He’s a 94-year-old life-long Nebraskan, and I’d have to guess that he’s voted mostly Republican all his life.

He just stayed with us for three days in The Great Nebraska-Colorado Father Schlep (grin) my husband and his sister executed so doggedly and well. We had a really good time together, if you can believe any of us (another grin)… Even one evening’s contretemps resulted in a more honest and open connection, coming face to face with old grievances and whatnot, and I think we enhanced our mutual love and respect.

Opponents of marriage equality often rely on “time immemorial” type excuses for their anti-gay bias, saying that marriage has been defined as a relationship between one man and one woman for so many thousands of years. How many thousands of years, however, has never been agreed upon. Mitt Romney will agree to whatever number you want.

Mitt Romney will be receiving the endorsement of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie before tonight’s Republican debate according to The Hill. The main import is not so much on Romney’s front-runner status as what no getting such an endorsement means for other candidates.

While President Obama’s job approval numbers had being trending steadily downward since the May bump following the killing of Osama Bin Laden, his job approval numbers appear to have stabilized over the past two months. Every day since August 9th Obama’s job approval number has fallen between 43-38 percent, and his disapproval number has been between 48-54 percent in Gallup daily tracking poll.
