I’ve been ironing again…Dearie – guess what…at 4:45 today I got an email from prospective employer/assistant, asking me to show up at same place tomorrow…15 min. earlier.
Sigh.
I sent a reply agreeing, then wondered if I should’ve. So, wash the white interview shirt and iron it again, iron a couple of backups, press lapels of a couple alternative jackets…try on the Spanx imitation with likely skirt…guess I’m ready. Have to wash hair again in the a.m. Drying it was what took the longest, since I don’t usually even bother. Sigh.

Would it be crazy to decide, if this meeting fails, to throw the whole thing over?
Trouble is, my sleep has been really messed up since Monday’s notice to meet Tuesday – about 1 hr sleep that night, each night since, no sleep till early am, then sleep till early pm, get up groggy and sluggish…

I figure I can’t overcome the age prejudice without showing as energetic and sharp, and I’m sooooo tired not sure I can do that. But with luck, I’m tired enough to sleep.

TicketMaster™ (bastards) seems to have them all locked up. And, I can’t.
I went to a show in Oakland in 2010. It broke me. Worth it, but I skipped lunches for 10 days.

The last show we saw was Bruce a few years ago and only because a friend bought floor tickets and then realized he and his wife weren’t in the kind of shape it took to hang out on the floor for a few hours.

The worst seat in the house is $141.00, plus a load of fees and stuff. I found 2 mile-distant nosebleeds together. After fees, it’s $445 for the pair.

I spent a couple of evenings at Chico Hot Springs in Montana with my daughter and her baby and her dog. I wandered down to hear the local band…. and, wow, they were great! I suppose they are still playing in Montana, but they so deserve a wider audience.

Tom Petty cancelled a tour a while back, when he realized that the promoter had seized control of the venues and charged fans up the wazoo for access.

Then when he finally got the tour back on track, he broke his arm and had to cancel… When he returned to tour, he did super-discounted shows in SF. 17 shows in 20 nights.

It was epic. KSAN (which was an actual radio station in those days) broadcast some of them live.
