You know, I get a kick out of deniers who will invariably say “So much for global warming” when there is a cold snap in December but when we have the warmest January on record, (like this January for example), I get nothing but crickets. So one cold week in December = global warming debunked but an entire month or year of temperatures several degrees above normal = m’eh. The conservative mind and the “logic” it employs are truly something to behold. I guess it’s a natural response when one doesn’t understand the difference between climate and weather.

We need as much CO2 as possible on Earth, so that we can become the next Venus. That’s what you’re saying, right? Just as water’s not a pollutant, so a flood must be a great thing.

I can’t help but notice that none of the authors are actual climatologists. That’s the reason this screed was published in the WSJ. Science must be predictable, testable and reproducible, if it is not all three of those things, it is not science. In order to get published in scientific forums, it must have another layer which is peer review. WSJ breaks all four of these rules, making this no better than the opinion of a bunch of people who have no idea what they are talking about to a crowd of rich people who pay them handsomely to construct a fantasy for them to feel better about what their actions are doing to the planet and atmosphere. This is an opinion piece, nothing more and opinion and science are not synonymous. They are just not, no matter how many rich people say they are.

I also couldn’t help but notice that the family who sold the WSJ to Newscorp claimed to have assurances from Newscorp that they wouldn’t turn the WSJ into just another Murdoch tabloid. That evidence is in at least.
