Working against the Walker wrecking crew has me waking from the lazy boy for a another round (of fighting).
To make things safer for children getting on the school bus each morning the WI Repug Assembly forwarded their bill to sell alchohol at 6:00AM as if there was not already enough time for state drunks to imbibe.
not as cold as last night but still frosty *brrr* i’m hoping that rain hurrys up and gets here so i can take off the blanket i’m wearing like a sarong over my fleece layers (laughing — i’m such a wuss)
Fall is here for now, lows around 35 F overnight, highs today 45F. bit of rain possible. Spinach is loving it, so far. Further office training for recall work tomorrow.
Fortunately you are not alone, new legislation to further for profit schooling at the expense of public schools is on the horizon. There will be opportunities across the river for you to participate.
i figure she had to be out of jail in order to leave that comment on the occupy oakland thread about getting arrested with about 30 folks at occupy albuquerque last night
bailey cat has decided to occupy the sofa… i think she heard cat breath on twitter had an occupy the couch thing going on and decided oregon needed to represent
token claimed the area around my feet as dog territory. he’s got his bed right there. occasionally bailey cat will curl up in his bed but its usually designed to entice token out from under the wood stove so that she can switch places with him
There are two masters of slidey instruments of all sorts, from all sorts of countries, who are alive and still performing and working in one form or another.
Ry Cooder, is one. A master of so much it’s insane. He scores, writes, plays movie music, performs, records, archives, produces, and more for audio musics.
He’s been incredible, his body of work is huge, if one delves into his discography and general credits.
The other is David Lindley. I don’t know if Lindley has scored and written for movie music, but he’s done everything else, played and mastered anything with strings to pluck and slide on.
He’s just as much as a legend and contributor to it all as Cooder is.
Bless them both, n thanks for some Cooder, Suz, very timely choice and as always with COODER, tasty as shit.
sleepy tea is brewing, motivational election speaker here (thursday) later tonight (big name national campaign adviser who lives nearby) with ideas for pursuing the recall.
Nice playlist tonight, broadband at both appointments tomorrow, thanks for hosting, Suzanne, my 65 was to you, I keep forgetting to let the myFDL toolbar to load so the reply button sticks. Niters everyone.
So I need some advice. I lost my iPod Touch at a hotel downtown. I have a feeling it worked it’s way into the black market for lost and stolen items. I’ve been scanning Craigs list looking for descriptions of one like mine. I think I found one. I’ve contacted the person ‘the fence’ and if she hasn’t sold it already I’m got to see if it is, in fact, mine.
So how do I do the whole exchange. I have the serial number of the iPod, and I know the password. But they might have done the password 10 times and scrambled the data already.
What do I do if say, it’s my iPod, and they have it. I have a serial number but no paper work. I can identify it with the crack in the body but that seems lame.
I’m thinking if it is mine I can say, “Well it looks like you found my IPod I’d like to give you are 40 dollar reward. (Instead of accusing them of not turning it into housekeeping/lost and found at the hotel)
What do you think? Frankly I’m kind of scared I’m not used to dealing with stuff like this.
KIller, as the youtube comments state, I know this one from a Mayall album in the 60′s with Clapton on git . . . . had a vinyl, lost that one long ago sadly . . . yer on it, gal . . . fine fine tunage.
One last refresh and there is my inspiration, (only for Walker recall tactics) appearing on the thread. I initiated a couple of ideas to put Walker, Repug voters on the spot about the recall, in public, to make some points favoring the recall.
Ipod, bring a friend with you, it seems you’ve thought it through, good luck.
Heck yes Ma’am, I’m eatin fresh basil daily still! N some cherry orange maters, some lil yellow pear maters. Rosemary and thyme to spare.
Two of the heirlooms are now flowering the past two weeks, with fruits starting to set! Thot they were dead as hayall from red spyder mytes . . . life is weird out here weatherwise . . . *G* been a VERY kewl n wet spring, summer n now extended warmer temps but not burning in sept thru now . . .
It perfectly captures the zeitgeist right now — I hope it becomes the “Feel Like I’m Fixin’ to Die Rag” of the Occupy movement.
Speaking of which, no fewer than three teachers at my school tonight had stuff for me to bring to Occupy. I took it over there as soon as I got off work.
And thanks again for your kind words about my Occupy diary :)
Just checking in to let you all know, if some aren’t aware already, Oakland is on the march again right now–bigger than ever–cops have formed a defensive (or should that be offensive) line.
NYC Cops kept last night Oakland catastrophe in mind today, and reduced their violent take down-face smashes onto squad car hood to a minimum of the 9 they then arrested…..
*** A driver was stuck in a traffic jam on the highway outside Washington, DC. Nothing was moving. Suddenly, a man knocks on the window.
The driver rolls down the window and asks, “What’s going on?”
“Terrorists have kidnapped Congress, and they’re asking for a $100 million dollar ransom. Otherwise, they are going to douse them all in gasoline and set them on fire. We are going from car to car, collecting donations.”
“How much is everyone giving, on average?” the driver asks.
busy.. was on the webinar today and am organizing folks who are going to their local occupies to find out what their winterization plans are. was on the phone a lot today – so much so that i burnt dinner in the oven and had to make a second.

Gov. Jerry Brown to unveil 12-point pension overhaul
Brown will propose benefits for new state workers that combine elements of traditional pensions with a 401(k)-style savings plan. He says the state can no longer afford its current retirement system.
Brown will also propose raising the age at which most new state employees can get full benefits, from 55 to 67.
Additional components of the governor’s proposal adhere closely to the outline he released in March, in the middle of budget negotiations with a handful of Republican lawmakers. For example, Brown will ask legislators to take steps to end “spiking” — giving workers pre-retirement raises to boost their pensions.
He also wants to prohibit retroactive pension increases and eliminate “air time” — employees’ ability to buy credits for years they have not worked.
Brown is also hoping to reconfigure the boards of the state’s two largest retirement systems, which have come under GOP attack for being too friendly to labor and lacking sufficient input from financial experts.
He is also pushing to ban pension payments for anyone convicted of a work-related felony.

Great movie, great special effects too, I loved it when they blew up Parliament and Big Ben…! ;-)
Mahalo, robert…!
Yes, there’s nothing like the “Oh, Fuck” moment of truth when one realizes one has irretrievably screwed something up, is there?
As Edward Fitzgerald said in “The Rubiyat of Omar Khayyam”:
“The moving finger writes and having writ, moves on.
Nor all your Piety nor Wit Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line, Nor all your Tears wash out a Word of it.”
i’m usually not much of an action movie fan
token enjoyed the chicken — it was too tough for me but not for him :)

Remember, remember the Fifth of November ….
Was getting into the festive spirit of this and then, inexplicably, began to cry. Why?
