Stevie Nicks — Gold Dust Woman, with Bob Welch, Mick Fleetwood, and Christine McVie, 1981.
What’s on your mind?
zed.
another drive by… PT is going well, finally getting some help for swelling in my calf. PT didn’t want to work on it for fear of DVT (clot), I got a note from doctor saying the two doppler ultrasounds make it OK to massage/release muscles. Swelling is down over the day since treatment and I’ve got PT again tomorrow.
Good evening, Suz and all the Lakers.
hey wmd — how ya doing tonight?
hey starbuck — how’s your side of the coast range?
Windy, cold.
And did I say windy?
from 1997′s the dance, rhiannon
I will put a quarter in before I go to bed and do my end of day exercises.
i just saw on the news that a buncha folks are without power due to trees going down in the wind… tis just cold here – 32 in tillamook
oh that’s sweet wmd — not heard that in ages.. thanks so very much
Hi Suz!
Nice vid, fun seeing Mick having a good time.
How goes?
I’m happy to no longer get the run around about treating my calf muscles and connective tissue. Massage was very painful, but worth it. Tomorrow I hope to get another painful session that really releases the tight muscles and ligaments and lets my lower leg move again. Will make a big difference in letting me strengthen the surgically insulted muscles.
So far so good. East County always gets hit, with Troutdale getting the worst of it. I’m probably 8 miles west of that burg.
hey newton — how ya doing tonight? they looked like they were having lotsa fun up there — and i was surprised to see stevie without a scarf anywhere in sight
it goes well — had a good webinar tonight.
it will make a huge difference. i had a knot in my quad from my tkr that a very skilled masseuse was able to release 3 years after the surgery. i was forking amazed at how much better my leg worked afterwards
On to bed, 4 sets of exercises and then sleep.
Wake to more exercises, stretching, work, PT, work, home, work…
I see surgeon again a week from tomorrow. Probably 3 PT sessions before then, and a lot more progress. No cane soon!
sounds like they come up stronger tonight than expected — hope they ease up soon
g’nite wmd — to no more cane!!!
Forking? reaaallly? Aren’t we due for Fuck thread?
Stevie was having a very hard time about 1981. I wouldn’t be surprised to see her on stage in clogs and a Nehru jacket :-)
Yeh webinar!
good night.
LMFAO — dood, we are always due for a fuck thread
2008 edge of 17
bob and mick and christine
Dang, have seen this vid Suz, nice catch.
Bob Welch, last great gunslinger for Mac before Lindsey and Stevie came aboard.
I’ve seen another Welch, Nicks get together, an LA concert outdoors, that was grand. On this she’s an octave lower or more from the album and earlier touring gigs.
I think I like her lower octave bettet!!
This is way kewl, I gotta admit. Mic!
Nice catch, how ya doin gal?
*G*
hey larue — how’s sac? check out the bob and mick and christine video.. i think its from the same gig, at the roxy per the utube
To hell with the thread part!
Aloha, Suz, and lln pups, from atop Mauna Kea again…! ;-)
DAng, this vid no longer available on youtube, How’d you get it?
I was gonna look for more info on the performance, and who were the musicians . . . dang. Fascists . . . RI/aa.
aloha tut — how’s paradise tonight? sorry i didn’t make it onto your threads this weekend — i was forking fried!
which video larue?
Welch is bald, by then, and he’s wearing a curly wig that he wears in the vid I recall from So Cal fest where he and Steevie get together again later on . . . wish I could find it, forget what they do, but I recall it was awesome.
Hey you – that diary of yours yesterday – the new Coq au Vin recipe – most excellent. The pigs foot is genius. I used dark-meat chicken and salt pork in my attempt in October, and still didn’t end up with the sauce consistency I wanted. This is a very good idea.
No problemos, Suz…! ;-)
It’s actually pretty decent up here tonite, it’s just above freezing with very little wind so far…! Down at sea level, the entire island was/is wrapped in rain clouds, for most of the day too…!
*sigh* alas, i am apparently just a consultant nowadays
how cool to be up above the rain — have you ever seen lightning in the clouds below ya?
A couple of times, it really is an awesome site when you see the ripple of the lighning, a few times it looked like it jumped from cloud to cloud…! It’s not stormy enough for it tonite…!
Lord, add Stevie to the older tune?
Welch, Christine, Mic, Stevie . . .
Not a bad effort, lord I love CHristine McVie, still.
This one gets me a tad, just a tad . . . ;-)
i bet it is forking awesome to watch dood.
songbird
That’s known to happen, but I’ve only seen it a few times in my life.
hey wigwam — how’s the inland empire tonight?
Hey, Suze! Dunno just why, but Gold Dust Woman is playing just fine tonght…just at teh end, no pauses, no buffering…just fine music plus video, all the way through.
Hmmmm. Cache clearing didn’t do it by itself, the speed test thingies might’ve helped, and I got some MS updates and installed them today, altho’ I thought they were all security. Maybe it needed all of them.
Love to test with the others linked, but I gotta gotta gotta get up tomorrow, so I’m off to bed. Had to say thanks for last night’s hints, though. Very nice getting a music video, especially, to play all the way through!
hey tejan — glad whatever it was is fixed — and that you were able to see the video without any starts and stops tonight. thanks for stopping by — twas my pleasure to help last night.
g’nite tejan
Yeh, love that one, but the one I have (gotta vid dive for it) I’m thinking about is day time in a HUGE LA concert.
Welch, as in yer vids, is wearing a wig, he’s gone fully bald by the mid 70′s. ;-)
I’ll go look for that SoCal show in my bookmarks, back soon I hope.
Ok. ’78.
Stevie Jumps In, Welch At His Best.
Your eyes got me . . .
you make loving fun
78… sweet…. thanks larue
Yer lead vid up above, it’s gone on youtube, yer cache must be carryin it, and well done it should!
Aloha, TJ, I think it was about nine updates that Microsoft had released today…!
my video up top is still there even after i cleared my cache…. here’s the link
is anyone else having trouble see the video up top?
No probs here…! It is a great clip…! ;-)
Hey you and yer own fine self!
Great to hear from ya!!!
The older version of this one alluz used an old rooster, hence the gamey side of life, and trying to make something back then out of old to make it royal.
Roostes, reduced red wine, and all the other stuff was the shiz!
Thru the years from 1800′s thru to today, this recipe has evolved.
The SF Gate link recipe to the restaurant I sourced, is just incredible, and I offered it as such. THe pigs foot is the end shizzz I must admit, but as others suggest, use hard bacon smoked all to hayall to get the gamey taste of old birds.
i’m greatly surprised you caught on to all that, and thrilled to hayall hoss!!!!
*G*
Works for me.
Hey Suzanne,
All’s well here — stunningly beautiful weather.
Minor local news: Etta James is out of hospital (but suffering terminal leukemia).
We’re still among the hardest hit in real-estate devaluation and unemployment.
thanks tut — i thought it was too :)
socal winters can be spectacularly beautiful — how sad and how sad wigwam.

hey barnburners — how ya doing tonight?
Fine, just fine . . . make me cry, sniff, jus make me cry, . . .
Keep off my pressure points, dammit . . . *sniff*
No I’m fine, I’m ok, I’m fine . . .
*snivels*

LeSigh I love that voice. Bless Her, CHristine Perfect.

I’m gonna bust out bawlin like a baby.
Yer killin me, bless yer lil heart.

*handing ya tissue*
Yeh, that one and another from same set kills me to this day, go check it out . . . N Bob’s bald! It’s a wig, ugl, too . . . . lol

Too kind, ma’am too kind.

Well, it’s time for me to head back outside again…! Aloha Oe if ya’ll head out…! *g*
mick’s blues band
aloha tut — stay warm dood
Heh, Yes’m . . .
I was adding up some fest years with an original pal gal, who got us iNTO the festing, back in ’99.
Tween her and our festing and my two dobro’s, a mando, a hammered dulcimer and camping out and festing since early ’01 or so?
We never had a better time . . . . n that goes for you too. gal.
Sometime, we all gotta go festing . . . n camping, with air beds n tents n comforts.
You’d go crazy at all the music. N food.
N that’s just the camps.
*G*
Hiya, pups.
Jut home from work. Another big snow storm is supposed to hit tonight, but hasn’t yet. We’re supposed to get another half foot in Wasilla, but other places could get as much as three feet.
If I could replicate the beauty of collagen without cooking something down, well, I would be renowned.
I also understand that besides more flavorful meat, an old rooster has a boatload of connective tissue. I know how to get at that tissue, and I thought using legs and thighs from free-range birds would help a lot.
Not so much. But the pigs foot – I mean, how much connective can you fit in one Dutch Oven? What a stroke of genius.
hey et — its been a rough winter in alaska from the reports i hear on the local news.
how ya doing tonight?
Still Killin Me.
;-)
One of my ever favs’ that might be the last time Danny Kirwin played with the band. Christine gets to it, with her full throated baritone voice. I sure miss her.
Spare Me A Little.
Her best, google up Spare Me A Little, for the band, there are many grand versions of htis.
Bless her and now, good night all y’all. ;-)
We have rain, maybe get a little snow. Very little. All is well.
g’nite larue
Doing fine. Was handed the baton of the Anchorage Civic Orchestra at the beginning of the week, when the director left. Just as I volunteered to head up Occupy Supply for fdl in AK.
Sorting it out. Thought I was going to be less busy from now until spring, but that may not end up being the case.
Yep, ya hit on it.
All that gel and such, just like in ossobucco . . .
*G*
Delighted you found smiles in it all, always enjoy your respodondits!
*G*
looks like we gotta chance of snow even here at the coast sun and mon — and 3 to 5 ft of powder is gonna fall in the cascades — the ski resorts are gonna be real happy
thankfully they are predicting the snow won’t stick here at the coast
congratulations et — i hope you figure out a way to do both. hopefully we find ya some help when making our MET calls
nite larue
tis about time for me to turn back into a pumpkin peeps. thank you for letting me hang out with ya tonight.
g’nite all
There’s a fellow who was at my high school reunion this fall, lawyer, lives in Anchorage. He was telling someone else how he enjoyed taking part in the McCain-Palin campaign. I thought man, what a small world.
Mick lives here on Maui and shows up at all kinds of “musical events” at local watering holes.
Ditto re Willie Nelson.
Funny that I come here so seldom lately due to circumstance, and I still feel so good just seeing all of you conversing and “being real”" .. Happy New Year to all .. may 2012 help straighten out this mess we find ourselves in ../s
Anybody still around…?
You fine folks make this 62 year old Coloradan feel joyous. Feels sweet to read kind, intelligent, and tolerant words……..good on you…..
hey mauimom — sorry i missed ya — wow, how forking kewl!
tearloch! so good to see your fonts – wish i wudda been here
old dude — thank you so very much for your kind words — i sure hope to see ya again — and next time i wanna be here and not snoozing when ya pop in
