The groups working to pass an anti-gay marriage constitutional amendment in North Carolina include the Christian Action League, Return American and the North Carolina Family Policy Council all citing religion as the reason for fomenting anti-gay bigotry in my state.

With Greece knuckling under to the European financial “troika,” the pressure is now on Italy to impose austerity on itself, just as Greece did. Italy’s borrowing costs are now much higher than Germany’s and may be unsustainable. There are calls for Italy’s Berlusconi to resign, and a confidence vote focused on the austerity package may occur soon.

The latest poll from Ohio is that SB5, the anti-labor law that stripped worker rights passed by Ohio Republican Governor Kasich and the GOP legislature, will be repealed by voter initiative tomorrow. The poll shows a solid 59 percent opposed to the law and only 36 percent in favor of keeping it, despite tons of corporate and conservative money and ads.
