ‘em all …. and each is special in its own way. The Oxnard market has a dock where fishermen sell their catch. Ventura market is lots of great produce folks who’ve been coming for years. Santa Barbara market is filled with varieties of things I can’t find anywhere else. Recently some small peppers that are delicious when quick sauteed in olive oil with just a touch of salt. Great stuff!
Gotta head off to dreams now….. lovely to spend time here. Happy dreams to you.
Who says I’d want to go back? G)
I love our year-round Farmers Markets, too…! My only regret is that they’re not larger, and with more diversity in the produce they grow…!
Sweet dreams, Dearie…!
Nice chatting hope you all have great week.
Remember the green revolution and plant some seeds every day and you will grow too.
I wouldn’t blame ya, one Iota…! ;-)
Peace out, bb…! Pleasant dreams…!
I shall bid ya’ll a fond adieu…! Mahalo for the great company, and, I hope to see ya’ll tomorrow nite…!
Aloha Oe…! *g*
There is getting to be a bit of a breakdown in this thread over at my.fdl: “Two State Solution: Why A Jewish Democracy Is An Impossibility”.
