I get that impression too but since the election season’s gotten cranked up, the front pagers over there are engaged in a full court press to convince readers that Obama’s actually hunky AND dory. It’s expected as the site is of, by and for partisans where policy is secondary or even tertiary to affiliation. One has but to glance at shooter’s history for a bit of context on the comment @ 2 though.

I certainly question the inclusion of that issue at all. Were I arguing, I would hammer on the fact that anybody could have used that computer and you can’t prove it was Manning who did it. There are also differences between what Manning had and what Wiki distributed.

I would also hammer on selective prosecution, noting that others whos leaks were more convienent to ObamaLLP were not prosecuted.

And finally, I would note that US law states that classified data cannot be used to cover up a war crime.

And I might casually mention that the judges commander in chief had already declared publically that my client was guilty.

Dear Box: If Iraq reverts to a chaos-theory petrie dish, and Obama decides to go back in, or if he thinks that there’s political hay to be made by “doing” Iran, it’ll be interesting to see what the herring-draggers-for-Obama at places like Kos and Digby’s, do.
