Red Hot Chili Peppers – Monarchy Of Roses (Lyrics)
That is the very first track off of their brand new album, “I’m With You“. It is also the first song they’d played for their kick-off concert, which was also simulcast to Cinemas all over the world, live from Köln, on Aug. 30, 2011…! The very same nite my grandson was born…!
And just because I can, here’s the last song of the 90 minute set… Give It Away…
What’s on your mind tonite…?

Aloha, nahant…! How’s Californication, tonite…? Congrats on the Zed…! ;-)
Aloha, tuez…! How’s Floridaze tonite…?
Well, after spending the weekend making up for any drought we had, ma nature decided summer should return. Sigh.
*heh* I just found out earlier today that I’ll be at that very same dome for the next 5 nites in a row…! That’s Keck I’s laser in action…! They want me tomorrow nite thru Saturday nite…! ;-)
I’ll be hanging for next Sunday’s LLN, btw…! ;-)
I am looking forward to the Full Moon on Wednesday nite…! I’ll have my flipcam and I’ll capture some of the beauty…!
Oops got side tracked…
Woo hoo, 5 more nights of work for you.
You do some pretty cool work.
I thought tonight was the full moon. It looked like it to me, when I was walking the dog; however, I am wrong on a regular basis when it comes to full moons and a host of other things.
CT !
Happy Canuck Thanksgiving !
I’ll certainly be on some Higher Ground for the next 5 nites…! ;-)
No shirt…! Hawai’i was pretty much shut down today too…! I blame those fricking Puritans, and Columbus too…! ;-)
Two plus nites of it will be time and a half, too…! ;-)
Ka-ching…! *g*
Costco has Christmas shit on display already.
Costco in Toronto had Christmas goods displayed by Labor Day …
So does my ‘local’ Macy’s store…! ;-)
Temps in Toronto were 30 for Sat/Sun and 26 today …
So, Petro, are ya rooting for the Tigers…? Mo-Town is looking mighty good these days for a bunch of sports…! Stanley Cup added to the mix…? ;-)
I haven’t been anywhere but the grocery store in the last few weeks, missed the earlier and earlier Christmas crap. I guess. At least the grocery stores are still pushing Halloween.
What really pisses me off is when the grocery stores in Florida start playing Christmas songs that have to do with snow. I’m always like, WTF.
If it’s any consolation, tuez, so do my local grocers…! ;-)
My fave red hot chili pepper tune… Sir Psycho Sexy…
Not rooting for any of these teams, but I’m glad to see small market teams get this far …
I’m trypt out … G’nite all !
Pleasant dreams, Petro…! Happy Thanksgiving too…! *g*
At least you have snow-capped mountains. The closest thing to a “hill” we have here are dumps and septic tanks.
Night Petro
*heh* Well, I do live on the biggest Rock, in the Middle of Nowhere…! ;-)
evening, CT – how’s the family?
Aloha, PPD…! The Better Half is mighty stoked…! ;-)
What’s the news?
Well all Righty then… ;-)
Ever hear of Jesus Ween? Some Canadian Pastor wants it to replace Halloween. I diaried it here:

Aloha, The robert…! How’s So.Pa. tonite…?
One more day of Indian Summer, then fall comes in like gangbusters….
Hello for an unusual late late for me.
It’s been a beautiful Indian summer for 3-4 days. First string of non-rain we’ve had for months. So I’ve been outside trying to catch up on chores. Since I’m so out of shape, fell asleep around 8p, woke up an hour ago & it seems like I’m not going to konk out again for a bit.
So whozup & how yer doing?
Now, speaking as a fellow Albertan, Edmonton, not Calgary, we’re all not so afflicted, robert…! ;-)
I recommended it but need to read it for comprehension when it’s not so late at night and after a couple glasses of something.
On that note, I’m out for the night.
Aloha, eCAHN, I was just talking about ya on an earlier thread or two…! ;-)
Sweet dreams, tuez…!
Nighty-night, tuez….
My ears are itching.
I once walked up to a group of about 4 at work who were gossiping about some one not present. I asked: What do you say about me when I’m not here. You should have seen the looks on their faces.
So, CT, what do YOU say about me when I’m not here?
And how’s your grandchild, CT?
Hey Folks:
Well, I helped get a story in the Guardian today.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/oct/10/washington-protest-american-spectator-patrick-howley?newsfeed=true
That was kind of fun. I love to help mess up the agenda of right wing agent provocateurs
Hendrix with the Stones…
Fox host Geraldo Rivera decided to go down to the Occupy Wall Street protests Sunday afternoon and ended up having an unpleasant experience. Protesters immediately surrounded Rivera and his network’s cameras and began shouting “Fox News Lies!” After a few minutes, Rivera decided to leave. His departure was cheered by protesters, who sang “Hey, hey, hey, goodbye!”

So, CT, what do YOU say about me when I’m not here?
Nothing I wouldn’t say in ‘front’ of ya, M’dear…! ;-)
Aloha, spocko…! That is awesome work again, spocko…! *g*
Love your work on provacateurs. It seems so obvious to me. I remember the 60s as though they were yesterday (how old are you spocko?) and fbi, cia, and every other nutcase infiltrated every ‘subversive’ movement that existed, like civil rights, feminism, Amerindians, esp anti-VN war movements, etc.
But it seems like younguns today are unaware that there has been a great deal of history. So are naive about fellow travelers.
Sigh.
hiya eCAHN
My latest pics of the munchkin…! ;-)
Cute. Love them mittens…
Phew. I was worried there for a second. *g*
Ya know, on the intertooobz there’s a permanent record. Well, at least until the technology changes so much that even the NSA ‘archives’ can’t access every jot & tittle of what we type. Can’t wait for that.
My fave story about email:
When it came in in the 90s, and I was still working on Wall St, every year at our ‘compliance’ lecture, we were told that anything you didn’t want preserved forever, you never put in an email. Instead, telephone conversations were recommended. (Those were recorded & preserved on the trading floor, but NOT [so they said but I never believed them] for the rest of us.)
When dot-com bubble burst the only stock analysts prosecuted were two men with incriminating emails. The woman analyst at Morgan Stanley got off scott free.
So what’s so complicated about: Don’t put incriminating info in emails….
It’s funny I’m too young to be a real 60′s hippie but too old to be a young un.
I try and bridge the gap by talking to both groups and reading history. I also like to understand how these things really work so I can help with our progressive narrative.
I keep taking ‘em off of him, but, all the wimmums keep putting ‘em back on him…! ;-)
Sweet.
I heard something interesting from my niece who teaches 3 year olds. She says that a lot more are needing OT, owing to weak upper body. Seems like kids are spending so much time on their backs, in bed, in car seats, in carriers, etc, that they aren’t crawling around enough to develop muscles properly in arms, chest, back, etc. Just something to keep in mind.
Also saw an article about distant vision & much higher % of kids who are near sighted these days. Thinking the cause is puters, TV. Not enough time playing mindlessly outdoors to properly develop distance vision in their formative years.
Whoda thunk.
I remember in my first period Civics class in high school refusing to do the Pledge to the flag right after Kent State.
The teacher tried to reason with me, but none of my fellow students criticized me for it….
Aren’t the mittens supposed to prevent him from scratching his face?
I’m suspicious by nature. One of my characteristics that made me a good econ analyst. So the concept of infiltration was one that made immediate sense once some one articulated it to me.
In the 60s we had a saying that you may want to plagiarize: Sociologist know that for every group of 50 peeps you study, you need to deduct 3 for the sociologists studying the group.
So they keep telling me, but, I like to feel his grasp on my fingers…! He’s got a strong grip and he’s already very adept at grabbing my fingers…!
Scene is breakfast in a kind of diner in Dusseldorf in 1989. My SIL, who grew up there, is showing my son, then 8, and me all the places she remembers. My husband, his father, had died 2 years earlier.
USA flag burning was all the rage. My son picked up a USA Today with screaming headlines about how bad it was. I remarked that the flag was just a piece of cloth & who cared whether anyone burned it or not.
My son, in a loud voice, said (I thought): All Europeans are stupid.
Red faced me. Looking around to see if anyone took offense.
Of course, what my budding wingnut son had really said was: All YOUR opinions are stupid.
Mitten, not Mitts eh CT?
I’m with you on that one.
I’ve also been holding him erect and both his neck and leg strength is astounding for 6 wks…! He’s also downing numerous oz’s of formula and breast milk, the Missus and I were telling the mom to start the cereal already, too…!
Geez, you are tying into all of my pet peeves from my son’s infancy.
Pediatrician tried to “tell” me (first time mom, obviously lacking all brain cells) what to do. Ran into the same thing at about the same age, and started him on cereal. Got a tongue lashing next ped visit. Thought he/she (was a cigarette smoking she, but she was on vacation for some period during his early months, so not sure which one, her or her younger male stand in) was nuts, so did what I thought was sensible and delayed next visit longer than I had been brainwashed into.
All YOUR opinions are stupid.
That’s sad, eCAHN…! 8-(
I’ve been to Dusseldorf in ’88…! ;-)
Just wanted you all to know that O’dark thirty this morning I wrote about a dozen media outlets to alert them to Charlie’s work.
So far Boing, Boing, The Guardian in the UK and CNN have updated their stories and/or written follow ups.
I want people to know that this part of the process doesn’t just happen. The media aren’t out there looking for this stuff, They are ready to move onto the next big thing, so people need to help them see that they need to update their stories or do a follow up.
Last week I and a retired military officer friend wrote a diary here at FDL that predicted this and how to identify them. In the diary we also talked about what to do when agent provocateurs are caught.
The plan was to alert the MSM and get them to update their stories and/or write new ones.
I used Charlie’s reporting to get Boing boing to update their story.
http://boingboing.net/2011/10/09/did-a-right-wing-agent-provocateur-instigate-air-and-space-museum-pepper-spray-chaos.html
Then I called him on Sunday and put together a quick media strategy. We selected targets, I crafted a letter and I wrote over a dozen publications and media outlets.
I know for a fact that the story in the Guardian and CNN are directly related to the emails that I sent.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/oct/10/washington-protest-american-spectator-patrick-howley?newsfeed=true
I’ve also advised Charlie on issues to bring up to keep this story in the news by looking at both journalism and legal issues.
I asked Charlie if anyone besides my self contacted him to help him get out his story to the MSM. He said no. We laughed at how different this is from the right where they have highly paid PR people training folks like “Joe the Plumber” and pushing stories 24/7 on behalf of the think tanks and GOP.
We talk a lot “being the media” but we also need to remember that the MSM doesn’t go away just because we are “the media” Understanding how they work and helping them do their job is important.
If you don’t establish a narrative your competition will or the media will assign on to you.
Well, The Missus is asking for my services…! I shall bid ya’ll a fond adieu for the evening, and, Mahalo for the great company tonite…!
Aloha Oe…! *g*
Dusseldorf has to have been the most civilized city for raising a child that I’ve ever seen. My SIL was much smarter about traveling with a child than I was and knew the local terrain. So she always made sure that after lunch we spent a couple of hours in a public park where Adam could play. One had an amazing sand box. It was raised on legs just the right amount off the ground for toddlers-teens. Had running water! Kids spent HOURS constructing sand castles, canals, dikes, everything you could imagine.
Apt buildings were 3-5 stories tall. Built wall-on-wall next to each other. However, if you walked thru the passage from the street, you found that all the “back yards” were connected in a green space, perhaps with some playground equipment. So very young kids could go out back to play with some adult, not necessarily parent, in supervision.
How much more civilized could a society be.
Yeah you.
My short version about MSM, above, is that “you” (occupier) only get on media if you are a raving nutcase. Since there are so few in the very articulate occupy movement, cnbc has found it difficult to “find evidence”.
Nighto CT.
Let’s see if this works.
yay!
