Sen. Lindsey Graham openly threatened the National Labor Relations Board before they filed a complaint against Boeing for illegally moving their plant from Washington state to South Carolina, according to notes taken by the NLRB’s general counsel, Lafe Solomon.

How Many Times Can Herman Cain Jump the Shark; Plus Perry’s Major Malfunction |
| By: Pam Spaulding Thursday November 10, 2011 7:06 am |
I don’t know what it will take for Herman Cain to realize that his ride in the 2012 GOP Clown Car is over, but I’m guessing that the numerous accusations from women that he sexually harassed/assaulted aren’t doing the trick. After a bold, insane statement like this, I’m sure of it (via TPM): “Herman Cain: For Every Person Who Says I Harassed Them, There Are ‘Thousands’ Who Say I Didn’t.”
Rep. Walsh’s Rant Pathetic, and Also Indicative of Washington’s No-Accountability Policy |
| By: David Dayen Thursday November 10, 2011 6:06 am |
It’s almost not even worth getting to Walsh’s core charge, that the government forced banks to lend to people who couldn’t pay them back. I suppose the government forced banks to slice up those loans into securities and then either lose the paperwork or fail to honor the procedures demanded by the pooling and servicing agreements. Or the government forced banks to sell the securities to investors without telling them they were taking the other side of the bet against the securities. Or that they knew about the irregularities with the loans, and received them at a discount from the originators, without passing on the information to investors who thought the loans were highly rated and perfectly legitimate. And on and on.

It’s interesting to go back and read someone like John D. MacDonald‘s Travis McGee series these days. Here I am, 45 years later, quoting his words from 1965 decrying the state of the environment. The biggest disconnect is when I read him complaining about the world population being overburdened at 4B when we recently passed 7B.

The Washington Post’s Omblogger wonders if a reporter tweeting about a vile post about feeding Palestinians to sharks, among other things has crossed the line. Ya think?

On a beautiful sunny day, I arrive at Occupy Des Moines in Iowa [@OccupyDSM on Twitter]. The encampment is in Stewart Square, a few blocks away from the state capitol. Tents are setup in the middle of the park. There are signs alongside the street urging people who drive by to visit the occupation.
