Eric Clapton & Jeff Beck – Shake Your Money Maker
Occupy Everywhere…! We are the 99%…!
What’s on your mind tonite…?
Aloha and Congrats, Chris…! How’s Cleveland tonite…?
Eric invites the coolest dudes to his Crossroad Jam sessions…!
Some ZZ Top…
Aloha, PPD…! I hope all’s well in Cali tonite…!
Mighty soggy these past couple days here, I’m hoping for some clear skies for our little Soiree tomorrow afternoon…! ;-)
I’m pumping myself up for tomorrow, ya’ll…! Don’t mind me…! *g*
First, there’s only TWO versions of this song worthy.
>This Is One Of Them.
No one, NO ONE, ever beats Butterfield Blues Band.
But Early Fleetwood Mac gives it a go, and stretches it fine.
That’s Mic, John on bass, Peter Green, and the slide is all about Jeremy Spencer, REAL Fleetwood Mac!!
Occupy is setting a hopeful tone. We’ll see how Wall street acts after The financial summit coming up. The European banks want a bail from the member country’s. BoA is being sued by US Bank for fraudlent paper they bought.People over there are pissed about the austerity for debt reduction. Lot of stuff going on.
Wish we had a candidate to primary BO.
Hi, CT. Do you know if there is a delay in posting diaries at myFDL? I’m new at this, and I may have pushed a wrong button. I just kind of wanted to share my wonderful….and totally unexpected…experience of walking with Occupy Oxnard.
No problem….it just showed up.
Hmmm… Your first link didn’t work…! Shake Your Money-Maker …
Aloha, Larue…! ;-)
Wish we had a candidate to primary BO.
Amen and Aloha, BB…!
Cool and Aloha, Dearie…! Do you want me to link to it…? *g*
Smiling from the south coast… “:)~
Dang . . .
Mic, John, Peter, Jeremy Spencer lites up the slide n does the vocals . . .
Great job…! Occupy Oxnard — More Than Just a Pretty Name…
Saw you comments yesterday happy you got to do it. We had a good one in San Luis Obispo about 200 rallied and marched by banks for a couple hours. Nice weather lots of shoppers and eaters in town got to see and hear the 99%.
Hilo town had about the same number marching downtown yesterday too…! I would’ve taken part, but, I was still stuck up at the 8,500 ft level of MK until it was almost over…! 8-(
Yeah, links failed, I think i fixed them after a few tries . sigh.
Still, my point is Butterfield Band and Fleetood Mac came long before Clapton n yer version of Money Maker . .
I guess, they all go back to the black blues artist who did this tune, long ago.
N that would be, ELMORE JAMES!
So you have a big event tomorrow?
What really hit me about “we are the 99%” is that we ARE! I don’t know any 1% folks, and I don’t know anyone who does. Many of the people who were marching in Oxnard are (or were) well to do — or at least comfortable as they approached retirement…..and then saw their IRAs and 401Ks get trashed.
We are in this together. Important, I think, to stand together.
Santana!!!! geting my ears plugged in. Be back.
It’s supposed to be a smaller protest outside the local Merril Lynch office building, but, it’s been on tap for awhile longer than yesterday’s march so we shall see…! ;-)
Aloha, BFL…! How’s Floridaze tonite…?
Elmore Plays Some More!
N thass how it was done, n how it was copied . . . n thass WHY it was done n copied . . .
Elmore edjumacated all them white kids . . . ;-)
There are almost 7 billion 99%. I wonder how all the state slave labor in China feel about OWS? Property bubble in China and Hing Kong has been bursting.
Got out for a ride this afternoon — beautiful weather here.
Cripes n SO sorry Puppers . .
Fleetwood Mac, Money Maker.
Jeremy Spencer on lead vocals and slide . . . Peter Green back up git and vocals, Mic on drums, John on bass . . . the original 4 before Danny Kirwin or Christine McVie (Perect) joined or sat in.
Good luck their they might be a little testy. On thing about the anti war protest in Berkley they had a legal defense fund. Didn’t help me.
I’m telling ya the bestest dewds… Buddy Guy & Ron Wood with Johnny Lang and friends… Old timers mixed with the young Guns…! ;-)
No, That’s NOT Peter Green On Vocals, It’s Jeremy Spencer N He’s Doing Teh Slide, Too!
I found & emailed two excellent background links in support of OWS, CT.
Kids are all too young, hoss . .
Gotta get back to early 60′s . . .
OR, for the black blues originals, 30′s . .
But yeah, blues are kewl . . . if ya find the good stuff.
We’re not planning to occupy the Building, we’re looking at lining the main street outside, but, I’ll see what transpires, since I’ll be using my flipcam…!
One Of My Old Favs . . . Mic, Yeah Yeah Yeah . . .
from what I hear Occupy Orlando had an unplanned march downtown tonight and is hunkering down for night #2. small but spunky crowd down there. very good march yewsterday morning/afternoon. i honeswtly thought it would be a big zero. very happy.
CA & NY AG’s back out of states’ settlement negotiation http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/blogs/taibblog/attorneys-general-settlement-the-next-big-bank-bailout-20111005
*heh* This young pup gives a great Try of it…! Btw, I first saw him open for the Stones’ Steel Wheels tour stop at Foxboro Stadium…!
Here he is at the House of Blues with Buddy Guy…!
I’m certainly Mad as Hell…! ;-)
Occupy San Francisco being hassled by cops right now:
Aloha, the robert…! That sux…! How’s SoPa tonite…?
My heart’s in San Francisco. The Occupiers are refusing to take down their canape per the orders of the police.
I think this may get a bit hairy….
Those kids are clearly real tired. They just want to sleep, but the cops won’t let them. When it was pointed out the cops never made the homeless sleeping in the park leave, the officer in charge agreed, and he admitted the difference was political….
What’s up with the SFPD, Haight and Ashbury is the historical home of DFHs…!
Reporting riot cops on the way….
We all need to gently remind the police — in all settings — that we are working to protect their pensions as well as our own.
“Do you know a 1%er? Why are you paying their taxes?”
I think pulling every deposit from TBTF banks and placing those funds with local community credit unions or locally owned banks is the best approach.
Citizens United destroyed the illusion of a constitutional representative republic of the people, by the people and for the people.
night all – be well
Pleasant dreams, PPD…!
From: Massachusetts labor leaders court Occupy Boston protestors
On Thursday, newly elected Massachusetts AFL-CIO President Steven Tolman visited the camp to bring tarps, hand sanitizer, duct tape, water and flashlights — and pledging support from the largest labor organization in the state. “I think it’s important that organized labor reaches out to people who are demonstrating for the right reasons and we see this as certainly the right reason,’’
Good luck, everybody!
Well, I’ve got an early start ahead of me in the morrow… I shall bid ya’ll a fond adieu for the evening, and, Aloha Oe… *g*
