Home Sunday night, and dinner with friends here. Total days away: 5 with two driving. We we be at home for Christmas. “Warhorse” Christmas night is on the docket.
sweet! i’m gonna have to get off my duff and find time to spend an entire afternoon checking out what’s available in town — and i spose i should do the christmas cards too
I’m not a happy camper today, I’ve had connectivity issues and even my computer gave me issues all day, today…! I had hoped to have my diary on yesterday’s Port protest and the General Assembly already posted, but, it’ll have to wait til tomorrow nite…! 8-(
maybe you should let the forkers in that white van parked on your tubes that you are gonna make them some special brownies if they don’t move it — and moving it is exactly what the special ingredient does — exlax
*heh* No Doubt…! What really ticked me off, besides the sh*tty connection was when my keyboard froze up on me while I was trying to fill out the delivery report, and by the time I got it unfroze, I had to catch my bus to head up here…!
You’re welcome. Remember how the kids built forts out of boxes and sheets over the furniture? My girls remember this far more than expensive gifts. I hope your daughter has saved all of her baby clothes. A new stuffed animal becomes all dress-up when she’s three.
It’s peculiar that Lowes didn’t see this trainwreck coming.
You would think that their legal and PR departments are staffed by former Congressional Democrats.
tis fodder for the late night comedians but no one else seems to be seriously looking at what these gop fuckers really are proposing… not a lick of that in corporate media
Why would you assume Lowes’ staff would be democrats? I did too, but only because Home Depot’s CEO types are such rabid right-wingers. I wrote Lowes today and asked them to check my purchases for the last five years and told them it was over if they didn’t apologize.
If it weren’t for the fact that we know they won’t go there because their access will get limited, I wouldn’t blame them for being fatigued by the sheer mountains of detritus the Right Wing has shoveled the last 30 years.
One of my daughter’s favorite “toys” when she was a wee baby was a metal band-aid box. She loved to twitch the top back & forth.
We also do a lot of “story-writing” presents in our family. I ask my kids to write up “something I don’t know” about them: a memory they have, an adventure they’ve taken. Then we read them to each other.
When the kids were babies, I kept a “journal” on each one, filled with funny things they’d said or done. They now LOVE those things and demand to read them whenever we get together.
This is my long way of saying maybe you would write-up something for the JuJuBee: how you felt when you first saw her [either sonogram or "for real"]; firsts of hers you remember; tales from your own childhood or your daughter’s. You could do all of this without having to leave the warmth of your home, and no crowds to fight.
i think its the geminoids or something….. best seen in your local area after 10pm with a building or tree blocking the moon to darken the sky and look opposite the moon
Have to see how much of the weather makes it over the volcano.
When they say “10 pm,” I assume they’re referring to Eastern Time. That would be 5 pm here, when it’s not yet dark. So I’m wondering if they mean 10 pm here as well?
I’ve got to take the pups out for their last “relief,” so I’ll look up at the sky while I’m out there.
Thanks for all the info. I didn’t even know about the meteor showers.
That’s a comfortable elevation to be at, you’ll always be at least 5 degrees cooler than Kahalui, yet, too low to experience the frigid temps at the top…!
zed
I end the day pretty swollen. Saw my pictures from surgery on a bigger screen. Serious meat got cut and retracted.
wmd! how ya feeling dood?
Hi Suzanne! Just packing for the trek east. Not taking my laptop as connectivity is a bitch. Hey everyone, see you next week.
hey ce — have a wonderful time! do ya return before or after xmas?
That is hilarious, Suz…! ;-)
Aloha, Suz and lln pups, from Subaru Observatory…!
aloha tut — glad ya liked it :) how’s the summit tonight?
Home Sunday night, and dinner with friends here. Total days away: 5 with two driving. We we be at home for Christmas. “Warhorse” Christmas night is on the docket.
I’m feeling swollen and in pain. Moving about a lot every day… finaly got good movement in my guts this morning, which let me take more meds.
Cold (-1 Celsius) and foggy… They can’t even open the dome because of the high humidity…! Looks like easy money tonite…!
I think yesterday is low point, from here on I’ll be sore, but also stronger and more flexible daily.
yay!!!
ice is your friend wmd — it will help with the swelling and the pain — tis good news that everything else is working post-anesthesia
Oh dear. What kind of surgery?
*brrrr* and *ka-ching*
yay! tis a good feeling when ya now the worst is behind ya
I wish ya a speedy, pain-free recovery, wmd…! *g*
Have a great time. Assume you’re seeing your daughter?
hey loohoo — how’s socal tonight?
No fun picking on the Romney
douchebagsoffspring…Okay, I confess, it is.
Suz!
It’s all good. Gotta go home soon, I suppose!
hey newton — glad ya liked it :) how’s the bay area tonight?
Birmingham hip resurfacing. I got some good pics, just saw on big screen today. They cut through big muscles…
Hi Newtonusr! How’s the coast, Suz?
hard to believe that christmas is less than 2 weeks away — i still haven’t done a lick of shopping
warming up — big wet storm headed here by morning. so far its been the coldest december in 20 years and its only the 13th …
pain free isn’t going to happen for a while.
That’s new to me. Is it in the replacement family??
My dad and brothers and I all decided to quit with the gifts about 4 years ago. What freedom! Now it’s just the girls…pajamas, earrings and $.
The drinks I have stored on the concrete floor in the garage? Exactly the same temperature as the ones in the fridge. We’re chilly, but excellent.
How about you?
Hey Loo!
i’m flunking grandmahood big time — julianna’s first christmas and i’ve not gotten her a thing
The ball and socket are metal implants. INFO
tis 34 in tillamook and a balmy 40 here
Nor have I, Suz…! Tonite’s paycheck I’ll be using to buy the Better Half her Xmas gifts with…!(a decent digital camera and a nice watch)
sweet! i’m gonna have to get off my duff and find time to spend an entire afternoon checking out what’s available in town — and i spose i should do the christmas cards too
more patent
I’m going to sleep soon. Will start icing tomorrow, good idea Suz.
20 min on and then 20 min off
g’nite wmd
Best of luck and pleasant dreams, wmd…!
the way you make me shake
I’m not a happy camper today, I’ve had connectivity issues and even my computer gave me issues all day, today…! I had hoped to have my diary on yesterday’s Port protest and the General Assembly already posted, but, it’ll have to wait til tomorrow nite…! 8-(

Get a set of blocks and wrap each one individually! Put them all in a big box she can crawl in and she’ll be happy.
The standard-issue ‘special’ brownies in Hawaii are, I suspect, a bit more hospitable.
that’s a great idea loohoo — thanks!!!
well i figure if the forkers are expecting special hawaiian brownies they should be more hospitable themselves and move that forking van
*heh* No Doubt…! What really ticked me off, besides the sh*tty connection was when my keyboard froze up on me while I was trying to fill out the delivery report, and by the time I got it unfroze, I had to catch my bus to head up here…!
Bookmarked. Thanks!
Look forward to it! A camera AND a watch?!
forkers *spitting*
The camera is the main focus, since she’s dying to take still shots of the munchkin, but, her watch had died recently too…!
You’re welcome. Remember how the kids built forts out of boxes and sheets over the furniture? My girls remember this far more than expensive gifts. I hope your daughter has saved all of her baby clothes. A new stuffed animal becomes all dress-up when she’s three.
You’re a good husband. Good for you!
i’ll pass that one on too loohoo — thanks.
Then, when she’s about seven, buy cheap fabric, felt, thread, ric-rac, sequins etc. and she can sew her own clothes for the stuffed animals. Good fun!
that jon stewart segment on lowes pulling their ad from the american muslin show did not disappoint :)
gonna have to see where she goes — my first daughter (her mom) loved her baby dolls whereas stephanie thought dolls were stupid
What is ric-rac…?
It’s peculiar that Lowes didn’t see this trainwreck coming.
You would think that their legal and PR departments are staffed by former Congressional Democrats.
a decoration one sews on fabric that is sorta zigzaggy looking
gingrich’s child labor is getting the stewart treatment too
i can’t believe lowe’s didn’t see it either – i think they thought they would be praised
Mahalo, Suz…! Had never heard that phrase before…! ;-)
CT, did you see the eclipse the other morning? We did; it was phenomenal.
my pleasure — i like wiki’s description better than mine
Chryssa hated dolls, as did I, but loved her animals. We’ll see.
I didn’t catch it at it’s zenith, but, I did see much of the waning phase…! ;-) How’s Maui tonite…? Socked in like the Big Isle…?
hey mauimom — how’s your island tonight?
isn’t there a meteor shower tonight?
Yes Newt, ‘we’ need to offer Black folks alternatives to becoming pimps and prostitutes… Cleaning up after people’s excrement is a handy option.
Could it be that Newt has no idea how these remarks play, and what TeamObama™ is going to do with them, should he be nominated?
This President is egregiously undeserving of the political largess he is being handed.
tis fodder for the late night comedians but no one else seems to be seriously looking at what these gop fuckers really are proposing… not a lick of that in corporate media
it used to be that when the late night comedians were making jokes about ya, your political career was in serious danger of being toast.
nowadays, they seem to be the only ones connecting the dots and what was once scandalous is now required as teddy’s post pointed out today
love this lunar eclipse photo from apod

Just a thought.
The “socking in” has passed over and it’s fairly clear now. But cold [for us, Mainlanders. It's probably 65 degrees.]
*heh* D’uh…! ;-)
I’m inside watching trash television and chatting with you guys, so I don’t know.
aw that’s a wonderful idea mauimom
Even up here at the Summit we’ve got pea soup fog and clouds…!
i think its the geminoids or something….. best seen in your local area after 10pm with a building or tree blocking the moon to darken the sky and look opposite the moon
Don’t need to expend much in the way of $$$ either.
i’m clouded in too
Well hey, it’s only 9:39 here, so as soon as Unforgettable is over, I can go outside.
I’m W-A-Y out in the country, and there’s not a light for miles.
It’s wonderful for star-gazing.
tonight’s the peak night
same here but its too forking cold to do much of it
I was looking at the Satellite imagery, and you’re looking at some serious storms headed your way too…
OK, fair enough!
Have to see how much of the weather makes it over the volcano.

Thanks for all the info. I didn’t even know about the meteor showers.
yup — supposed to be a very wet one here on the coast — mts are looking forward to the snow at the ski resorts
The entire Big Isle was under a Flash Flood watch all day…! What’s your elevation ‘upcountry’…?
We’re at 2500 feet. About 1/4 of the way up.
tis about time for me to head out peeps. thank you for letting me hang out with ya tonight.
g’nite all
That’s a comfortable elevation to be at, you’ll always be at least 5 degrees cooler than Kahalui, yet, too low to experience the frigid temps at the top…!
A really valuable idea.
Sweet dreams, Suz…!
Palm Springs doesn’t allow street lights for the same reason. I do see Christmas lights, though, on the main drag.
