Buffalo Springfield – For What It’s Worth
What’s on your mind tonite…?
Here we are floating through space as hubble deep investigates it!
CT! Love BS. Thanks!
Watching Austin City Limits — Arcade Fire. Great band.
Hola, CT, and LLN pups. Watching Iron Chef do tortillas and tequila. Fun. My daughter and I made mozzarella cheese yesterday…. just for fun. Delish!
i think tut said he would be a wee bit late since he is up on the mountain tonight peeps. he should be along shortly….
You’re safe for now, Suz……not near that 99 or 100…..breathe easy. “:)~
Hiya Suzanne! I just can’t imagine his life.
laughing — i only snag em when i’m hosting — never as a commenter
My little twin baby boys are all into boyhood these days…. the baby years go sooooo fast! We took them to visit their great-grandfather yesterday and they got into a tiff about who was going to ring the bell. One of them really decked the other. Their mother and I were shocked! My dad opened the door and both boys just acted like nothing happened. Crap! Funny, but also mind-boggling. They were wonderful from then on.
I don’t care what anyone says; Boys ARE different!
they are — i’m so glad i had two girls and jen had a daughter — girls i understand. i don’t have a clue about little boys
island life — you will get to see it in march!!!
Aloha ya’ll from Subaru…! ;-)
Rock And Roll Woman…
Aloha, bb…! It’s a gorgeous nite for star gazing here…! Albeit, cold as a witch’s tit…!
Aloha, Chris…! Glad ya liked it…!
Nor can I, M’dear…! ;-)
Mahalo, Suz…! You’re da bomb…! *g*
Aloha, Dearie…! Of course we are…! However, I must say that my girls were easier than my son…! ;-)
Wish I could see your sky.
I must leave, or I can’t work. Until tomorrow, everyone. Goodnight.
Here’s the ‘all sky cam…’ If you watch it you’ll see flashes of lightning that’s off to the west….!
Hi, everybody! Love this song. ’67, huh? My year…h.s. graduation. Can it be that long ago? Yes, yes it can.
Look at their hair…how clean and shiny and neat it is. Can you believe a boy in my high school was kicked out for having such “long hair?” I don’t think it was even quite that long. lol
Okay, enough with the old lady reminiscences.
How’s everybody? CTut, I find it hard to believe that it’s THAT cold anywhere in Hawaii. Cleveland, now, sure.
Sweet dreams, Chris…!
Catch Us If You Can…
Girls, for the most part, seem to want to get along and not be reprimanded or challenged by their parents…..boys seem not to be too concerned about the ‘challenging’ part. My girls were quite ‘independent’ and assertive, but I ‘got’ them…understood them. My son was a delightful exploration of a whole new way of thinking. All great kids.
Aloha, tj….! Would I lie to ya…? *g*
Hmm. Not having any kids of my own, I can only say that while I did want to be a “good kid”, I did plenty of challenging. And I don’t think my mom ever got me. We fought throughout my childhood, huge arguments. (I spent a lot of time ‘sent to my room’).
That was a big part of why I was terrified of becoming a parent.
The book salon’s are getting very good. And watch “Winner take all” a book by two men involved in Wall Street. Very informative. No matter what happens here on planet fear the universe is still awesome.
Oooh them Gretsch guitarssss……
Duelin’ Sneaky Pete and Rusty Young, Sunshine of Your Love (but not on Gretsches).
You Better Think Twice…
Oooh, pretty, mysterious pictures! Oh, wait, up there in the corner: 1 degree C. Sheesh, what’s that in American? (ducking) 36 or so?
Heck, we were colder than that two nights last week.
Is it 80-ish down at sea level?
Sorry, everything I know about HI comes from Magnum PI, and he always said it was Paradise.
Indeed, the book salons this weekend were great. We, at FDL, are so lucky to have BevW making this possible. Great stuff!
I came at it from a different perspective…..I felt certain that parenting could be done differently and better. My sibs and I refer to ourselves as feral children.
*heh* Greatminds and all, ondelette, that’s Rusty picking away with Poco….! ;-)
That’s not factoring in the wind chill factor, which is what really makes it cold because it slices and dices ya….!
They have been outstanding….! I asked Bev if she’d try and schedule Trita Parsi with his new book, A Single Roll of the Dice: Obama’s Diplomacy with Iran
She’s working on it…! ;-)
Heart Of The Night…
Gotcha. Love Poco.
To even up the Sneaky Pete side, a Graham Parsons Emmylou Harris Duet for ya.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iORZ1220mJw&feature=related Buddy Holly My love is bigger than a Cadillac! (Not fade away) pretty fun ny
Whew! That says a lot, doesn’t it?
It sounds like you succeeded in doing it differently. I certainly hoped to do it differently, but as it happened, it never happened.
And that’s okay, too. I could have tried to do it differently and failed miserably! There were times when I despaired…..like, oh, crap, that’s my mother talking through me! I threw a rage once, and my daughter just looked at me and said, “That’s not you; that’s your mother; cut it out.” Outta the mouths of babes, you know. I learned…………
Rose Of Cimarron…
Anthem for a generation or two.
Stevie Stills, Neil Young, Jim Messina, Richie Furay, Dewey Martin
One of the finest bands ever.
That legend, but also Kind Woman, Mr. Soul, Nowadays Clancy Can’t Even Sing, BlueBird (lord!), Broken Arrow, I Am A Child, and many others.
LeSigh, all that vinyl, which I have . . .
Nice catch, Suz, bless ya for sittin in . .. ;-)
Dave Clark Five, if it’s the song, I didn’t even cliky on it.
How ya doin hoss . . . *G*

My goodness that hour just flew by…! Time to suit up already…!
What a Day…
I’ll be back in an hour, if ya’ll are still around…! If not, I hope to see ya tomorrow nite when I’m back at sea level…! *g*
Aloha, Larue….! Glad ya like ‘em…! Time for me to head out again…! ;-)
Heh. I hear my mother sometimes, in various circumstances. Just what I was afraid of…well, aren’t we all?
Larue! Nice to see ya. I’ve been borrowing your “Le sigh.” Is it copyrighted? I always try to give you credit.
And now I think it’s definitely past time for me to go to sleep. As always, nice hanging out with you guys. G’nite!
Sneaky Pete would be Pete Kleinow, also known on album covers as Cornelious Flowers, Snea,y Pete . . . one of the best pedal steel players of his time, and a huge studio player in much demand for everyone back then.
Yeah, he’s a legend with a bar in one hand and finger picks in the other.
Heh, not bad, cornball some but great sangers and the backup includes Pete Kleinow, as far as I know . . . ;-)
DAng, that’s a mystery and I thot it was a Moby Grape tune the way it opened . . . GOT me! *G*
Never heard that one! Dang you kids . . . ;-)
Tejan, LeSigh is yours any time ya need ta use it.
I think it fits us all very well . . . it’s heartfelt, it is, LeSigh.
Thanks for sharing it, Larue. It’s been a decade+ of LeSigh….. and I don’t see much change in sight.
Steady as she goes like the Greek liner but over the falls….oh no not again.
Le Sigh G)
Yeah, well, as long as we got ourselves to LeSigh together with, it’s better for me . . . N I hope it’s better for you, yers, and all the others.
We share and sigh, together, as we trudge on, no?
Family, as it were and is . . . as I see it.
It matters, I think, that we have a crew to trudge on ahead with. Too many people feel like there is no base of support. Power in numbers. Occupy everything….and all. Care for everyone….and all.
I just love the organ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mb3iPP-tHdA Whiter Shade of Pale Procol Harum.

One of my favs of all time, I don’t even get this at fest jams, or local jams but I should . . . dang I love this tune.
Buffalo N Richie Lead Vocal.
It never got any better n this . . . 4 part harmony at times.

That’s still a killer tune, bb…! ;-)
We Are The Many….
But of course, bb…! ;-)
Not Ready To Make Nice…
Gotta go bounce on my trampoline for 40 minutes. Pretty awesome guitar on 72. Say Thanks to MLK tomorrow is a holiday! And a lot of freedom he did bring.
1963 Sam Cooke http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbO2_077ixs
I’ll be Occupying the Dream here in Hilo in honor of MLK, have fun on your trampoline, bb…! ;-)
Everybody look what’s going down, indeed. See this from Jonathan Turley:
10 reasons the U.S. is no longer the land of the free
From the lead-in to this column on his blog: If we are going to adopt Chinese legal principles, we should at least have the integrity to adopt one Chinese proverb: “The beginning of wisdom is to call things by their right names.”
(Column also published by the WaPo. See here.)
This song is so appropriate for these times. Thank you!
But no Gretsch White Falcon in this one. Great band, great talent, great humans, great song. Now I’m ready for Thunderclap Newman’s only hit.
That was truly excellent. Is there a good “Bad Weather” music video anywhere? Anyone who’s passing by, hit CTuttle’s link to Rose of Cimmeron.
Cold in Conn. today.
