Gosh, where would anyone get that idea?

House Speaker John Boehner disputes the notion that Republicans are “servants of the rich.”

“That’s very unfair,” Boehner said in an interview aired Sunday on ABC’s “This Week.” “Listen, I come from a family of 12. My dad owned a bar. I’ve got brothers and sisters on every rung of the economic ladder.”

I swept floors! I put myself through college! My grandfather was a sharecropper! I have lots of friends who are poor!

All those non sequiturs aren’t fooling anyone, Tan Man.

Two in three Americans say they believe Republicans in Congress favor the rich. Nine percent say they favor the middle class, while 2 percent say they favor the poor. Fifteen percent say Republicans in Congress treat all classes equally.

Obviously, two-thirds of the country doesn’t realize that Tan Man’s daddy once owned a bar.
