Pretty good here. One of the women who had lost her beautiful cowgirl boots in jail got them back. . .there was an undercover cop who was at the jail and heard her story, saw the boots later and grabbed them up for her. He gave her his card and told her that she should let him know if there was any kind of imposter that was looking to give a bad name to Occupy. That’s kinda cool, eh?

I don’t think he was totally just trying to game her, or am I too trusting?

i’m not much into it either — didn’t even realize the world series was being played until i saw a tweet from a guy i know who is not known for hyperbole who proclaimed ‘best world series game … ever’. figured i had better see why he was so excited.

It is heroic to be in the streets with gas, sticks, and guns. . .We were not at any risk of anything much besides discomfort and total freaking boredom. But I think it is useful to the movement, and it was a small sacrifice, honestly.

Yes to both of those, and it’s so much more room than the apartment, the management of which was turning toxic anyway. We’re pretty happy with the place.

It wasn’t one or two, but a whole series… very late on a (prolly) sat night a couple of months ago. I’ll find it.

Wet but happy. We all got together at my folks for Mom’s b-day. 3 generations plus our daughter’s boyfriend.
It was stilted until I told a joke a wonderful woman [ Ann, 97 yrs old] taught me. The Little Old Lady and the Banker’s Balls.
It was ribald and hilarious, from then on it was a lively night! Talking politics, Amy Goodman and Chris Hedges interview with Charlie Rose. Debating the merits of finding one ounce of human understanding and compassion for the police actions against Occupy with my 17 yr. old nephew, who hasn’t seen the Police Action up close. It got quite passionate and resolved itself in a really friendly way.
‘m going to have to write that joke down for you all.

Better yet, Ann could write hat joke for us. She’s still taking 2 writing classes a week and editing her autobiography.
The world needs a good Bankster joke to go viral.

Good morning, pups. We have just Mr. Blow and Mr. Nocera this morning since Ms. Collins is off today. Mr. Blow, in “America’s Exploding Pipe Dream,” says numbers don’t lie. The United States gets low scores in a new report on social justice. Mr. Nocera tells us “What the Costumes Reveal,” and that a New York “foreclosure mill” law firm celebrates Halloween by mocking those who lose their homes.

The coffee and tea are ready, and since it’s rainy outside I thought that French toast waffles would perk me up. It’s going to make for a very cramped church fair, since all the tables that would have been out on the lawn will have to be moved inside if it keeps up, but the radar seems to show the rain almost passed.
