I don’t want to hear another word about ‘shared sacrifice.’ Obama and most of the mainstream political pundits have been chanting that phrase relentlessly as they try to spread the misery around to all of us. The economic predicament that we are in is entirely the fault of our failed democratic institutions and the economic elites who control said institutions. All of our woes originate at the top of the economic pyramid and trickle down from there.

We’re not in trouble because the librarian or the janitor or the plumber or the cop or the fireman or the factory worker failed to show up and do their job; we’re up the creek because of malfeasance, incompetence, and corruption in the financial sector, the mortgage industry, the corporate media, and the halls of Congress. None of the problems we face originate at the bottom of the economic ladder– it can all be laid at the feet of those who have an iron grip on the levers of political and economic power. Fixing this mess is going to be painful, and all the pain should be felt by those who are responsible for getting us into this position in the first place. Go, OWS!

Rainy and warm for the end of November. We had our windows open for cry’in out loud! FYI I’m boozing the fruitcake about every two nights. Looks like it will travel to PA December 15 when we go east to see the elders.

Best movie I’ve seen in years. 4 hankie, and that face of George Clooney will win Oscar. Basically this film covers every horrible thing in life that we ALL deal with: death, adultery, parents, dementia, teenage problems, workaholics, love, weeping and family. Oh, and avarice.

spent the day visiting my oldest daughter and granddaughter — she’s almost 8 months, weighs 18 1/2 lbs and is starting to crawl and scoot and is cute as cute can be.

They can cut out that “entitlement” crap too. We paid our dues in SS and for the pensions that we have. Take the cap off SS and that becomes a dead issue.

Seems to me, the #OWS movement sets a titanic battle. It’s not just about tents in an urban park or plaza. #OWS is basically calling the current political system corrupt. The establishment which owns the political system will meet such defiance with brutal force, as we’ve seen, and it will get worse. It’s is ultimately a fight over the ‘sovereign power’ of the nation. Which means, if #OWS does manage to survive, this conflict will come to a head.

Always a pleasure to see yours as well Suz, always makes me smile.

And that baby story makes me want to hug one soooo badly.

LOL, my only son may never make me a grandpa, not sure that’s all bad though.

Anyway, really good to “see” you again, though I’ll confess to lurking a lot and seeing you anyway. And back to lurking I’ll go for now, you take good care of that baby, and spoil her rotten, that’s a grandparent’s Dog given right!!!
