Some advice to OWS, not that they need it: Distrust but verify.
Bloomberg, Ray Kelly and all the Tony Bologna clones are just biding their time.

BTW, how’s that internal NYPD investigation of Tony going?

Republican Dog Food and Keynesian Economics

Public relations is, after all, at the nub of politics – the ability to influence. What Barack has learned very late and very hard is that politics and policy cannot be bifurcated. One does not achieve good policy without good politics.

The airy idealists who flitted around the White House singing, good policy makes good politics, no doubt have had their tutus removed and wings revoked. There will be no more of that.

For three years Americans have been treated to a cacophonous clusterfuck of radical right-wing orthodoxy. A santorumy mix of teabag nihilism, Randian dystopia and neoconservative imperialism. The loud incessant clanging has come from all corners of Republicanism …

No, in the universe of the Republican Party we found ourselves in a crisis because Representative Barney Frank forced helpless bankers to lend money to the undeserving poor.

I’ve seen this right-wing talking point numerous times, but have never seen any numbers to back it up. Typical.

Good morning, pupses, and thank you BT.

I just went over to Larue’s diary to hear what he has for us, and I’m not getting sound. I’m using my big monitor, running a cable from my laptop, which is what I always do when I’m home.

The speaker cable is in the proper place and when I wiggle the connection at the laptop I get static from the speaker, but no sound. Ditto with earbuds.

Any suggestions?

Although I was in IT for 25 years, I was never a hardware person, but at a guess your sound card or the sound port on the laptop is loose or failing. You’ve more or less ruled out the speakers, since it happens when you have earbuds connected, too. Maybe a loose wire or something.

Keeping up with my house, volunteering at the Notre Dame Performing Arts Center, riding my bike (I’ve now logged 1100 miles this summer), sewing for my granddaughters, refinancing my mortgage (when you’re retired they want reams of documentation), etc.

My home is in a wooded subdivision and despite all of the trees, the woodpeckers prefer to peck holes in my cedar siding, which then have to be filled and painted, just in time for them to make new ones.

EDIT: and it’s time, here in NW Indiana, to clean out all of the pots of annuals on my deck that are now looking yellowed and straggly.

Alex Jones is reporting that War with Iran has been “greenlighted.”

Former State Department official, Dr. Steve Pieczenik on 10/13/11 is reporting that bunker busting bombs have been delivered to Israel, etc.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smD_Seqy8ZU

Ex-CIA analyst, Ray McGovern on Oct. 5, 2011 talking with Jones of the likelyhood of war with Iran.

Elements of the military are reported to be deeply unhappy with this. Pieczenik reports that one of the few things that will stop the War Machine are bodies in the streets protesting.

Do you have men watching me????? Yeah, whole pot (so far). Not much sleep last night due to all the PTB activities. How does any sane person vote for someone named Hickengooper?

No!!! I could see that all by myself, thankyouverymuch. You and I must be twins separated at birth. :)

You truly have been up late with the OWS crew. I do check on you, periodically. Someone needs to!!

A Chickengooper in every pot? You’re right, it’s irresistible.

Our second GA is this evening and they don’t want us to bring signs. Kind of surprised and disappointed. I saw that you mentioned your GA is in a park that caters to the wealthy. Should be some good photo subjects for you.

Ours both are in a downtown park that has its share of homeless. Some of the comments after the newspaper article last week were cruel. It will be interesting to see if this week brings a different response.

Consensus is messy. And I have bird poop on my black vest, to prove it.

Hey, rc. There were about a billion of these. Their cries rent the air and bodies darkened the skies, so there was zero element of surprise. It was an event of Biblical proportion. I’m only now recovering.
