Greek Default Almost Assured |
| By: David Dayen Tuesday September 13, 2011 6:36 am |
Greek bond yields are pricing in default with a 98% degree of confidence. This is the latest in the almost monthly flare-up where Greece is set to default, followed by some half-measure from Eurozone members that props them up, followed by a lack of confidence in that plan. This just causes more uncertainty and pain for the whole of Europe.

| By: Dean Baker Tuesday September 13, 2011 6:08 am |
National income really is very basic stuff. It gets taught in every intro econ class. Anyone writing on economics should know it inside out. They should be able to do it blindfolded, with one hand tied behind their back, and standing upside down.

The same man who cheerfully allowed Darrell the Car Thief Issa to become the House’s new Ethics Czar is hopping into ideological bed with the most hated man in the guitar industry: In the weeks following the Aug. 24 raid of Gibson’s Tennessee facilities, Juszkiewicz has portrayed himself as a poster boy for the excesses [...]

| By: Scarecrow Monday September 12, 2011 6:45 pm |
President Obama’s campaign manager, Jim Messina will be at Harvard University on Tuesday, hoping to urge Harvard students to help “pass the bill” or reelect the President or something. However, students and others opposed to the Tar Sands oil development and the Keystone XL pipeline are also planning to be there to greet him.
So if you’re in the Boston area, just hop on the Red Line, get off at Harvard Square and walk down to the Kirkland House, right across from the Kennedy School. Messina is scheduled to be at the Kirkland House Junior Common Room about 3:30 p.m. Here’s a map.
