Robert Earl Keen — Merry Christmas From The Family.
What’s on your mind?
Suz!!!
nahant! how’s deadwood city tonight?
Great stuff, Suz!
How’s your Friday?
Hey! Lost service last night, so hello all!
Oh, the holidaze and the fami-lee. Heaven help us all!
hey newton — glad ya liked it — i’ve kicked off the non-traditional christmas season at the lake with that tune for a couple years now.
how was your day?
ce! oh noz! so glad you are back online. how’s cleveland tonight?
bg! how was your day?
Chillin quickly… But I sure you are much cooler up north… T day was great lots of food and family till late in the evening…
dare i ask what happened late in the evening?
Huge day.
Jumped on the freeway at 8am and went North and South, never once encountered traffic. It was like Christmas morning – deadsville. Worked unimpeded the whole time.
Of course, had I ventured into the shopping districts…
Shit, I worked a lotta holi=daze in a bar, and I know the fami-lee is a tough one for lots of people. Often takes a desperate recovery period, which may explain the need for all those tampons. . .
omg — dood its gotta be your lucky day — didja pick up a lotto tix while you were out?
and the bloody marys
’cause we all want one
Worked all day, then left while the sun was setting. Really beautiful! We are watching the movie “Dan in Real Life” . so funny, but disturbing. Teen love!
Better than a lotto ticket – I got fantastic potatoes for the turkey soup :-)
Eggs-actly!
I’m proud to say that I didn’t spend a cent today…! ;-)
Aloha, Suz and lln pups…!
cold weather sunsets are so forking beautiful… they really outdo the summer ones – at least up here
aloha tut — how’s paradise today? the only pennies i spent was in the grocery store which had hardly anyone in it :)
Lots of ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZs after all the good food and lots of drinks… Too dam tired after the company left to do much of anything but crash and burn….. Of course made sure the wood burner was filled!!
The wind is a howling big time tonight, LM’s house is a rock, so it is not so noticeable inside, but I can hear it. This morning there was an incredible fog, I went down to the bank, and I could hardly see to drive. That went away soon enough, and I probably should look outside to see if there is snow blowing around. I heard we had some snow today, but I did not see any.
a new thing i noticed when watching this video tonight is when they are singing feliz navidad, they all have a moustache on that matches the boyfriend’s
i love it when i notice new stuff in an old familiar video
rut roh
They are, and I love sunsets! Off to sleep and see you this weekend!
I did not spend a cent today either!
dang bg — that’s a lotta different weather all in one day
g’nite ce
It was overcast all day, tho not much rain either, it was a Black Day here indeed…! The Better Half said, as she was ringing bells this morning, that the malls were packed to the brim here…!
Did you see the photo shop of Sgt. Pepperspray as a Macy’s balloon? That was about the best yet.
Black Friday was hellish today, it seems. What the hell is going on with all this? Everyone has a license for pepper spray, heaven help us!
i’m not that surprised that we are seeing non-cops using pepper spray — they see the cops using it against folks who are not doing anything wrong except for not doing what the cops want them to do and i can see how they think that it is ok for them to spray someone who is doing or not doing contrary to the sprayers wishes.
Eggs-actly, again, Suz. This is how it “trickles down.”
yup… and yet the corporate media doesn’t have a fucking clue
We’re definitely Sliding down that Slippery Slope…! 8-(
I’ve often thought this is how we get to the point where we’re not a civil society anymore. The rule of law has been corrupted and broken, and the rot spreads downward.
when those in power are not held accountable and people see that, they start to think they can get away with stuff too. tis human nature – that everyone else is doing it (or getting away with it) attitude
hey margot — how ya doing tonight?
I have my court appearance on Monday, pleading “not guilty” on the criminal trespass charge.
That is what they charged for refusing to move, for those who did not hear about it.
how soon after entering pleas are the trial dates? are the others you were arrested with also pleading not guilty monday?
Good thanks. You hear about our local craigslist killer? (I’m full of bright cheer tonight…)
Everyone is pleading NG, the court dates have been all over the map, lots of different judges. My understanding is that there is some effort going into getting us all in one courtroom with a sympathetic judge and have all the charges dropped. but I have not talked to a lawyer at all. In my case, my pleading is in front of someone I know. I am not concerned about my plea, just that I might forget to go to court. I don’t remember what time it is, but of course I have the paperwork at home.
Hey, bg. Has anyone appeared yet? They might just dismiss the charges at court.
Or maybe if you all demand trials…it surely wouldn’t be worth it to the county.
Well, here I am dispensing advice from afar…do you all have local lawyers?
How was everyone’s Thanksgiving? Mine was cool; had fun cooking whatever I wanted for a change.
And I fell asleep afterward just like always.
no! i had not. ohmystars
Er, never mind. Seems you answered all my questions.
i hope you all do get grouped into a sympathetic judge… DO NOT forget to go to court — take it from me, the judges really don’t like that
hey tejan — how ya doing tonight?
I believe someone did demand a jury trial. I don’t think there have been any appearances after the initial plea. One of the women forgot to go to court, and I think she has a bad judge, there is a bench warrant now I imagine. I am going to try to help her on Monday, in case she needs money for the warrant. . .hoping it will not be a big deal.
What Suze said. If you can’t find the paperwork, just show up about 8:30 or 9:00. Or look up your court system online and see what starting time is. Better to be early and have to wait thean to get a bench warrant sent out on ya.
Hey, how goes it with the cats?
call the local jail and find out if they have a deal if she turns herself in by x time, she can make a court appearance the same day
our city jail had that courtesy for folks who were self-surrendering — and it always looks good to self surrender
Cripes. You can usually find out from the clerk’s office or the sheriff’s office whether there is a bench warrant.
But it’s usually not too hard to get it withdrawn if you contact the court (the judge usually has a clerk, coordinator, or whatever who handles his/her docket) and arrange another date to appear. Of course, she might be told “Show up as soon as you can get here.”
If she has a lawyer, the lawyer can do that for her.
No NLG lawyers helping out your Occupy?
Poor thing, she is working all day, trying to pay bills, forgot the court and now has more to pay, shite, it is a racket once they get you into it.
i like tejan’s idea of self-surrendering to the court
most courts/jails have an unofficial policy for handling those who honestly forgot their court date and are trying to fix there error…
yes, we have lawyers helping, and thanks for all the good advise for the young woman, poor thing is barely 20. I will get with a lawyer one of these days, just don’t think I need it on Monday. Like I said, the judge is someone I know, and I am sure she will just shuffle to papers to the next place.
Well Pups time ta hit the hay… Hope all have a great evening!!
Suze, I’m good. Keep getting strung along for various job possibilities, but that’s a lot more activity than there has been for months, so guess it’s good.
bgrothus, the cats are good, except for that rogue, Smokey, who has greeted me with some new pee attack on furniture every morning, and sometimes evening, too. Have been scrubbing, and have candles burning now to try to remove nasty scent. Sigh.
He’s been a royal pain.
I’ve been staying offline, partly for a holiday from nasty political news, partly ’cause my wrists have been painful. Reading, cooking, going to museum, etc. Been very nice.
I hope to hear from her tomorrow, and I will give the all the good info you all provided here. She may be able to talk to one of the lawyers before Monday. I am sure the courts were closed today. I think her date was just the other day, earlier this week.
g’nite nahant
I believe that was your idea, too, Ms Suzanne. Your advice is at least as good as mine.
Rules are different everywhere, of course. But like you said, most (emphasis on MOST) judges will work something out for someone with no record who made an honest mistake. Besides, jails are crowded these days.
bgrothus, are you going to court in Albuquerque? Someone I worked with in OK years ago is, I think, practicing in Tucson, but that won’t help much. He may well be an NLG member. Can’t remember his last name, now that I try.
Is there an Occupy Tucson?
Contempt of Court charges are often more serious than the underlying charges…! 8-(
You have to take care of yourself or you will be no help to anyone. . .take care.
I think I gotta hit the hay too. Everyone have a Merry Night, we got a good family here!
Thanks for taking such good care of us all, Suz!
no idea at all why he is doing it?
the lawyer will know the local court and know the best way for her to handle it. please let me know how it turns out, both for her and you
well, i suggested turning herself into the jail and you said directly to the court — i would rather she not have to be jailed pending her court date so i liked your idea better ma’am
:)
g’nite bg
yes, we will hook up with some good legal advise before Monday. I know a lot of lawyers and judges. . .not that it will get me anywhere special, but I am sure it does not hurt.
Nighters, everyone. Occupy Everywhere!
Yeah, likely because of two ferals I feed. One is an intact male, and he’s becoming fond of me, and hanging around more, where he used to just eat and run.
He spent the night close to the sliding doors on our coldest night, and I think that was when Smokey flipped out. He’s been doing it off and on since his older brother Patchy died in Jan., but had quit for awhile. Now it’s almost constant.
I’m scared the landlord will need to come in, and freak out. Not that I’m pleased with the smell myself. Got to do some more scrubbing tomorrow. Sigh.
It’s warm enough to keep windows open, thank goodness. Cold front coming, though.
Tomorrow I go to buy a laaarrge box of baking soda; it seems to help.
a bowl of vinegar set out helps with odors too. steph spent a full two days last week getting cat urine out of her roommates bed and bedding — oliver was upset about something and did a real number on the bed. she ended up resorting to the old fashioned baking soda and vinegar treatment
Ah, I missed that detail! Hah. Should read more carefully, even LLN.
I’m sure bg will be fine; having a judge who knows her will help; s/he will know she’s no criminal likely to commit crimes if treated gently.
And now, I’d better get off the ‘puter. The poor thing is literally falling apart…gotta get it to somebody to put back together before true disaster strikes. Kinda afraid to stay on it for long.
Goodnight everybody, take care of yourselves and loved ones.
hope your wrists feel better
g’nite tejan
Ahh…thanks. I’ve been scrubbing down the cedar chest (that he’s suddenly taken after it has really ticked me off, I admit) with vinegar and baking soda, also floors. I have almost used up the baking soda! Have a biiig jug of vinegar, though.
Hadn’t thought of a bowl of it. Can I take that? Well, beggars can’t be choosers, right?
Little furry pain in the butt….
G’nite again!
Morning Suz,
Spent a bit of money on fuel to get to the recall office. Black Friday for Walker and the state repugs were whining about signature collectors potentially interfering with shoppers. Those DFH’s trying to subvert the economic, “recovery.”
hey nonq — how ya doing tonight?
Just a quick stop, tonight. Sorry to hear about the weather forking with your plans yesterday.
i’m going to see jen sunday to make up for it. no thanksgiving dinner but time with family :)
of course, the weather dood says another storm is due to arrive sunday… will wait for tomorrow’s forecast to see what the deal is on it timing wise
tis about time for me to head out peeps. gotta get up before the crack of noon tomorrow — making my saturday calls with the MET team to members so if your phone rings — answer it!
hope to see ya tomorrow night for cartoons. g’nite all
Having no mountain pass situations around here, I appreciated the geography lesson and took a peek at a map. Brain stimulation and curiosity are good things for my brain.
I’ve enjoyed chatting with the people who I have been meeting who are signing the recall petition. Lots of union laborers and today a few farm couples (who incidentally, even left a bit of the barn yard in the office carpet) ha,ha, one of the office volunteers was a bit miffed. I offered that these are just real working people of our state and that I would stop back with a carpet cleaner later today.
Great idea, niters, Suzanne.
Sweet dreams, Suz…!
I just got of the phone with several fellow Occupiers, it seems I’m being nominated to be the treasurer for Occupy Hilo…! Don’t ya just love being ‘volunteered’…? ;-)
DITTO
Good morning, pups. It’s Nocera and Collins, since Mr. Blow is off today. Mr. Nocera, in “The Ballad of John and Jessica,” says the slow and steady careers of two great musicians provide some meaningful life lessons for the rest of us. Poor Ms. Collins. She’s finally arrived at “O.K., Now Ron Paul.” It’s time for another meeting of the Republican Presidential Book Club. And lucky for you readers, Ron Paul has written a ton of stuff!
Here they are.
The coffee and tea are ready, and I’ve got banana pancakes for breakfast. I hope that no one who actually goes out shopping on Black Friday got trampled to death… It’s a cultural phenomenon that leaves me slack-jawed with bewilderment. I didn’t leave the house yesterday because it’s pushed hard here in Savannah, and folks drive stupid enough when they’re not out killing each other at the sale rack. Have a great day.
