I don’t think anything needs to be added to “Oops.”
And thus, the GOP field loses it’s only genuine intellectual. ;-)
Making lil’ look sharp….Hecka job, Rick
Hmmm, which outtake is more revealing of character…
Rick Perry’s oops moment?
Or Joe Walsh’s crap moment… kinda tells you all you need to know about what his first wife was dealing with.
And whazzup with the three wives club? Callista, Mrs. Huntsman, Mrs. Perry… smug on parade?
Perry can’t think of the third and Paul helps him out by saying there are five. LOL
Then slips him the wrong answer — EPA. LOLOL
Too bad Paul didn’t say Defense.
Don,t you think it’s a good thing that we have lobbyists to do the thinking for our candidates? (Except Paul, of course.)
Really, I mean really this genius has had to review and decide life ending decisions.
253 or so state murders cases are reviewed with this measure of intelligence ?
Todd Wellington was put to death based on faith over science and we’re thinking (?) about giving this guy the Nuclear football to toss around ?????
Yet, Perry has a message for world leaders….They can’t wait….
See the Rolling Stone Perry article…what speaks/makes decisions is money.
Perry on Paul: “Bitch set me up!”
They’ll love him even more. Conservatives have proven their ability to be very forgiving.
See, here’s my problem with this. My problem isn’t with Perry. This clip shows that Perry is really stupid. Right? Wrong. Poor man had a brain fart, seems to me. Happens. Happens to me alot. My problem with all this is with the lamestream media (h/t The Quitter). It now tells us that Perry’s campaign is over. Can’t recover from this gaffe. Recover? Only reason this guy was ever relevant is because the media made him so. Even before he got into the race, it was plain as day that this guy was a dummy. But the media let that slide and now pounces on this. I don’t have a problem with this incident bringing Perry’s campaign to an end. I’m just saying the media sucks for letting an empty headed jerk like this slide and then pronounce him dead on account of one thing. What if there is a good candidate (not holding my breath)? Media is the same way. One dumb mistake in a debate and a candidate can’t recover? Just think this whole thing is more of an indictment of gthe media than Perry.
‘course, these debates have been compared to a job interview with the people. Hope to God I never do something like that in a job interview. So long, Rick.
To gain on Mittens, next time, Pizza Man is going to have assaulted a few more wimmen,
and the Secessionist is gonna be packin’ heat.
the collective stupidity of the candidates debating last night was on full display. We have hit the bottom of the barrel and it is a nightmare to watch
“Thank you, and good night”.
What’s extra amusing is that when the video ends, there is a palette of four thumbnail videos, and the one on the top right has a huge yellow arrow pointing at Perry, reading <—STUPID.
That about sums it up. But someone I was (gently) debating with on Facebook yesterday insisted that Obama is disappointing but she has to vote for him because of the alternative.
LOL. Perry was so panicky if Paul said defense, he probably would have repeated it. Could have said, like, “Now, there’s so many of them agencies that need to be abolished I can’t even remember it right now, sweetie.” Smoother you know? Instead of just standing there crapping himself.
And I agree, Beerfart. I have brain farts like that all the time. But I am not running for president.
Poor man had a brain fart, seems to me.
Yeah, but it’s lasted a decade or more.
I’m just saying the media sucks for letting an empty headed jerk like this slide and then pronounce him dead on account of one thing.
It’s not “one thing” a very long list of things, including a series of horrible debate performances.
But still a fund-raising machine…Go figure.
Perry’s in line to challenge this.
One dumb mistake
Muskie’s “cry” was a signal event in his surprising decline and eventual collapse as a credible front runner.
I would be considerably more concerned with his record in Texas and his evangelicalism (is that a word?) than his debate performances.
As someone else said, read Taibbi’s Perry article.
On the other hand, if you close your eyes and just listen to him, he sounds like George Bush II.
And Howard Dean’s “scream.”
evangelicalism (is that a word?)
Yes, just like conservtive principlisms.
Wow just Wow. Good thing Texas excels in education.
“Opps….” “I forgot the department of energy and the billions of dollars Americans are leveraged into wasting each and every year, going to oil barons, who are probably in that one percent?”
How long did Reagan get away with it?
He could have said Education, Commerce, uh, Education.
That would have been three.
Longer, but Ronnie could read.
My wingnut sister in texas proclaimed her thanks to God when this fool was elected: they mix religion and politics. Actually, their “religion” is how they were brainwashed into becoming rightwing activists.
She actually sent out the from Xmas letter proclaiming her thanks to Our Lord for 2010 results.
Damn, why does the god of her understanding want a total moron in the white house? I am sure glad that we can choose to worship another God (or not).
How can even the evangelical fundies accept this?
I know her god works in very strange ways, but I mean this is batshit insane.
Don’t you think a creator of a universe could have at least whispered the answer in his ear or perhaps made it appear on his lecture along with the Virgin Mary?
LMAO I don’t think Rick could beat that.
LOL As Keith would say “That man is an idiot”.
Don’t you think a creator of a universe could have at least whispered the answer in his ear
She did. She said: “You’re an asshole.”
Dennis Kucinich’s UFO comments.
Good Morning, BT and Special Guest Commenters
Nice to see some different voices at Early Morning Swim -
Beerfart Liberal – regarding your sometimes Brain Farts: More Ruffage.
(Saw your comment regarding the last night. :)
OT – Glenzilla has a new column up, after a couple of days hiatus, with a bunch of video clips of his book talk at Claremont McKenna College that are well worth watching.
dude, I will read your blog posts and usually respect what you right.
If you have a lot of brain farts, you are not presidential material either.
Don’t take it personal, evidently its a crappy crappy job.
I am just hoping that the rest of America isn’t as thoughtless on this as you: “Gee, I can’t remember anything either” doesn’t excuse this in any way.
I would hope that the bar for presidential candidates is higher than meeting our own personal limitations.
We can’t have a brain fart prez even if we ourselves regularly fart from our brains.
Mornin’, BT, pups
From Al Jazeera:
Greek party leaders have agreed to name Lucas Papademos, a former European Central Bank Vice-President, to head a new interim government until early elections, the president’s office said.
This doesn’t bode well for the Greek people. Will Italy pick a banker from the IMF or World Bank to be its new PM?
You coulda warned me it was a Faux Nooz site. LOL.
Well then you don’t really “agree” do you?
Or perhaps that is a brain fart.
This nation is in trouble if all the dufuses choose candidates by voting for the folks because “their guy” is also the biggest dufus.
He could have said “oh shit”!
Also OT: Penn State’s president resigns.
Sorry for the OT linkies. It’s a newsy world this morning!
All you need to say is “this nation is in trouble….”Period.
Or choose based on who they’d like to have a beer with. If I’d like to have a beer with him/her, and would feel comfortable doing so, he or she probably isn’t truly presidential material. We need uncommon people in that job, not just regular Joes or Janes, and we haven’t had any uncommon ones for a long time.
From what you’ve seen/heard, has there been any discussion of the youth involved in the abuse? It’s been years…did they speak out, receive compensation? I do not recall having heard a peep about them.
Yes but sending the answer embedded in a pizza along with the Virgin Mary made of sausage and pepperoni would have been great too.
He did say “I stepped in it”…ewwww. Does that count?
Paterno should be fired yesterday.
A tragedy of enormous dimensions.
Got a couple of vids from OmAli at the farm, chickens and a goat. Talking to the critters with a southern belle voice.
He was fired during the night…the Trustees met and acted.
Good there is no room anywhere for that.
The only thing I’ve read is that Sandusky was SEEN having sex with a 10 year old boy in the locker room shower and was reported, and it was brushed off or covered up by both Paterno and Spanier.
I haven’t seen any revelation of specifics at all. But there are about 40 counts against Sandusky, I think, but that isn’t necessarily 40 boys.
Bet that makes ‘em happy.
Instead a bunch of students held a supportive pep rally on his lawn. Great priorities there…
I’m gonna hold out for someone I’d like to share a doobie with.
Believe that more than one youth was involved. One mother who tried to file charges on behalf of her son was told by the police to drop the charges because they would not investigate it.
Here comes the lawsuits against DEEP pockets.
President and joe Pa were fired by the board of trustees last night.
Yep can’t tarnish Joe’s long distinguishing career.
Fired the prez of the school as well. Students acted out and overturned a news truck.
Exactly – thanks for pointing out.
And thanks for not taking my reply as an attack – I also respect your persepctives here.
But I do want to point out, the “which candidate would you have a beer with” was pure propaganda created by the media to catapult an alcoholic/coke-head AWOL bastard into the White House.
I bet 10 dollars to a donut we never hear that meme widely used again. I don’t remember ever hearing it so widely as when we had the actively alcoholic prez, dur chimpfurher.
This was just an example of how propagandists use their biggest weaknesses to create lies about strengths. Want to disarm discussion of chimpy’s drunken past (and there were videos avail)?
EASY! Proclaim that we all want a beer with him and then slime his opponent as someone that sips wine.
The “beer factor” was a lie – Americans DO NOT overwhelmingly want to have a beer with an alcoholic!
And alcoholics don’t drink “a beer” anyhow. They do it in bunches…
As someone said last night, “Sickening…” So similar to the Catholic priest coverup. When did kids become so disposable….What drives dirty old men? Really outrageous
Eight,ninth came forward lately.
I really like that post
Actually, msmolly, to further the OT: Spanier and Paterno were both fired by the Board of Trustees, as they should have been.
The question remains regarding how many, if any, members of the Board knew about or heard rumors regarding the sexual abuse that is alleged to have occurred?
Several hundred PSU students did not receive the news very well and staged a minor rampage on the streets of State College, PA last night.
Maybe they were all just drunk frat-boys and they thought it was an “Occupy” rally.
I was referring above to Spanier. I didn’t see that Paterno was fired, but
he is “stunned” at his firing.
Guess he just thought he was so revered that he would stay while the president was canned. I had read yesterday that he’s a real jerk, but didn’t know the extent of his jerkdom.
Students reflecting the insanity of the overpowering football culture. Talk about screwed up values.
In hindsight, JoPa wished he had done more. No pun intended.
I can’t say a word about this one. My Huntington’s Disease causes short term memory problems, and have 10-20 of those moments a day. Anxiety (like from being live on national TV) will make it worse.
The problem isn’t spacing part of an answer. The problem is that himself and Ron Paul so casually claim they’ll throw out whole cabinet departments.
I think you should have just relied on fuzzy math and claimed 3 really means two
Yeah, b/c he had tried to pre-empt action…The Trustees even rebutted his remarks and said this is a matter for them. Pretty powerful statement…who knows what some of them may have known. Serious failure of their obligations if that hid any information. But gotta protect that football program.
Yeah, that’s what I was referring to. Apparently raping young boys is A-OK with a portion of the student body.
I read a long analysis of the situation yesterday (can’t remember where, brain fart) that basically posited that it will take years for the entire university to recover from this. Apparently police who received reports were part of the suppression of the problem, for whatever reason. Which is scandalous itself. Campus police officers are customarily “real” police, not any sort of security guard types.
36 years ago today the Edmund Fitzgerald went down in the big lake the indians call Gitche Gumee.
Here is Gordon Lightfoot’s haunting tribute to the Edmund Fitzgerald.
I think you are missing the point.
The reason we have debates is to see if candidates can think on their feet and do more than repeat talking points from note cards and teleprompters.
This “gotcha” moment means perry is demonstrating that he would get crushed in the general in a debate.
I am disturbed by so many liberals/progressives here that want to dismiss this as “I forget too” for whatever reason.
The debate process is all about eliminating candidates that are unable to talk about their talking points. This really is a big deal.
Dismiss it if you like, I really don’t care. But I know some of the same folks making excuses now are among the first to jump on repug voters that choose candidates this way.
No doubt they have a lot of frustration to vent. Most will be graduating with enormous debt and dismal job prospects, like students everywhere.
I’ll bet he wishes this morning that he’d done more. Sadly, not for any of the right reasons.
Pat Toomey said this morning that JoPa had done more for Penn State than anyone alive.
Power of money over morals.
The only article I read was Dowd’s column. She emphasized how much money the football program raised.
Saw the movie Margin Call yesterday. Same thing on Wall St. You can pay people to do anything.
And thanks for not taking my reply as an attack
I rarely take differing points of view, expressed civilly, as attacks. And I don’t disagree with your comments. I was not referring to “having a beer with…” literally, just the public perception that we should elect officials based on whether they’re regular “guys” (of either gender) with whom we feel comfortable, rather than based on their qualifications for the job.
South Bend just elected a 29 year old, Harvard grad, Rhodes scholar as its new mayor. Gonna be interesting to see how he does running a (small) city.
In my opinion, the biggest problem in this nation is that most Americans know more about college and professional sports than the affairs that directly impact their lives.
I thought folks here were more thoughtful.
Instead, this thread is proving that even here, college football is more important than a robust discussion on politics.
Hijack the thread and make it about Penn State if you like, but I will call folks on their BS next time they complain about other voters watching ESPN all the time instead of trying to get real news.
When will Penn State grad Rooster Santorum make his statement?
I know you take other viewpoints well and wanted to thank you for it, cuz I do value what you post.
A few years ago SMU underwent some major sanctions for violations. I would really like to see this tragic episode trigger a major and real investigation of college sports….money and all the rest. The imbalance with academics is absurd and gets cultivated…If the reports are accurate, Penn had a whole cadre of employees and hangers-on covering up this mess.
I think starting out on the premise that any of these clowns is a qualified candidate for president is delusional. What they do or say in “debates” is irrelevant.
That said, these “debates” show just how deteriorated our political system has become.
Well, excuuuuuuuuse me.
Folks here can’t have it both ways – if repug voters are distracted and uninformed by the media circus they are not different then us if we do the same in the threads here.
It’s a big tent.
I remember that day pretty clearly. I lived in Michigan at the time. But of course, the song helps the memory too.
At the risk of being badgered, one of the reasons I come here is to see different points of view, and we all have them because people have different personal experiences. So, if someone has a bit of a different point to make, that doesn’t exactly mean that they have Missed the point.
Scary as hell, isn’t it?
Texas just released another death row inmate recently.
You can’t have it both ways. If it wasn’t a regular hijacking the thread, then we would see post after post about trollin’.
Fun is fun, but if we allow the media circus to derail a dialog here, we are no different than other low-info voters.
I know it is, I am just saying some here would criticize low info voters for thinking this is more important than a prez debate.
But I guess those same folks think it is OK here.
Do not be so “mightier than thou”….this is a major and very important story. Can you even envision what kind of moral statement Pres. W. may have made. Maybe the role of college sports could become a part of the Occupiers….put some of that money elsewhere.
Apparently The Frothy Mixture is just “devastated” by Paterno’s firing.
(warning: Politico link.)
I’m sorry, did I hijack the thread? Swim is a pretty informal gathering, and I sorta thought we’d beaten the Rick Perry gaffe to death.
You know, Badger, there are alot of sharp, informed people “folks” here and they do not need lecturing; find a different rant.
I think you need to spend a little more time at Swim. If you look back at Swim over the years you’ll see that it’s not the hard core political thread you apparently would like it to be. I’ve compared Swim to a very large booth at the neighborhood diner where people gather for coffee in the morning. Anything goes.
Glad I don’t have to be one of Sanctimonious Santorum’s children, given his apparent priorities.
Maybe the folks at FDL realize that electoral politics is useless and only the people can enact change. *g*
With all due respect, most of the folks here — IMO — don’t consider it really to be a sports story.
It’s about power, corruption, and criminal acts.
You did not hi-j….Badger has taken on moderator voice for some reason.
It is said that State College “…is a drinking town with a football problem.”
I grew up in State College, msmolly, and can attest that it was, and is, obsessed with football and the partying which attends such an obsession.
In the 1950′s, there was a major split between those professors who wanted PSU to be essentially “academic” and those who wished to jump on the money-bandwagon of big-time sports, football in particular …
The money faction won … and once again, now, something is lost. And not merely, “perspective”.
It is to be hoped that something will be learned, on a very fundmental level from what has occurred and continues, sadly, to occur.
Penn State has long dominated State College and the local region … and one hopes that a better balance and a deeper understanding may be visited upon Happy Valley.
I personally think it is more important than further discussion of Rick Perry’s “brain fart” or even a debate among a collection of buffoons. Which I think we had given ample commentary to, before I posted at #46.
Thanks for posting this clip. Couldn’t watch all of the circus last night.
Wow, what a moron.
I wish him well on his way back to Texas and in his efforts to separate Texas from the…
Thanks. Sounds like a canned speech he has a the ready for whenever a Catholic priest is outed.
You’re preaching to the choir, DW. I grew up in Columbus Ohio, home of OSU and Woody Hayes. I’m not sure there was much debate in those days about sports vs. academics. LOL.
Maybe, but I still don’t think that we are all going to see exactly the same thing. Righty-o?
(Man, what a thread to jump in to when I’m still half a sleep! *g*)
I would like to comment but I’m chewing gum walking working and can’t possibly do or think about 2 things at once.
I think maybe you missed part of Adam503′s post — he said he’s most concerned about the easy dismissal of entire cabinet departments. The focus on forgetting which ones they’ll eliminate pales in comparison to the fact they’re wiping them out altogether. When we focus on debate problems rather than policy problems we’re part of the problem.
Frothy Mix thinks that this guy losing his job is what’s most tragic in this story?
and I haven’t had coffee
Good morning pupses and BT!!!
I agree and we shouldn’t always see eye to eye. I do think however from the time I have spent on this site that the majority of posters feel electoral politics is a dead end. I have been up since 4 am cst so I have had the required amount of caffeine.
*Waves to demi* Thought I saw you upthread. And good morning, oldnslow.
At the moment, I am thinking about breakfast, since my stomach has been growling at me for 1/2 hour. Where’s that waitress? Isn’t this supposed to be a diner?
You can multi task jest fine, scooter.
And, my favorite comment of the week is still, Hey, watch it, she’s driving the bus.” That’s still cracking me up, friend.
I’m gonna sit back and watch. Never a dull moment with you guys. Meant in the absolute bestest possible way.
Frothy Mix thinks
Assumes facts not in evidence…
Let’s get crackin. *g*
Good morning, OmAli. Are you farm sitting again?
One notes, ghost, that there is an Occupy at Penn State, although it would be wise were it to move from the PSU “HUB” (Hetzel Union Building) to a location off campus …
Frankly, those who rampaged are much more heir to a long tradition of drunken brawling and mindless destruction, than to considered understanding and appreciation of civil behavior or their connection to a more compassionate and more civil society … as I said to msmolly, @108, I grew up in State College and am all too familiar with what played out on the streets of that college-town last night. I assure you, there was little thought involved: much simplistic emotion was acted out, but very little reasoned understanding took place.
This is exactly what OWS is about.
99% of the people would have been fired for covering up a buddy’s sexual escapades with a consenting adult partner .
Joe was a state employee and as such was required to report the incident to the police right away, then follow up with a written report in 48 hours.
He’s a 1%er who the laws don’t apply to and that’s OWS point.
Hold out your cup, sweetie. But, I’m feeling a bit slighted because I didn’t get a video of Rodriguez in my email.
Badgerbadger, do you realize you’re so arrogant you just told a guy with HD the way he judges short term memory lapses is wrong?
You’re a real piece of work. Don’t talk to me anymore, badgerbadger.
popeye and msmolly
Yes! to both
Good job this morning, m’dear.
Remember, never awaken a sleepingsleeping badgerbadger.
I hate to inflict it on too many people at once lest someone complain to the management :)
I’d love to!
Count me in!
and thank you for the coffee. Love this diner.
Will do. Need to go feed in a bit, just got back from the airport.
Lighten up, Francis. Your point is well taken generally, but you’re in the wrong place to be complaining that it’s the people around here who lack knowledge and seriousness about real issues.
Off to swim in the great capitalist cesspool.
US KIA Afghanistan: 1,832
US KIA Irak: 4,483
Afghan, Iraki and Pakistani casualties: estimates vary to over 1.5M
US MBS 2011: 38,812 and counting
No war but class war
Be good to yourselves, and all other living things
Never. Give. Up
You nailed it. The tragedy is that he got caught.
I’ll try to remember that. Thanks, Non.
Why? Because it’s so Boring-Boring? ;)
I gotta go as well I need to finish painting my daughters bedroom. Tonight I have the webinar for liaison training. I am busier now than when I was working. I hope to write a diary over the weekend as well.
Oh goody. It’ll give me something to look forward to watching when I get back from the kitchen.
Good day to all stay safe. It’s been a pleasure being here today as everyday is.
Yay! Good for you. You certainly have become a busy badger beaver.
Best of luck with the project!
LOL You are being bad again. *g* But I wouldn’t want it any other way. Tell it like it is.
I have State College roots as well so I can appreciate your comment.
Do you have any idea what you are preparing, today?
Thanks I am excited to be involved with Occupy. It is so rewarding to see the energy of youth. Wish I had it.
*snort* and *blert* !!
That was my strict schoolmarm voice
’till I started laughing :)
I think the tragedy is those young boys, who probably were scarred for life. I have a 10 year old grandson, and the thought of what happened to that boy in the shower just freaks me out.
“…next time, pizza man is going to have assaulted a few more wimmen and the secessionist is going to be packing heat.”
As comic Judy Tenuda used to say, “Hey, it could happen!” :o)
This fucking road-zoo of retarded champanzees is making Obama and his “centrist” sellout look like Abraham Lincoln, and that REALLY pisses me off.
I slogged through the comments before posting. My email comment was read on state radio yesterday calling for Joe P to go immediately or else relieve everyone else of their positions at Penn who thought enabling the behavior was OK if the let him simply resign. Also suggested his and the other perps entire salaries and retirements be divested and shifted to victims compensation.
No. The chefs will figure it out this morning, based on what exactly is there. We get truckload of food donations several times a day. For example, if there’s a big donation of yummy fresh large rolls, we may make sandwiches, etc. And, we never know until we all get there Who exactly will show up. Some volunteers are more dependable than others. So, I may be chopping or baking or I may be serving at the counter, which is most likely because they say I am one of the best customer service people. Just because I smile and talk and laugh with the clients. Ha!
Great song! Lightfoot at his best…
All seriousness. I bet you are fantastic with the clients.
I know I can be brattish. I’m glad you appreciate it. I really do. *g*
You pupses have the most wonderful day!
Safe home and safe travels,
I’m going to the BARN! Oh happy day!
Love you guys,
I don’t think it was a brainfart. Perry is even stupider than George Bush, and if that isn’t shit-your-pants scary, then nothing is.
Jesus H., it’s looking like all Obama has to do is not get caught on video fucking an 18 year old intern on the White House ellipse at high noon, and he could still be re-elected to crap on the country some more.
Heading to school to beat the anticipated rush hours for P/T conferences. Have a pocket full of recall Walker lapel buttons to hand out to the teachers who might want one.
The best day possible to everyone.
I still have the album that song is on.
Thanks to BT, Molly and everyone who made this a great start to a wonderful day.
Much fondness to everyone.
Don’t forget to smile at a stranger to day.
Hey demi, if you’re still here, a question (w-a-a-ay OT): is there a good way to keep basil? I have to buy fresh basil in those little plastic packages and putting them in the fridge makes the leaves turn blackish and rotten. I read online that you shouldn’t refrigerate them, you should put the stems in water. So I did that and the leaves started drying up from the tips in. So I put them in a plastic bag but NOT in the fridge, but they don’t look too hot.
I know they won’t keep for more than a few days anyway, but it’s frustrating.
A government agency that is important enough to kill is important enough to remember, notwithstanding a temporary lapse of memory. His equally shocking inability to recall how many agencies he had decided to kill, whether 3 or 5, is not reassuring.
This incident suggests to me that someone told him what to say and he forgot what it was. I do not need any additional information to process in order to reach an evidence based conclusion that this candidate is a mere faceman for others who are unwilling to step forward into the light and be questioned regarding their fitness for office.
I usually agree with your comments, but I respectfully must disagree with this one.
It was a good comment. The idea that because of JoPa’s age and football success, he should be allowed to ride off into the sunset gracefully, is just an extension of the cover-up. I thought that if Penn State University was going to salvage a micron of respect, they would have to serve every one of the “horseplay” interpreters up on a platter. Obviously, the board of trustees understood that.
It still wouldn’t surprise me if Paterno and Spanier were indicted, and it wouldn’t bother me, either.
Again, the notion that when McQueary came forward with this, and everyone up “the chain of command” lowballed it all to hell and gone, and hid it from law enforcement, without doing SOMETHING to try to make sure that McQueary STFU, is unbelieveable. That would be like leaving a time-bomb ticking away in the prez’s office.
Put it like this: McQueary went to Paterno in 2002.
It’s nine years later; why come out now, unless, of course, he knew that one or more of the alledged victims (and their families) were about to hold a presser…and that didn’t happen. In fact, their reaction to MeQueary’s coming forth hasn’t been exactly instantaneous, with, to my knowledge, no more than two of the boys stepping up.
There’s another bottom line: the lawyers are trying to get in touch with the families, as we speak. Huge sums of money to made off the University here. It’ll make for nice legal and financial “horseplay”.
On the way out the door, many people make pesto and freeze it. I freeze the leaves fresh from the garden in small batches, 8oz in a freezer bag. I snap off the needed portion of frozen leaves and use them as I would fresh, reseal the bag.
I have to disagree with you on this. We don’t have “debates” in order to see how the candidates do against other candidates. We have them to see who can think fast on their feet, and not curl up and die under pressure.
Perry’s “oops” moment says to me that he is unable to think quickly under pressure, which is a MAJOR problem if he wants to be CinC of the armed forces, and have control of the “football” nuke codes.
He failed the pressure test. I cannot vote for him. He’s not the guy I want having to answer the red phone at 3 a.m.
Is there a song on that album titled something like “The Girls of Calgary”?
I ask because I heard Sally Jones and the Sidewinders, which included Ron Stewart, probably the most talented multi-instrument picker in bluegrass, cover it at Bluegrass On the Waccamaw a few years ago. It knocked me out. She should have it on a CD.
I think what the media is saying that Perry won’t get many more funds from the powers that be to continue on the campaign trail.
Good morning, darlin’. How come SD got videos of the farm, and I didn’t? I showered this week.
Best method —- as if you’re making pesto, chop basil in blender with a slight covering of olive oil and then pop into the freezer —- as good as fresh.
The debates are all for show. Barbra and GHW Bush told us last winter
that their man was Romney.
A society that gives a shit about “gaffes” is already dead.
The current President uses murder as a tool of policy, for contex with a “gaffe”.
Good morning, rc.
Any answer I give you for that would be fraught with possibility. I don’t dare give you that advantage :)
I desperately want to send you a video of Rod. You are practically family. *blert!!*
ok, how do we do this without revealing super-confidential information? I’m going to see if I can figure out how to upload a video to Flickr. Check back here later. Maybe way later, I need to go to Tractor Supply. OMG, I’m actually going to Tractor Supply. I’ve died and gone to goat heaven.
I’ll ask the chef today. If anyone knows, he will.
Can you grow basil in a window that gets lots of sunlight? Just a thought.
I’ll ask and then email you.
I have a box I use for non-classified stuff, even TBogg has it lol. [email protected]. Contact me there, and we can establish a genuine email linkup.
a) This “brain fart” is but the latest in a string of incidents beginning with his undergraduate (non)performance that underscore Gov. Perry’s intellectual inadequacy.
b) The Presidency is not a job for morons (see GWB).
RC and friends, here are two short videos of Rodriguez and the girls. Hope this experiment works:
I think I said, “took my dad to the airport”, old habit, if I did. Meant to say I took their dad to the airport.
Got it, thanks, I’ll shoot you a message.
Link is above, you probably saw it. Flickr is great, and easy.
Oh, thank you, Om. What a hoot! And, Rod is indeed photogenic. Something about his long face and the long white hair on his face made me think of SD. Ha.
I’ve got one foot out the door, but wanted to say I appreciate your having had shared that with us.
I’m so glad you liked it!! Thannks for indulging me and watching. He IS so handsome.
Rod, I meant, but now that you do mention it….. :)
OMFG. Rick Perry. White hot burning stupid.
Thanks, nice vids. How did I know you’d have the voice of a seductress?
That is hysterical! The goat whisperer. And when Rodriguez listens to me he he hears, “Food, food, food, foodfoodfood. Food!”
Silver rain sings dancing rhyme
sunlight on blue water
rocky shore grown soft with moss
catches all our laughter

Bruce Cockburn, Gifts

Wilde: I don’t know what you’re talking about.
Ximinez: Right! If that’s the way you want it — Cardinal! Poke her with the soft cushions
Guy can’t walk and chew gum and walk at the same time.
