Old Crow Medicine Show — Wagon Wheel.
What’s on your mind?
Hi Suz! How goes?
hey newton — doing ok. jen’s surgery is tomorrow morning and i have my worry if i don’t hear from mike by (x) timeline all set.
how was your day?
Aloha, Suz and lln pups, from Subaru Telescope again…!
aloha tut — how’s the mt tonight?
Best wishes to Jen and all…! *g*
Good thing I took antibiotics.
thanks tut — she sounded really good today when we talked on the phone — did my old heart good to hear her being so positive and sounding more like her old self. having 7 hours of sleep last night really helped her :)
There’s no way Mike will leave you hanging fire…
And may whatever deity actually holds court over such things win at poker the night before, and be in a good mood for the surgery.
hey wmd — oh dear – what’s going on?
Clear skies above, and 10-15 mph winds making it chillier than the reported -1 C here…! ;-)
from your fingers to….
shiver — sounds like a double longjohn night
RC’s bite and scratches yesterday definitely carried pathogens. I made an appointment for veterinarian to take care of his abscess tomorrow.
oh dear — i was hoping that was not going to be what you said. being pro-active and very body aware is always a good thing and you did well.
I do have my long johns on and three layers of clothes…! ;-)
i hear them all
I took a 500 mg Amoxicillin last night, 2 more during day, picked up prescription for Augmentin as that is what surgeon said I should take.
ooooo eye candy and ear candy… that’s a sweet video dood
I took a 500 mg Amoxicillin last night, 2 more during the day. Picked up prescription for Augmentin my surgeon told me is recommended treatment, will be taking it for next week.
I posted a response twice, I’m on Augmentin now, which is basically Amoxicillin with an adjunct that works on resistant bacteria. 500 mg Amoxicillin 3 times until I picked up prescription.
Thought ya might enjoy it…! Dang, almost time to suit up already…! Our hourly shifts start on the half hour…! Takes five minutes or more to bundle up…! ;-)
posting isn’t working for me. well I did 3 posts that disappeared, all had a link to wikipedia – Augmentin is antibiotic I picked up…
Oh, wmd, I’m so sorry about the cat bite. I’m sure RC wouldn’t have done it if he could’ve helped it…Feeling for both of you. Is the bite painful?
ctuttle – if it weren’t for you, I’d never have known it could get that cold in HI, even on the mountains. (Of course, I’m reminding myself -1 C is, what, 30 or so F? Still cold
Suze – at 2 – lol. That’s the most organized mother-worry-warting I’ve ever heard.
Sending good thoughts for Jen and wmd and RC, too.
wmd — are they gonna up your antibodics? weren’t you on them pre-dental? does it mean you will have to stay on them longer?
Just a drive-by on my way to bed…
It has occurred to me that it is easy to explain Romney. He made his money, set himself up with a modest $20 million per year in unearned income, and needed a hobby.
So he runs for office.
He actually managed to get elected in Mass. Since then, he just runs. That’s why he says anything and flip-flops on a dime – he doesn’t have an agenda he wants to enact, he doesn’t stand for anything, he just needs something to do to pass the time. He doesn’t raise orchids, he doesn’t save lighthouses, he dabbles in politics.
wmd — i guess ya tripped the filters.. refresh and i’ve freed them… takes a moment for them to show up
hey tejan…. thanks — i do try to be efficient and know exactly when i am supposed to start worrying :) how ya doing?
yeah, I take Augmentin for a week. Yes infected cat bite is painful… I don’t blame RC for getting agitated and biting.
hey dave — hobby is a very good term. how ya doing tonight?
so i saw when i freed them…. i have no idea what that tripped the filters and your comment about being able to post didn’t…. sorry about that dood
It’s a tempting theory.
Did anybody here watch the “debate?” I peeked at it from time to time, but it makes my blood boil. Rather “watch” on twitter and live blogs…lots funnier.
They’re all crazy. Who has any idea what any of them believes? (with the possible exception of R Paul. And Santorum believes in god and running every body else’s sex lives)
I’m about ready to start a petition for a Constitutional amendment forbidding anyone within three degrees of blood relation (is that the way to put it?) of a past president from running for president. Maybe for governor, too, but I guess a federal amendment couldn’t cover that.
The way this is going, they’re going to beg Jeb Bush to run, and that is just utterly unacceptable. We do.NOT.have.dynasties.in.a.democracy!
how bad of an infection do ya have?
hi everyone… just wandering in from the garage – in the midst of a painting frenzy. Abso-effing-lutely gorgeous weather here in sunny southern cal… hit 80 degrees today.
i didn’t watch — i’ve not watched any of the gop’s pr strategizing marketed as a ‘debate’
My forefinger won’t bend, palm is swollen. Gonna ruin my sex life.
scarlet! ohmystars that sounds wonderful! how ya doing tonight?
Boy, I tell ya, I was ready for some Thursday Night Basset Blogging waaay before the debate was over. TBogg takes the best pictures of those doggies…I need my basset fix each week.
I’ve enjoyed the debates enormously! Best sit com on the teevee. I hope they go on and on. The thread Eli led tonight was a hoot and a half. But, yes, I am sad for America. Very disheartening.
Very well – just finished signhanging in San Diego yesterday, ending my west coast tour – signs bitching about economic disparity from LA to Seattle and Back down to San Diego… over a hundred in all.
Suze, don’t encourage ‘em!
Scarlet, I assume you were painting signs? I really admire what you do.
It’s one of my favorite hobbies.
I expect swelling to peak tomorrow or Saturday.
they are always spectacular — and show the personalities so well… i would much rather look at the bassets than the dogs on the gop stage
hey dearie — how ya doing tonight?
Symptoms are bad, a little levity isn’t.
I can laugh if I’m reading transcripts or quotes, but their voices (especially Newt, and Santorum, and well, Romney…oh, hell, all of ‘em) just annoy the hell out of me.
yikes… but then the pills kick in and you are back to life as it was
(how was that tejan)
Doing well…..except I can’t find a way to get to Bozeman MT from southern Cal for less than about $700….. talk about disheartening!
Just givin’ ya a hard time.
So good that we have relaxing threads here..I had a few debates today that required me to be logical and actually think…none of that required at LLN, tho’, right? ;)
Yes, signpainting. Quite addictive once you get into it… kind of a zen thing where there’s just enough attention required to do it, but not so much that your mind can’t wander. What a waste it was giving me all those coloring books when I was three. I’d be much better at it now.
It’s always more expensive to get somewhere in “flyover country” than to fly coast-to-coast. Depressing if you have family or friends in between that you’d like to visit. Or if you are the one in between.
Right, keep infection from spreading… antibiotics will let my immune system take care of localized infection pretty fast.
I need to go do PT exercises, then sleep.
Good night all.
that’s outrageous dearie…
Daughter in Bozeman…..and I want to go see her, but it’s ski season and the rates go way up. Very annoying. I can go see my sister across country for far less. And there is no direct flight, so stop overs can be either long and tedious or so short that one risks missing the next flight. I don’t like stress! And there’s no train. And it’s too far to drive.
Kayak keeps dropping tempters off to the right…..LAX to Hawaii for $350…. maybe I should have my daughter fly out from Bozeman and meet me there!
nice warm sunny tropical beaches with none of that montana snow:) ce is going to hawaii in march iirc
hiya Suzzzz, firegods
today’s la times had 3 nights in waikiki for two for $309 – large ad -somewhere in the front section i believe. your daughter would probably enjoy the change of weather.
Might be cheaper. LOL. Actually, rather sad, but too familiar. I remember when my best college friend and her husband were going to a family wedding, from NJ to CA, and thought they’d stop over to see me in OK. Would’ve doubled their cost to fly, so no visit.
Thank goodness my mother lives in a city served by a major east coast airport, so prices are usually pretty reasonable now.
hey ppd — how ya doing tonight?
hey that guy — all recovered from the cruise?
Thanks for the info. And, hey, thanks for what you do with the signs. You’ve been at this for how many years now? Great and good work!
Suz, mostly but I think I’m getting a cold – sore throat. Still needing sleep.
Super Bowl weekend we’re going to rent a cabin in the hills near Big Sur, avoid all the nonsense.
yuck — see what happens when ya get around a lotta people (/s)
and yay — that sounds wonderful! whatcha gonna bbq there?
Can’t believe you found a musical link for the superbowl…and so fast!
Think I’m heading off to bed. Nice visiting with y’all – good thoughts for all the sick and injured, may ye all heal quickly and easily.
*blowing smoke off fingers* thanks, i’ve gotten pretty fast on utube :)
I think it’s one co-worker who’s brought the plague to the cube farm.
Doing ribs and cajun hot link from Corralitos Market. You’ve had sausage from Corralitos, right?
First signs went up immediately after Bush V. Gore. Then the Bush years gave me PLENTY to paint signs about. If I’d just stuck with the original materials, wood, mostly, it wouldn’t have gone too far. But once I discovered cardboard… well, I found I could make fifty signs with the effort it used to take to make five. Also found out it’s not how you attach them – it’s where you attach them that keeps people from taking them down.
Okay, before I go any further into the art and science of guerrilla punditry, I’d better head back to the garage… peace and love and g’night y’all…
cube farms are the worst
and the corralitos market is the best! i used to stop there every time i went to a camp up eureka canyon road…. i did that several times a summer back in the day
i love that little store’s selections
One time I spent $200 at Corralitos for sausage. Hot link, cajun hot link, brats, you name it. I LOVE sausage and Corralitos makes the best.
Peace and encouragement to you!
i was living in the east bay at the time and always looked forward to camp and seeing all my friends and all the various selections we brought from the market… everyone stopped there before going up the hill
I might go there this weekend, we just got a small chest freezer, and there’s room in there for about 20# of sausage. ;)
wanted to thank Suz for linking the song ‘I hear them all’
I went looking for that song again and somehow kept finding something else.
So thanks! you sent me in the right direction and
it sent me off foraging dave rawlings/ gillian welch stuff which is fun
I’m okay here. hope everyone hears good news and feels better in time
one of the worst things about moving outta santa cruz county is no more shopping at corralitos market and no more ben lomond market
hey ks — good to see your fonts. how ya been? i’ve had the rock me mama like a south-bound train lyric running through my head lately
i’m good! paid the rent and most of the bills and got jobs to do even in the dead of winter. all good things!
was psyched to see the contest thing for the occupysuppliers
yay! yay! and yay!!!
isn’t that a great forking idea? jane sure has great vision and timing
i wiped my puter last night and a buddy came and loaded me up with ubuntu!
so I get used to that. not hard at all and feel better about the process. now if i can get my internets for free, I could pretend I was surfing off ‘the grid’!
if ya had solar panels, you could surf off the grid… just a different grid
ok peeps, i’m getting rummy — i think its time for me to head offline and get some sleep. i’ve got a lotta worrying to do tomorrow
thanks for letting me hang out with ya tonight — hope to see ya tomorrow for the muppets
yeah, Jane is a wiz!
so impressed also with all the work Kevin does and dday and Jon Walker too and scarecrow and …
and so many different occupy actions all over and so salient, topical
it’s still stunning to me how all of it has struck so many as so brand new… like they never thought all these issues were related and as the light goes on, when it does, the conversations do indeed change…
and thank you!
goodnight, Suz, and best wishes tomorrow……..
Uh-oh ya bailed already, just when I get back…! Sweet dreams, Suz
