Gingrich’s strategy is making a little more sense. If there is to be a not-Romney candidate, that candidate would be the one who is taking the fight to Romney, not sitting back being Mr. Nice Sociopath. The Spirit of the Not-Romney would prefer the host with the greatest capacity for vicious attacks.
The first three times, I tried to figure out how someone so freaking cool – and I mean that in a number of ways – gets that way. Surely there is a method, a school where they teach the method, and star pupils. I was unsuccessful.
The 4th, I walked around listening over my shoulder.
I’m no food photographer but I was just having a warm crusty heel. The actual baking got delayed with a call to perform some actual work for pay today.
Hey Suze! Love the all-Aretha theme tonight. Sadly, the main post piece won’t play for me. Shoop Shoop playing with pauses. Sigh. Next time I buy a puter I hope I can afford a faster one.
Chilly here (well, around 50 today and yesterday), but sunny today, which means the allergies are indeed in full bloom. Been sneezing so much I finally broke down and refilled the most powerful prescription med. Which is to say, the expensive one.
Whew – pharm had a poster about immunizations, so I asked about the shingles one. Not covered by the Walgreen’s discount card, so $220!! Oh well.
I assume you have plenty of wood for the stove? Pets indoors in the warm?
hey tejan — sunny is a good thing but dayam, that’s an expensive price to have to pay as a result. have ya tried clearing your cache to see if that helps the videos load better for ya?
token is snoozing at my feet. bailey cat is curled up in a chair on the other side of the room ignoring us. the wood stove is going and i’m picking up more wood tomorrow. this is just the start of a cold spell so i wanna make sure to stock up
May have misled ya – the allergy med only $47. The $220 is for shingles vaccine…which I did not go for. Just cross fingers and hope it holds off for awhile.
My yoga class was talking about people we knew who’ve had shingles, and how terrible it is, and I realized I’m in the age group for it now. I wonder if it’s covered under ACA? And if so, when it would kick in? I know some parts are in effect now, but not clear if I’m eligible for anything yet.
I’d think I have been rushing the sourdough rise. This sat all day under a damp towel, (was originally going to bake about 10 AM), and it did a slow rise in the glass loaf pans. Cooled enough to pop it out about an hour ago. Slight crunch of thick crust and this sour really jumps the tongue.
I was just getting back from studying abroad. Me and several women, Alice Tatum, MaryAnne Busey, Heather Carozza and Francene Reed were having afternoon cocktails at Chuy’s in Tempe.
Cause it was afternoon, and we could – after rehearsals.
Anyhow, that doc was playing across the street, and we all went for the hell of it. Afterwards, we all started talking about just letting go and “letting it all out” and the next couple weeks, Francene got picked up by Lyle Lovett.
Makes sense. It’s the same virus as chicken pox (or is it measles?), and that’s basically where the shingles comes from. So I spose it figures the shingles could return, too.
Something to look forward to.
Well, how’d I get this started? Actually had a fairly decent day and evening. Being out of the house for my meeting, I wasn’t able to watch the cable nets obssess about New Hampshire, and I see it came out about as expected. ; )
tis foggy in tillamook per the weather service so i bet the roads are slippery with freezing fog. tis a good night to stay inside and hunker down with some good tunes
Suze, no speed test lately; the connection is cable, but I think I have the slowest from my provider (cheapest). Not sure. Normally fairly fast but videos always stutter.
Think I’ll bookmark that test site and try it tomorrow…gasp! just looked at my watch! Thought it was still a little past midnight..and it’s about to be 2:00!!! Sheesh.
Lovely visiting with you. I’ve been talking food so much, I’m getting fancy food ads on the fdl page lately. *g*
Thanks for the tech reminders and advice, btw. I’m always forgetting to do stuff like clear cache.

Mostly a drive-by posting here, el doggo is already trying to get me to bed.

The 4th, I walked around listening over my shoulder.
Halllooo! It’s freakishly warm here.
Those are looks of people astounded and loving what they’re seeing/hearing. amiright? I’m looking for a documentary… brb

Oooh! Work for pay! Fantasy fulfilled! Lessee, are you the Mac guy? I can never keep track of who does what.
Ooh, nice-looking loaves! And nice kitty picture next to it.
oooooo that looks yummy dood!!!

Semi-structurally self-employed carpenter, CAD drafter, baker, dad, gardener, homemaker.
“semi-structurally?” A nod to the argument about the meaning of our stubborn unemployment rate?
I keep trying to figure out something I could do to be self-employed, but can’t figure out anything I do well enough. :(
I was at my lawyers and ex-lawyers support group tonight, which reminded me of why I don’t really wanna practice law again.
May have misled ya – the allergy med only $47. The $220 is for shingles vaccine…which I did not go for. Just cross fingers and hope it holds off for awhile.

*whew* i used to date a guy who had it and it would lay him low with a worse than migraine whole body ache that lasted several days.
its fucking outrageous that they would charge that much for something that prevents that much pain and suffering
*spitting* fuckers
betcha that long slow rise is what really brought out the sour….
Here’s that documentary I referenced. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyPWiBmJ3x4 And here’s the context:
I was just getting back from studying abroad. Me and several women, Alice Tatum, MaryAnne Busey, Heather Carozza and Francene Reed were having afternoon cocktails at Chuy’s in Tempe.
Cause it was afternoon, and we could – after rehearsals.

sitting in at the last minute for pavarotti
holy moly — i forking love francine reed
Eww! So….he got it more than once? My mother’s had it, but only once. Didn’t know it could come around multiple times. Sheesh. Ain’t aging fun?
francine
it lays latent in the system and then something will trigger it — and then whammo. at least that’s what he told me
Yes, a nod to the down economy. Survived several of these down periods, but this one is different, it’s a deliberate tear-down of the social fabric.
Makes sense. It’s the same virus as chicken pox (or is it measles?), and that’s basically where the shingles comes from. So I spose it figures the shingles could return, too.

Sorry, just back, and yes the extra time was the factor. I was taste testing again. Cream cheese spread full, now a sip of hot tea.
i think it is chicken pox.
i ignored new hampshire and i plan on doing the same for the next one — and i’m not even sure what the next one is — south carolina maybe?
le sigh — wish you could stuff a still warm slice with some of that cream cheese into the tubes for me :)
Shingles are related to the chicken pox virus, iirc.
with stevie wonder
heaven
Mmmmmm. Does sound good.
Here, I’m sending you some of the pumpkin bread I made yesterday instead…(if only). Came out pretty well…no pix, though.
