Cheech and Chong – Santa Claus and His Old Lady.
What’s on your mind?
stitches come out tomorrow. swelling is down a bit, ice on it now.
hey wmd — how’s your swelling tonight?
ha — just saw your edit
I stayed on my back a lot of today.
rest, ice, and purposeful movement all help push those excess fluids out. getting the stitches out tomorrow will be a huge help to healing
earache my eye
Cheech: “Nah, man, you don’t know who Santa Claus is, man…”
Chong: “I’m not from here man, like I’m from Pittsburgh, man.”
Love that, Suz!
hey newton — glad ya liked it :) how’s the west bay tonight?
WMD listen to THE Suz, ice, ice and more ice.
sister mary elephant
hey tuez — how ya doing tonight?
Great here. Cold and clear, a bit wet, about as much winter-like as we see in these parts.
How about your digs?
Christopher Hitchens, writer and Vanity Fair contributor, dies at 62
cloudy 45 outside – no rain today. weather dood today said it may be our driest dec in quite some time (forking weather teasers)
Dude has looked simply dreadful the last few times I have seen him.
will be good to get stitches out, check up by surgical team. Surgeon came by every day in hospital.
Suz, I gotta tell ya, I had one fab day. So great, in fact, late this afternoon I went to Home Depot and bought some Christmas decorations. Now, this wouldn’t be odd, except I haven’t put up Christmas decorations in 10 years.
Yes, getting those pricy teeth back in my mouth this morning helped my mood immensely.
yay and yay!!! i’ve not done christmas decorating since 2003 — what got ya over the hump?
That is so awesome – feeling like you can really participate, instead of so-so participate, is priceless. Isn’t it.
a midsummer’s nice dream
That there is the truth, in spades.
kelly! how’s denver dood?
I’ve been teetering on the brink of getting back into the Christmas spirit for a couple of years. That said, I’m only decorating the front porch because that is all my lazy ass is willing to clean up. Since I was able to get the uppers in this morning, and once I pulled that off, decided the puppy had to pay by taking her in for her 3 year rabies shot. Prior to going to the vet I made a chart of her seizure activity over the past 16 months, and the vet concluded that it is quite possible she just had “puppy” epilepsy and that shit is behind us too.
So I happy danced my way through the day.
It helps, too, that I managed to fix the computer’s issues to on Tuesday.
Just up for a moment – sorry it’s a drive by.
Smooches all around!
woohoo!!! that’s wonderful dog news!!!
Smooches to you Kelly.
*wow* R.I.P Christopher Hitchens…!
Christopher Hitchens dead at 62…
aloha tut — how’s paradise tonight?
Aloha, Suz and lln pups…! *g*
Hey Suz! The merriment and mayhem continue here in Oakland. We have livestream of OPD in police boats raiding our “Aquapy” homemade raft that is floating on Lake Merritt.
Mayor Quan probably ordered this because she got mic checked tonight at the Commonwealth Club.
hey carol — you safe?
meds kicking in is a good thing. g’nite wmd – fingers and toes crossed for a favorable report at the docs
Soggy, period…! 8-(
I’m hoping it’ll let up for Saturday’s kickoff of Occupy Hilo…! ;-)
Yes, I am safe, watching from home. Everyone there is laughing their asses off, it sounds like.
fingers and toes crossed for ya tut
how ya been? its been a while…
You’re a hypocrite. Home Depot? You’ve got to be kidding. I’m sick of FDL During the day you all post criticisms of obama and the democrats and then in the evening you all become yuppies. Fuck all of you.
What’s up with CA anyway? I’ve always thought it was a pretty cool place to live if you could afford it. Seems it’s not so friendly.
Great! Been busy occupying. How about you?
Here is what the police are up against tonight at Lake Merritt; can’t have this sort of flagrant civil disobedience, now can we.
disagree with the message but do not insult or attack the messenger. continuing to do so will result in your comments being moderated.
been making phone calls looking for folks for occupies who don’t have liasons yet.
Goodness, karenb, tell us what ya really think…!
Bev and John got in touch with me – I am trying to hook John up with OO supply. Apparently he’s already talked to Berkeley, where they still have a camp.
Slim pickin’s here on the Big Isle, eh Suz…?
sweet! i think berkeley is one of the ones on the list
That’s a really good question, tuezday. Our liberal values don’t seem to apply once you get in a position of power.
Yoo hoo asshole, Florida is not exactly known for its pine forests. If one wants a “real” wreath, one has to go where they are located. I suppose I could have ordered one from LL Bean, but as my husband is unemployed, I couldn’t afford it.
No matter where I go, I’d have to buy lights made in China.
I suppose I could have dipped my own candles, rather than using lights, so you’ve got me there.
We’d all prefer to buy locally but the reality of the situation is one can’t. That said, I’m willing to bet you don’t have any papayas, avocados, or oranges picked off trees from your own yard hanging out in your kitchen. So kiss my ass.
same warning tuez — no personal attacks
I’m willing to bet you don’t have any papayas, avocados, or oranges picked off trees from your own yard hanging out in your kitchen.
*heh* At least ‘Made in China’ is technically closer for moi, in the global chain…! ;-)
Can’t understand why others who are obviously into the tech age, don’t understand we are all connected to the vampire squid, whether we want to be or not.
now where were we before… oh yes… lets make a new dope deal
That made me smile :)
But you have Japan’s toxins to worry about :(
although the sons of butcher may be more appropriate…
i saw a scroll on the bottom of the news about how something from japan washed up about two weeks ago on the washington state coast… every storm i think that its bringing me radiation and now the surf too
OK, that’s my new ringtone.
hehehehe i forking love that song
I worry about you guys on the west coast, just as I worry about those of us on the Gulf coast (and those in areas with fracking, etc., etc, etc,). Nothing good can come from these disasters-except maybe universal health care cause no one else will cover such a large number of people. Course, by then, it’s too late.
i’m thinking of this for julianna but jen would never forgive me
i try to worry about only the things i have control over but am not always successful. jen was 8 months pregnant when the nukes blew — i worry more about her and julianna than i do me but there are times when i fuss and fret and have to talk myself down
Buy it but don’t give it to her until she is 20, or whenever you deem it appropriate. I think she would get a kick out of it.
I worry most for the kids, not so much for me.
Actually, Ya’ll are getting the bulk of the Fukushima fallout, in all forms, long before we do here… Japan is situated well north of the Isles, and all the weather patterns, be it tidal or wind currents it all hits Alaska, BC, WA, OR, and even Cali, before it cycles on over here…!
jen had a cow when i said i was going to teach jujube to say fork
she didn’t appreciate my pauses at all and rolled her eyes at me
That’s what I mean, buy it for Julianna now, wrap it, and give it to her later, much later, when you can all see the humor in it.
jen’s chain is so easy to yank *laughing*
At least I left behind a few paragraphs of retort.
It’s late on the right coast.
g’nite tuez — hope tomorrow is even better than today
And for you too.
Get Julianna what ever you want. Grandma’s have that right.
Wow, the Martin Landau ‘Fuck You’ from Ed Wood was a surprise!
there are some great ones in there — many i had forgotten
The Jack Lemmon from Glengarry Glen Ross – excellent.
The second Pacino from Glengarry Glen Ross – awesome. Perhaps the best ever.
i’ve got it bookmarked in my utube favorites — tis a keeper
i’m turning into a yawn machine early tonight peeps. thanks for letting me hang out with ya and i hope to see ya tomorrow night for muppets
i’m scramming too
Aloha, ya’ll…! Sweet dreams…! *g*
Hey, Suzanne. Coming too late to catch you. But……….know you’ll check in over coffee……..
maybe you could buy Jujube a ticket to a roller coaster or big slide. ? Isn’t it about time to stap her on your chest and go for the Total Cool?
*heh* My only regrets are that there’s no cool rides nearby to take my munchkin on…! ;-)
But Tut, don’t YOU have oranges, papayas & avocados picked from YOUR own trees?
I actually do.
If stupid Hawaii agriculture regs didn’t prevent me from mailing ‘em, I’d send some out to all the Pups.
Ponies, ponies, ponies…nothing prepares children for real life like being on a bolting with their parents running behind…way behind, yelling “Ride It Out!!!” “Jump off, don’t FALL off”.
On the cool side, there’s nothing like taking ponies on a nature walk, even if the kids are walking and riding on parents/grandparents backs in backpacks, instead of “riding the ponies”. Cost the same.
Unfortunately, I don’t even have a yard these days…! But, I know where to harvest some ‘free’ produce if need be…! ;-)
I think your community of high rise buildings will begin to re-think their rooftop space some day. maybe.
It would be an incredible gardening opportunity….fucking rooftop sunlight in Hawaii. I salivate thinking about what I would grow.
I’m such an optimist, verbally…… I actually think your community council/covenant keepers would freak out at the thought.
Good night all. Sweet dreams.
*laughing* i did that with jen, her mom, when she was 6 weeks old. i strapped her to my chest in her carrier and we hit great america’s roller coasters
