i always felt better after i had seen either the video of the surgery or the still pictures — something about seeing everything where it is supposed to be right before closing reinforced that ‘its gonna work’ feeling

I wonder what kind of positioning they used while I was dislocated. bruises suggest some interesting retraction jigs, and I can kind of see it in a couple pics.

Wow, it kind of creeps me out to think you can see videos of your surgeries. I went through a stretch where I had surgery for unrelated events every 4 months, 7 surgeries. I’d have been a fucking basket case!
Except that I would’ve had evidence of the breast surgery when the cocky fuckin’ Boobman chose to not use the Ultra Sound wand because he had the tumor in his hand. Only he didn’t. And I didn’t know his explanation post surgery meant he’s fucking missed it. That surgery would have been caught on tape. I had more biopsy surgery and horrible stress 6 months later. Traveling to Seattle to get care.
So, there’s that.
I don’t know….maybe we should have a designated care person to review the videos.

So, huffington says only 49 million, so maybe what I heard is not right.

A cold, cloudless sky tonight, which means it’ll be down in the teens. Last few days have had terrible inversion in the valley.

Reporting in from Montgomery and Chester Counties, PA. No snow, no rain, but lovely. Parents old but lively. We had our first Christmas dinner tonight with my folks.

there is the ick factor but i found it fascinating to watch and have the doc explaining things and pointing out points of reference (bones, muscles etc)

it also made me feel better about the doc that did the surgery — its all on tape and that’s part of my medical record

i was discussing this with my landlady today. we were both shaking our heads about how fucked up things are and how people are hurting. we had both heard one in 3

same skies here but only 34

OK, we are now in the very serious stages of renting in Hilo in March… rental agent willing to have everything ready March 21.

I brought all my cookie recipes that I make every year to LM’s this weekend thinking I would get some baking done, but LM is not in good shape, and I think most of my day will be at the ER tomorrow. She has a bad infection in one of her toes, and it is taking a huge toll on her. I was not here last weekend, and things are not at all good.

My coworker Marsha and I have enough travel miles to fly from Cleveland to Hilo for $10.00. The rental is from “Home Away” website, and we have very few needs. We want to whale watch, eat from the market, and read on the beach.

*heh* We may be small, but, we’re certainly loud…! 8-)

Thanks, Suz. She has not been in this bad shape since a year ago in the summer. It is not good, but maybe it can be turned around. Her mental capacity is so low, it is jolting, and I think it is mostly from the toll the infection takes. Sigh. It just does not take much to go down at this point.

The holiday cards are hard this year. She seems like she can’t really recall any of the people who have sent cards, and some of them are like family. I am not quite ready to handle this stage.

Here is a question for people who have had surgery. I had knee surgery about 15 years ago. Now whenever I hear about someone’s surgery I feel the pain IN THAT KNEE! So, say you have surgery on your hand and you tell me about it, I’ll feel it in my knee. On your butt? I’ll feel it in my knee.
I don’t know what this is about, but I think it recent studies of the brain talk about mirror neurons for sympathetic pain.

Suz, there was a busted sewer line in the basement, a broken water line in the street, the water line in the bathroom blew out and was spewing like crazy. I learned how to sweat a pipe after that, only time I have done that, or maybe once since then. I think there was some kind of event with the kitchen faucet too, can’t recall specifically what that was. Anyway, it was a lot of stuff all at once.

She has a leak in her roof this week too, and I did not get over to check that out yet.

Thanks Suzanne. I appreciate it. I spent probably 12 hours working on it and another 12 thinking about the precursors to it. I want to write a letter to the US Attorney about an investigation that Darrell Issa requested on Zombie ACORN (NYCC).The investigation was started by the people at Fox News and was based on inaccurate information. I spent a lot of time asking those questions.

James O’Keefe destroyed ACORN with his lying video. Now Fox is trying to do the same with NYCC. I wanted to make the case to the US Attorney that Fox employees aren’t journalists because of their disregard of the facts. And when Issa uses a factually flawed report to start and investigation it can’t just be blown off. Those nonfactual stories have destroyed lives and there needs to be consequences for those actions.

This letter is me beginning to develop the case and bringing the concepts out to the people.

They really are good. THey are my Christmas present for my family.
It will be our first Christmas with out both our mom and dad and I wanted to make something from the heart for my siblings. When I was caring for my mom before she passed in May I cooked for the whole family and I really liked being able to do that. I really love them all and as painful as it was to see my mom die, it was also an good experience with my siblings. That to me was a real gift.

My sister could have that torch and a match. . .when I get done with LM’s care, it will be my job to take care of my sister whose well of disdain for me is deep, and she seriously will never find the bottom of it no matter how hard she tries. The New York Times story that I linked to and the Guardian stories about the phone hacking are really interesting and I’d love if the media people at both of those publications pick up the idea and ask the same questions.

Carr at the NY Times’ had a great story about the blogger who lost the case against the business man. It is really well though out. I have other areas I’m working, but the people who I hope will notice are the ones covering the hacking scandal. That is an area that clearly is not journalism, and it might just be the thing that can help crack Fox’s self-appointed role as “press”. Remember, it KILLED News of the World.

Yes, this is a very valid option. We need to rethink our definitions of life now that we are no longer a Modern Culture. There is no glory in big numbers on your tombstone.
