The news that the Obama Administration deported 400,000 undocumented immigrants in the last fiscal year, setting another record, did not come as welcome news to immigration advocates. The Administration claims there is new focus on just criminals, but what do they define as “criminal”?

Herman Cain leads the Republican Presidential field in South Carolina and is tied for first in Florida according to two new NBC News-Marist polls out today. In South Carolina, “the first in the South” primary, Cain has a 4 point lead over Romney among likely primary voters.

Surprise! Herman Cain’s plan is built around a catchy slogan, but the Tax Policy Center put out a distributional analysis of Herman Cain’s 9-9-9 plan, and as they show, it would raise taxes for 84% of the population, cost those in the lowest quintile 20% of their income, and save millionaires something close to $300,000 a year.

The idea that a diverse global movement would settle on a singular idea on which to move forward may not seem realistic. But the Demands working group at Zuccotti Park is working around to that one demand, and not surprisingly, it involves the most important problem facing the nation today.
